Hunter's POV

I feel like strangling myself.  We have been on the road for 2 hours, 10 minutes and 50 seconds.

'tick' My wrist watch goes.

Make that 51 seconds and it's been the worst 2 hours of my life. One, I was in too much of a hurry to grab breakfast this morning, two, I dropped my phone and now the screen is cracked. Three, Taylor, the girl I've hooked up with a couple of time almost talked my ear off by telling me about the – in her own words "totes adore shoes" she bought yesterday and how she can't wait to see me again cos it's been too long.

She saw me yesterday!

She doesn't seem to know the meaning of 'it's just sex'.

Even though that makes me sound like a jerk, we were both clear about what we wanted in the beginning but now, I don't think it's the same for her anymore

And the worst thing about this morning, my best bud, Dean, hasn't stopped singing (if it can actually be called singing, it's more like screeching, he's completely tone deaf) along to the songs being played on the radio since we've set out on this journey. I can't wait to get to our destination, which is the airport.

That brings me back to the matter at hand, I truly fucking hate our biology teacher Mr. Fiddles, who decided that traveling all the way to the wilderness, will sharpen our knowledge of how nature works.

Camping? Seriously?

It would have been fun if we were going there for relaxation, but according to Mr. Fiddles, it's a project. It doesn't mean people took him seriously though..........

"Take me to church, I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies, I'll tell you my sins...." Dean howls. God, his voice is terrible.

"Dude shut up, I might develop a brain tumor if you continue ..... Whatever it is you're doing, i'm pretty sure it's definitely not singing" I growl.

"Nah, you're just jealous that you're not as talented as I am. Don't worry, when I become a rock star, I'll take pity on you and give your sorry ass my left over groupies".

I snort "Yeah, I really can't wait. Now in the mean time, do my sorry ass a favor and shut the hell up".

"Geez, I wonder how I ended up being friends with someone who doesn't appreciate pure talent" he mutters under his breath.

"I heard that" I tell him.

"You were meant to" he replies.

I concentrate on driving again when Dean pipes up.

"Hey, what are you gonna do about Daisy, you do remember that you were paired up for this project right?"

My mood darkens again at the mention of Daisy. Hearing her name, one would think that she would be all sunshine and rainbows but I've never met anyone that catty in my entire life. And the thing I don't understand is why she's only bitchy to me. She's nice to everybody and She looks at Dean like he hung the moon but the guy is oblivious to anything other than party, girls and food.

We were assigned partners for this camp or whatever it is, to work together on our observations and make an interesting report. 60% of our grade depends on this report. All my friends are aware of her problem with me hence Dean's concern.

"I'll be alright" I tell him. God, I really hope she doesn't claw my eyes out or anything "I mean what's the worst that can happen".

Dean replies "if you say so".

Daisy's POV

Where the hell is that jerk? Not that I care but I can't turn in my ticket to Mr. Fiddles without my partner.

I snort, Fiddles, what kind of name is that?

I am not really surprised that Hunter showed up late, in fact, I wish he gets left behind but that's not possible because of three reasons.

1. His dad is one of the partners of the school.

2. His family owns this airport

3. Both the students and teachers of Gale high school adore him and his troop of friends because they are all rich as hell.

It's not that all other students are poor or anything, after all, Gale high school is for the prestigious; we're all heirs or heiresses to something. Some are just superior to others. I look around the private section of the airport where we were currently waiting.

As if summoned by my thoughts, three sport cars show up and park in the space that was reserved specially for them. I guess they felt they were all too good compared to all the other students to consider riding with everyone in the bus like the school recommended. Hunter's friends climb out and start approaching the airport's entrance while hollering greetings and playful insults to their teammates.

As if in a chick flick in which the heroes come out of the car in slow motion and then proceed to wave their hair and laugh, Hunter and Dean exits the last car and just like that, they have everyone's attention. I hear a few girls giggling beside me and I feel like smacking sense into them. Are you blind? Hunter is a freaking asshole!

Okay, I won't lie, while Dean is really good looking; Hunter's attractiveness beats Dean's by a long shot. With his chiseled jaw, His blond hair and hazel eyes and his ripped but not overly muscular body, he is every girl's dream.

But the thing about him that annoys me is that he is the most arrogant playboy I've ever seen. He knows he's attractive and he isn't afraid to use it against girls. For me, that kills all his goodlooks.

Dean on the other hand is the guy I've been crushing on since junior year, I know he also messes around with girls but he's the most laid back guy I've ever seen. I'm broken out of my train of thought as I focus on the approaching figures of Hunter and Dean.

As they walk pass me, Dean offers a "Hi Daisy" and I go red in the face. Thankfully though, he doesn't notice, but Hunter; that jerk, smirks as if he knows a secret I don't as he and Dean struts on.

"Huh, would you look at that. You're so cute. Did Dean say hi to you again? You've got to be cool about it, you seriously need lessons from the master who in case you're wondering is me" Chloe says as she and Bloom who are both my best friend approach me.

I blush harder and then mumble a weak "shut up" causing them to chuckle louder.

"Damn, he looks good enough to eat" Chloe suddenly says referring to Hunter whose back is currently facing us as he talks with his group of friends which makes me glare at her in reprimand.

As if sensing that we were talking about him, he turns and winks at Chloe who in turn goes red in the face. I snort, master, my foot.

Since Hunter a.k.a the jerk had finally decided to show up, I can now turn in my ticket. I walk up to their group and tap his shoulder. All eyes in the group turn to me; eyes belonging to Hunter, Dean, Mark, Daniel, Blake and Tyler. His friends are pretty cool though unlike him. They all mutter things like

"Hi daisy",

"What's up?"

"how ya doing?"

"looking good babe", the last one coming from Blake who flirts with anything with a skirt. I respond to their greetings while Hunter excuses himself from the conversation.

He scowls at me as soon as we're away from his friends.

"What now, did your witch coven ask you to come gouge my heart out for dinner" Hunter asks and I scowl back at him.

"We were supposed to turn in our tickets together earlier as partners and if a certain annoying brat hadn't been late, I would be happily settled in the plane by now. I wonder what Mr. Fiddles was thinking pairing me up with you" I yell at him.

"Tough luck, you're stuck with me and it's not as if I want to be paired with you either. I would've preferred someone a little bit more..............." he runs his eyes up and down my body  and turns his mouth up into a sneer "......eye catching". he completes.

I scowl harder and angrily march to where Mr. Fiddles was collecting and rearranging tickets in wishing I could strangle his arrogance out of him. At least, he had the decency to follow me. After our names had been registered, we were asked to proceed into the plane.

I was assigned the seat between Dean and Hunter making me particularly giddy, though I knew Hunter's presence would dampen my excitement a little bit but I wouldn't let it weigh me down because Dean would be there.Maybe this time, I would actually have enough courage to hold a normal conversation with him.

Making my way back to my friends, I spot Hunter shoving his tongue down a girl's throat in a corner. I shake my head in disgust and probably pity for the girl whose name I'm sure he won't remember tomorrow. Somebody then taps me on the shoulder and I fly out of my skin in fright.

"Calm down Daisy, It's just me" A deep chuckle escapes from the person who almost scared me to death and I almost melt into a puddle of goo because I'd recognize that voice anywhere.

It's Dean.

Daisy's POV

"Hey" I say "what's shaking" I add.

Seriously! What's shaking? I should probably start crawling into the ground now. I quickly look over to where Hunter was still busy almost dry humping the girl he was mauling earlier and I internally sigh in relief that he can't ruin this for me if I don't ruin it for myself. Dean's gaze follows my gaze to Hunter and lifts a perfect eyebrow

"Jealous?" he asks.

No of course not "I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon and eat them" I reply fiercely.

Wow, interesting visual to give to your crush. So cute. Someone please shoot me.

Just then, someone calls his name and he sends an apologetic glance my way.

"I've got to go, see you later, seatmate" he says as he saunters away. A wave of excitement crashes over me with the reminder of spending 3 whole hours seating beside Dean. I know I'm acting pathetic but I can't help it.

I continue my search for my friends but when I couldn't locate them, I send a text to both of them informing them that I was about to board the plane and I receive a brief "k" from both of them. After taking my seat and making myself comfortable, I plug in my earphones and start bobbing my head to the music. I close my eyes and try to completely relax and catch a few zzzzs before everyone comes aboard.

I was almost off to my own happy place when I spot Dean and Hunter approaching; I discreetly check my appearance, sit up straight and run a hand through my hair to smooth it, not for Hunter but for Dean. I try to act nonchalant when in reality my heart was beating as loud as a super bass.

Finally they took their seats and didn't bother me because my eyes were still closed making them assume I was asleep.

I give myself a little pep talk and urge myself to start a conversation with Dean and just when I was about to pretentiously wake up from my fake sleep, Blake hollers at Dean from the back to come and give his opinion on a very important conversation i.e. who had the biggest curves between Stephanie and Tiffany.

And of course, He being the player he is did not hesitate to go and put his own two cents in, leaving me with Hunter.

"I know you are not asleep". He says.

Can't he just take a clue and leave me alone; I shut my eye harder trying to block him out.

"You know ignoring me won't make me go away right" Hunter tries to get me to respond again.

I groan "Leave me alone you jackass".

"Ah, it speaks" He says wittingly.

"Moron" I mumble under my breath. He doesn't reply so I assume he didn't hear, and I make a move to plug my earphones back in my ears when his hand suddenly grabs mine preventing me from doing so. I'm surprised by the gentleness of his touch and how weirdly good it feels. A shiver runs up my spine. I turn to face him and he releases my hand, I ignore the disappointment I feel at his actions.

When I peek a look at his face, he looks unaffected by the contact and raises an eyebrow at the look on my face which I'm sure was slightly dazed. I blame the way his touch affected me on hormones, I mean teenagers experience hormone imbalance all the time right? "What" I say attempting to sound unfazed.

"Oh" he says in a hoarse voice then clears his throat and speaks again in a more mischievous tone making me narrow my eyes at him.

"I just wanted to inform you that since Mr. Fiddles said partners will share the same tent, you should sleep with one eye open. I mean you never know what can happen in the woods" He smirks and turns away just as the flight attendant orders us to fasten our seat belt. Dean comes back and settles down. As the plane took off, I decided to finally get some real sleep.

I start dreaming about a lion chasing a deer, the deer runs very fast for its life and when the lion finally catches up to the deer, they both stand up straight and shake hands. What the heck? Then next I see them wearing bikinis and relaxing on the beach both sipping margaritas. What? They start talking but I can't hear what they are saying because of an insistent tapping on my shoulders.

"Daisy wake up, we're here" someone whispers in a gentle voice.

"Geez wake up and stop slobbering all over me" another voice repeats in an annoyed tone.

No, I don't want to wake up, my pillow smells so good; I bury my nose in it and sigh in appreciation. The deer and the lion both send confused glances at me.

"Daisy" the person with the annoyed tone says in a strained voice. I slowly open my eyes halfway and find my face buried in the crook of Hunter's neck, my eyes snap open completely and my face heats up in mortification.

How did I even end up there? I glance at Hunter and see him smirking evilly at me "you've got a little something there" he says pointing to my chin. I hastily swipe my hands across my face and find drool at the corner of my mouth; I blush harder if that is even possible. Thank God nobody was around to witness my embarrassment. It suddenly hits me that I was sitting between two people and that it was two people that tried to wake me up.

Oh my God, Dean.

I bring myself to turn around and face Dean to find an amused smirk on his handsome face. He saw me drooling! God, I should probably start planning my future. Let's see, after getting off this plane, I'll change my name to Mrs. Cat, move to Antarctica, build an igloo and have 50 penguins as pets

Hunter clears his throat, drawing my attention to him and then points to his Jacket on which I had; oh so gracefully drooled on. I'm saved from any embarrassing comment that was about to come out of Hunter's mouth, when my phone vibrates indicating that I have a message. I unlock my phone and my jaw drops at the picture staring me back in the face.

Daisy's POV

I unlock my phone and my jaws drops at the picture staring me back in the face. It's a picture of me asleep, head resting cozily on Hunter's shoulder, mouth wide open (probably from the surprise of seeing a deer and a lion in bikinis), and drool dripping down the corner of my mouth. The picture was tagged: A Truly Glorious Moment. Two other texts come in and I open them, one is from Chloe and the other from Bloom.

Chloe: it was sent to the whole school seven minutes ago by Hunter..........what is going on over there? Lol

Bloom: oh my gosh, that picture is horrible..........you good?

Am I okay?

If blind rage can be considered okay, then yes I guess I'm perfectly fine. I turn to Hunter to give him a piece of my mind, when I decide against it. We are going to share the same tent right? Karma is a bitch and revenge is its sister.

Just you wait, jerk.

I start mentally cooking up my revenge plan when I notice that we are no longer in the air. I gather my purse and make my way towards the bus taking us to the camping site.

Immediately I got in the bus, Chloe and Bloom wave me over and I go to take my seat beside them. My butt hadn't yet met the seat before they started fawning over me. Bloom was the first to attack me with her concern.

"Are you okay? Don't be bothered by people's stares, you know they'll soon forget. I didn't know you really meant it when you said you guys hated each other. Gosh, you probably think I'm a horrible friend, I mean I should always be on your side and not be falling in love with Blake, who is Hunter's friend"

Okay, where did that come from?

I stare in shock at my best friend. Bloom is in love with Blake? I try to ask what she means but she was still busy rambling. She always rambles when she is worried, angry, nervous and confused. I turn to Chloe and see that she is wearing a shocked expression on her face probably mirroring mine. We turn back to Bloom but she was still busy rambling.

"That means I'm disloyal to you as a best friend right. It's not my fault though, I mean who can resist his steely eyes, chiseled face, soft hair, oh wait, I don't know if his hair is soft but it does look like it. It's not as if I'll ever get to touch it though. He's a player and I'm a nobody, he probably doesn't even know I ........." Her eyes suddenly widens as if just realizing where she was and what she said.

"You're in love with Blake??" Chloe screeches hysterically making us jump.

Bloom quickly looks around to make sure nobody heard, after seeing that nobody was paying attention to us despite Chloe's sudden outburst, she turns to Chloe and fix her with a disapproving glare.

"Geez Chloe, say it any louder and the whole planet will hear you".

"I'm sorry" Chloe apologizes. "But are you really in love with Blake? Why didn't you tell us? We're your best friends. I don't know if I should be hurt or give in to my inner fan girl who has already started writing you and Blake's romance novel" Chloe adds.

Despite Chloe's take no prisoner attitude, she is the biggest softie I've ever known and the most hopeless romantic of us three.

I'm still in shock from Bloom's revelation, so I keep my mouth shut.

"I'm sorry guys, it started as a silly crush and I kept telling myself I'd get over it. But my feelings got stronger and now here I am, the pathetic wall flower crushing on the football captain. It's really sweet when you see it in the movies and novels because you know they'll both get together in the end but it sucks in real life. It hurts a lot whenever I see him with another girl. I don't even know why I bother because I know I'll never have him but it's just so......." She burst into tears.

"Awww, Bloom" I and Chloe say sympathetically as we pull Bloom into a group hug, my picture problem forgotten. She sobs for a while and then finally stops but we still kept her in our warm cocoon to assure her that we are there for her.

The bus starts when the teachers have completely ensured that everyone was on the bus. Bloom sniffs "You guys can let me go now, I'm okay" she mutters. We reluctantly release her. "Thanks guys" she smiles at us.

"You don't have to thank us, we'll always be here for you. Just so you know, you're not a horrible friend, and you are definitely not a wallflower. If only you take your time to notice how people stare at you all the time, you will see". I say.

It's true though, with her 'as black as midnight' hair, her grey eyes and curvy body, Bloom is the definition of stunning but even though she tries to hide it, she is sometimes extremely self conscious. Chloe on the other hand could pass for a model.

She is extremely tall and gracious. She has blond hair with green eyes and has that classical beauty all ladies want. What makes them the best though is their heart, and if Blake doesn't notice Bloom then it's his loss.

We fall into a comfortable silence and I plug in my earphones. In case you haven't noticed, I love music.

1 hour, 30 minutes later, we finally reach the location for our so called camping. I think this is just an opportunity for teachers to relax while not having to worry about work and students if you ask me. We all get off the bus and wait for the hired men to unload our baggage and set up our tents while the hired maids prepare the grill because let's face it, this project is more for relaxation than work. I wait with my best friends sitting under a tree chatting about trivial things.

A shadow soon falls on us and when I look up to check out what was suddenly blocking our sunlight, I find Hunter and his friends looming over us.

"Ladies, do you mind if we join you" Tyler, always the charming one asks.

Before I get a chance to say no, Chloe responds "Sure, go ahead, we don't mind at all".

The guys start making themselves comfortable. I send her a glare but she wasn't looking at me. The guys were already engrossed in conversation with my friends. I send an extra glare at her for good measure but since she was seating by the tree corner, it seemed as if I was glaring at the tree.

"I wouldn't be surprised if that tree withers up and dies, you really look like an evil witch when you glare" A deep voice whispers in my ear making goose bumps appear all over my body.

I turn my face towards the person sitting beside me to see Hunter's face extremely close to mine.

Damn! This idiot really is handsome. My blue eyes meet his hazel ones and my breath catches, the catty comment I was about to make dying in my throat. My gaze slowly drops to his mouth and I swallow hard. Images of that mouth taking mine for a kiss dances through my head......gosh no! What am I thinking?

I notice his gaze also dropping to my lips and his tongue comes out to lick his.

His eyes moves back to my mine . And as if suddenly reminding himself that it was me, he snapped out of it. I also try to put on my best poker face.

"Who said you could sit here?" I try to make the tension disappear.

"Your friend seemed more than happy to have me here" He replies with a smug smirk. Idiot.

"You are not..............." I start to say but was cut off by a horrified scream.

Daisy's POV

We all stood up and ran to the direction which it came from, some students were already there. I look to the side and see Taylor crying and Tiffany consoling her. I start to wonder what happened but didn't have to wonder for long before some of her other friends ask her what was wrong.

She starts sobbing louder "It was a snake, it crawled right over my foot into that tiny bush, I hate this place". When she notices Hunter, she starts to sob louder than before and moves towards Hunter who was standing beside me.

"Baby, you will protect me right" she says while trying to snuggle into Hunter. An annoyed look crosses Hunter's face and he rolls his eyes at her dramatics. "You wouldn't let anything happen to me, my hero". I bite my tongue to keep from bursting into laughter.

"What happened here?" Mr. Fiddles asks as he approaches us with another teacher, Miss Rose. Miss Rose is the nicest teacher I've ever known.

"A snake crawled over Taylor's leg, do you hear that, a snake! A freaking snake!! Did you bring us out here to kill us or something? My skin feels like an old woman's, my nails are broken and there is no network here.

What do you expect us to do here for a whole week, hunt fish and live like savages?" Stephanie screeches. Stephanie is the meanest girl in Gale high school and that's even a nice way to put it.

The teachers have to tolerate her behavior because apparently, they get special favors from her mother.

"Stephanie!!" Miss Rose scolds. Interesting, it seems she is the only teacher who doesn't tolerate Stephanie's behavior.

"We're sorry Miss Stephanie, but that isn't possible, we've had this place checked by experts and they have confirmed that no harmful creatures live here." Mr. Fiddles says and then turns to one of the hired men

"Go and check that out" He says pointing to the little bush Taylor said the snake crawled into.

The men quickly scurry to check it out and after a while one of them shouted "found it". We all perk up to see what all the fuss was about only to see the man holding up a big caterpillar with a stick.

"See! I told you it was a very large snake. Don't bring that thing near me" Taylor screams and tries to hide behind Hunter but he avoids her.

This time I couldn't hold it in any longer and I burst into laughter. Taylor and Stephanie send me a mean glare and I glare at them back. Realizing that this was a waste of time, my friends and I move back to our tree but Hunter and his friends follow us again. It was then that I noticed Dean, and as usual turn into a dork.

This time, Dean sits beside me and my heart goes into overdrive.

"Hi Daisy" He says then chuckles "This is the fourth time I've said that to you today" He says scratching the back of his neck. "So, what's up?" he asks trying to start a conversation.

I blink at him once, twice and then force out an awkward laugh and mumble "nothing, nothing's up". It's always been like this for me, I'm never able to talk like a normal confident girl in the presence of any boy I have a crush on.

"Hey! Daisy, the tents are ready". Chloe calls out to me.

I stand up and start to move towards my friends who were already walking away, when Dean calls my name. I turn to him and give him a questioning look.

"I was just wondering if you would like to hang out tonight with me and my friends, you can bring your friends".

Really?

Eeeekk, YESSS, if you'd be there.

"Sure, why not?" I say with calmness that I wasn't feeling. He gives me a heartbreaking smile and my heart jumps to my throat.

We go our separate ways; he goes to his friends while I go to mine. When I get to my friends, I meet Chloe and Bloom squealing and jumping in ecstasy. "What's with the sudden jumpiness and happiness? It's too much, it's almost blinding me" I ask them both.

"The guys invited us to hang out with them tonight; you know they never invite anybody to hang out with them" Bloom gushes. They both squeal and I have to cover my ears.

"I was just about to tell you the same thing, Dean invited us to hang out with him and his friends tonight." I say with a wide grin. Chloe and Bloom stop squealing and freeze.

"Dean? Dean Harper?" Chloe asks and I nod.

"The same Dean you've been crushing on since junior year? He's totally asking you out. It's kinda weird because we're in the middle of the woods, but if that's how he rolls then no problem.

We've got to go shopping for perfect dresses but we are so far from the city. It's not like we can make dresses from leaves, or maybe we can. That will make us look natural right? You know, with leave dresses, twig heels and bamboo handbags.

Where will he even....." Bloom begins to rant. Very pointlessly, may I add.

"Bloom"

"Bloom"

"Earth to Bloom" Chloe and I say trying to snap Bloom out of it. Luckily, it worked.

"Your future boyfriend has a lot coming for him, I hope he knows what he's getting into". Chloe teases Bloom.

"Shut up" Bloom replies.

We then chat for a while before I decide to go and unpack

"I've got to go to my tent and make sure Hunter doesn't paint my clothes blue or anything" I say.

"Oh well, we might as well go and arrange our things too" they say together and then laugh about saying the same thing as they walk towards their tent. I wish I was one of them right now because they are partners and I'd pick being partners with a frog than being partners with Hunter.

The tents set up for us were no ordinary tents, they were luxury tents made like real rooms. I take a deep breath then enter the tent, I look around and notice that Hunter was asleep on his own bed.

Ah, this is the perfect time to have my revenge for that horrible picture. I tip toe to my bag and find a permanent marker. I tip toe back to the side of his bed and raise my hand to start drawing on his stupidly handsome face. He stirs and I freeze, he soon settles back down and I move the marker towards his face to start my masterpiece when he suddenly snatches my hand and draws me to him. He rolls over and holds both of my hands above my head, I look up to meet his eyes and see him smirking.

"Did you think I didn't see you enter? Even if I didn't, your footsteps while tip toeing is as loud as a hippo's doing a tap dance" He says.

Dammit, my friends have always told me I'd never survive a spy mission because the words stealth and Daisy don't go in the same sentence.

"Shut up and get off me" I squirm trying to make him release me.

"I don't know, I rather like this position very much" He says as his face comes closer to mine.

"What are you doing" I whisper in a shaky voice. He doesn't answer but his face continues to move closer to mine. I shut my eyes tight as my heart beat sky rockets.

"You'd never be able to sneak up on me Daisy" He whispers with a deep voice in my ear.

He then pulls back and releases me. I quickly jump out of his bed. He stands up too and towers over me still smirking.

"Why were you so nervous, did you think I was going to do something as silly as kiss you?"

He says as if the thought of kissing me was a joke. For a second back there, yes, I'd really thought he was going to kiss me. The alarming fact was I wasn't all that repulsed by the thought.

Chapter 6 Preview

Hunter's POV

"Why were you so nervous, did you think I was going do something as silly as kiss you?" I ask her.

Her face scrunches up in distaste and if I wasn't confident of myself, my ego would have taken a strong hit. This girl really is bad for my ego; I mean girls go crazy to get a chance to be with me. Not trying to sound conceited or anything, I'm just stating facts.

"Nnnoo, definitely not". She stammers then hurriedly walks to her side of the tent and start unpacking absent mindedly.

Ughh, I have since given up trying to understand girls and I'm not about to start again so I settle back on my bed and drop my right hand over my eyes pretending to sleep.

I watch her unpack with the corner of my eyes and find myself mesmerized as she walks around her side of the tent arranging her things.

I'm not blind, I've always considered Daisy pretty but right now, I find it damn near impossible to take my eyes off her. She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.

Earlier, when she was on my bed, under me, it took all the will power I had and it wasn't even that much to begin with not to take her plump lips for a kiss.

I'm dying to know how she tastes, would it be citrus like her scent that has been driving me crazy all day? Damn it! Why am I thinking about kissing Daisy?

Clearly, it's been too long since I've gotten laid. It's been two weeks. Two whole fucking weeks! I remember the reason why I haven't had time for any girl lately and I feel like throwing a lamp against a wall. For the past two weeks, my father has been pestering me to agree to an arranged marriage deal he's negotiating with the owner of a company he wants to merge with.

My father isn't a heartless business man that has no time for his children like the media portrays a lot of businessmen  but when he makes a decision that he thinks will be best for his chain of companies, nothing – not even 30 angels accompanied by 50 devils can change his mind.

He tried to change my mind by saying we could eventually fall in love like he and my mother did and that we don't have to get married immediately but we have be engaged and wait till we both finish college and I take over the company before getting married.

Hell no, I'm only 18. Who does that to his child? I don't even know the girl in question, probably a spoiled brat with a knack for buying out a department store every time she goes shopping. This camp was a means of escape from everything, home, responsibility and even school. I push all worries to the back of my mind and slowly drift off to sleep.

It feels like I've just closed my eyes when I hear my friends' loud laughter outside the tent. "Get your ass out of that tent before I come in there and kick it for you. You've been asleep for four whole hours" Blake hollers. I groan and glare at the tent entrance, that guy couldn't be quiet even if his life depended on it.

I throw on a leather pant, a white tshirt, and my jacket and look around the tent for Daisy but she was nowhere to be found. I shrug and go out to meet my friends.

I join my friends and notice Dean and Daisy afar off by the tree we sat under earlier sitting beside each other and talking. Daisy suddenly throws her head back and laughs.

She never laughs like that with me, in fact I can't remember a time when she has ever smiled genuinely at me. I fight down the urge to snatch Daisy away and deck my best friend. Fuck it, what's wrong with me?

Why would I ever wanna deck my best friend because of Daisy? I shake my head. I'm definitely finding a girl to be with tonight......

After eating dinner, a huge camp fire was made and everybody gathered there to hang out. My friends and I had made plans to hang out in a secluded part of the camp ground so we gather there. We start chatting about nothing in particular when we hear footsteps approaching.

"Must be the girls" Mark says.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you guys, I also invited Stephanie, Tiffany, Taylor and a couple other girls to hang out with us" Daniel adds sheepishly.

Taylor? Not Taylor again. I can't really tell Taylor to fuck off either because we had been friends during our childhood but when we entered highschool; the Taylor I knew vanished without a trace and became preppy Taylor with nothing in her head except air. I've hooked up with her a couple of times because damn it, I'm a guy and she's hot, but she has some sick notions about a fairy tale ending. Sometimes I wonder where the old nice and kind Taylor went.

Daisy and her friends appear around the corner and I go instantly sit up straight. She was wearing a red dress that ends mid thigh, low heels and minimal make up, but stood out among her friends.

She looks around us sitting in a circle around our little camp fire and when her gaze lands on Dean, she smiles and moves to sit beside him. I let out an involuntary growl and Mark who was sitting beside me gave me a 'what the hell' look.

I ignore him and focus on Dean that was sitting too close to Daisy in my opinion even though they were about a lot of inches apart. Her friends sit between the other guys.

Five minutes later, the other girls arrive and sit down. Taylor and Tiffany sit on both of my side. Stephanie sits beside Blake and sends Bloom a friend of Daisy that was sitting on Blake's other side a mean glare.

The other girls – Rain, Cassie and Ruby sit between Tyler and Daniel. I snatch a beer from the corner the beer carton was stacked. Our original plan was to get wasted tonight and it seems that plan was still holding because all the guys have already consumed at least two cans of beer.

"Let's play spin the bottle" Daniel says.

"We don't have a bottle" Tyler reminds him.

"Truth or dare then" he tries again and We all murmur our agreement.

"Blake, you go first, truth or dare?" Daniel asks.

"Dare" Blake answers confidently. Daniel smirks mischievously

"I dare you to twerk to a whole song from the beginning to the end" he says.

"Hell, no" Blake screeches like a girl. Daniel smirks harder making me worry for his mouth, has he never heard of face freeze?

"A dare is a dare". He says

Blake sighs and stands up, he points to Daniel "give me music, asshole". Daniel obliges and plays Nicki Minaj – Anaconda, Blake begins to twerk and we all fall into fits of laughter. I take out my phone from my pocket and begin to record Blake's twerking moment ignoring the cracked screen. I need to get a new phone once I return home.

This will be my blackmail ammunition against Blake for years to come.

After Blake finishes twerking, we continue to play truth or dare for a while and finally, Dean's turn came. "Truth or Dare?" Mark asks Dean.

"Dare" He answers.

Mark smirks at Dean "I dare you to kiss Daisy, tongue and all"

What?

Oh, Hell no.

Hunter's POV

Daisy jerks and her eyes widen in shock while Dean smirks and turns to Daisy who was as still as a statue. His eyes twinkle with amusement and maybe a hint of interest. It better not be!

I don't even know why I'm so agitated about this. It's just plain ol' annoying, infuriating, ego assassin, beautiful, smart, sexy.........Daisy. Here I go again.

I might not like daisy but I know I'm uncomfortable with this dare so it isn't gonna happen. I'll make sure of it.

Meanwhile, Dean cups Daisy's face and smiles at her but she doesn't smile back since she was still frozen. I try to catch Mark's eyes and when he finally looks at me, I mouth "change the dare, you owe me" to him. He really does owe me; I saved his ass last week.

If Mark was surprised by my request, he didn't show it. He quickly remedies the situation.

"Dean wait, I have an even better dare for you" He says stopping Dean whose face was about 3 inches apart from Daisy's. Daisy face turns into one of disappointment.

Dean pulls away from Daisy and stare quizzically at Mark. "Bring it on, I'm not afraid of anything" He says.

"Umm.....let's see" Mark says while trying to think of a new dare. "I dare you to sneak into Mr. Fiddles' tent and steal one of his..." Mark shudders in horror "......boxers" he completes. "And hang it on that tree by the cleared space" he hastily adds.

Dean smirks, stands up and walks in the direction of Mr. Fiddles' tent. I've got to give it to him though, he didn't hesitate to follow the dare .We wait for a while and continue playing the game and 10 minutes later, Dean reappears.

"All done" he says obviously delighted with himself. I can't wait to see Mr. Fiddles' reaction tomorrow.

Dean settles back down and asks Daisy "so, truth or dare?"

"Truth" she answers.

"Awww, you're no fun" Dean teases her.

"Okay, do you have anyone you're currently seeing" He asks her.

Why on earth would he ask her that? What's it to him? But I also want to know the answer to that question so I stare waiting for her answer.

She blushes, actually blushes!

"No, I don't" she answers shaking her head. I relax my shoulders that I didn't realize were tense before.

"Cool" dean says casually.

"Truth or Dare" She asks Chloe.

"Dare" Chloe answers instantly.

"I dare you to.....................................

Daisy's POV

5 hours later, everybody was pretty wasted except me. We decided to call it a day and go back to our tents. I notice Bloom's gaze following Blake who was holding Stephanie by the waist and leading her to his tent. I lay a comforting hand on her shoulder and she turns and gives me a sad drunken smile. I walk my friends to their tent to make sure any douche wouldn't be able to take advantage of them in their drunken stupor.

After tucking them in, I walk back to my tent. I enter the tent and immediately turn on the battery operated lamp to get rid of the darkness because I'm terribly scared of darkness. Childish to you maybe, but it's a phobia to me. Darkness always brings back memories I've buried long ago.

Snap out of it, Daisy.

I shake my head to clear my thoughts.

With the faint glow of the lamp, I notice Hunter sprawled on his bed with one leg hanging off.

I scoff, typical.

I go to the side of his bed and wave one hand in front of his face to make sure he was asleep. He doesn't stir so I take it as an affirmative. I return to my side of the tent to prepare for bed. I take off my dress leaving me only in my underwear and put on the camisole I always wore to bed. I then unhook and remove my bra from under the camisole

Finally lying in bed, waiting for sleep to consume me; all events of the day come crashing into my head. It was indeed a very long day. My thoughts go back to that moment Dean was about to kiss me and I berate myself for wishing it was another boy a boy with blond hair and hazel eyes and the ability to annoy me to the end of the earth who was in Dean's place.

Slowly, I start to drift off to sleep when the lamp suddenly goes off. I start to panic. "Hunter" I call out.

"What?" He responds, his voice groggy from the little sleep he got.

"Turn on the lamp" I tell him.

"I can't sleep with it on". He says.

Sweat breaks out on my skin in fear. "Please" I plead.

"No" he answers.

I start to shake in terror, memories come crashing in my head and I start to hyperventilate.

"Daisy!" someone says but I'm lost in my own head. Horrible memories of the past Starr filling my head. "Daisy!" the person calls again. "Daisy!" the person calls out to me while shaking me. I snap out of it to see Hunter squatting beside my bed, his hands on my shoulders probably from shaking me and trying to snap me out of my own head.

"What's wrong?" he asks. I stare at him blankly.

His eyes widen in realization. "You are scared of the dark" He states and I nod.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know" he says looking genuinely sorry. "I'll leave the lamp on for you" he says while at the same time turning on the lamp.

He returns to his bed and I watch him as he lies down and turn to face me. We stare at each other until I finally drift off to sleep.

Light hits my face and I wake up from my dreamless but nonetheless peaceful sleep. I sit up and run a hand through my blonde hair to tame it a little.

My gaze moves to Hunter's bed to see that he was no longer in it, in fact he wasn't even in the tent. I stand up and make to get ready for the day.

I gather my toiletries and clothes and go to the pink trailer parked in the cleared space of the camping ground. The blue trailer was on the opposite side of the camping ground. The trailers were our bathrooms for the camping trip.

As you've already guessed, the pink one was for the girls while the blue was for the boys. After taking my bath and dressing up, I apply makeup. Just as I begin brushing my hair, memories of last night rear up and I smile at Hunter's actions. He was really considerate last night, sweet even.

Even though he said he couldn't sleep with the lights on, he still left them on for me. I wonder if I had been wrong about him all along. Who knows?

Chapter 8 Preview

Daisy's POV

I exit the trailer and start to walk in the direction of the tent when I spot Chloe and Bloom watching something on their phone and giggling afar off and I turn to move in their direction instead.

"Hey, what are you cork screws up to?" I say hugging them both.

They start to giggle again and my curiosity starts to pique. "It's" giggle "just so" laughs "funny" Chloe manages to cackle out between her laughs.

"What's funny?" I say giggling even though I don't know what they were laughing about but Chloe's laugh was just so infectious.

"This" Bloom answers shoving the phone they were staring at earlier in my face.

I notice a paused video and I restart it. It was a video starring Mr. Fiddles when he gathered the students in the cleared space to give them their assignment for the camp. Clearly, I overslept.

Mr. Fiddles back was facing the tree that his boxer was hung but he was completely unaware of it.

"Your project assignment is to find a medicinal plant, study it, recognize it, state its uses and the product it can be made into". Mr. Fiddles bellows trying to fall into the role of authority since he was the teacher in charge.

He continues to order them what he wants done and the consequences of not completing the project by the end of the week when Mark suddenly speaks up.

"Uhmm................you've got a little something there" he says pointing to the boxer gloriously hanging on the tree branch.

Mr. Fiddles face reddens in recognition but he quickly covers it up. "Who is the shameless rascal that decided to turn his underwear into a flag?" he asks obviously trying to not show it was his.

"I believe it might be yours" Dean points out in the video and I take a little moment to sigh at his perfectness.

"Why would that horrible thing belong to me" Mr. Fiddles asks feigning disgust.

"Because it has your name on it" Dean says walking towards the boxers and lifting it up to reveal the boxer's band that clearly says in bold written letters. 'To FIDDLES MY BABY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. LOVE, MAMA '

Mr. Fiddles face turns into the color of a fire truck as he snatches his property from a smirking Dean and tucks it in his pocket. He glares at all the students present in the cleared space and storms off.

He had always reminded me of Mr. Crocker in Fairy Odd Parents. I'm just saying.

The video finishes after the 4 minutes, 20 seconds it lasted and I burst into laughter.

"That was hilarious!" I croak out still laughing.

"I know right? I mean did you........" Bloom pauses trying to breath between her laughter "...see his face?" she finishes. I try to stop laughing but the harder I try the more it increases.

"What's so funny?" A deep voice whispers in my ear and a sense of déjà' vu washes over me. I turn and see Hunter standing beside me, his hands in his pockets looking completely relaxed.

I hadn't thought everything that happened last night through yet so I don't know how to act around him. His friends approach us from the opposite side Hunter came from.

"You look like death" is the first thing Dean says to Hunter when they finally reach where we were standing.

I look up at him and see nothing different from his usually perfect face.

"I feel like death, I didn't sleep a wink last night thanks to someone" he replies while staring me in the eye as if to say 'that's right, it's your fault'.

Everyone turns to give me questioning looks but I ignore them.

"We should get started on our project" Bloom says to Chloe probably trying to avoid seeing Blake any longer.

Chloe easily picks up the hidden message and they both say their 'see you later' and walk off to God knows where. The guys also go to find their own partners leaving only me and Hunter.

"So........" I trail off not knowing what to say to him. "Let's go get started" I finally say.

He nods and starts walking in the direction of the river prompting me to follow him.

"I have an idea of what plant we can work on, it's called a sage plant" He says. "I noticed some growing by the river earlier" He adds.

He continues to talk not once mentioning what happened last night. And even though I don't want to talk about it especially with Hunter, I know I should say thanks.

"Hey, Hunter" I call out to him drawing his attention to me.

"Thanks for last night" I say awkwardly. If anyone had ever told me I'd be saying thank you to Hunter one day, I would have laughed in that person's face and called him/her crazy.

He smirks and raises an eyebrow "There's no need to thank me, consider what I did as a reward for the strip tease you gave me when you were preparing for bed last night". He says then continues to walk away.

My jaw drops open, literally.

I thought he was asleep! That jerk!!

All mushy feelings that Hunter might actually be a nice guy that I'd developed overnight vanishes like smoke and I feel like strangling him. Now this was what I was used to.

I run and finally catch up with him by the river and see him bending while picking up pebbles to throw in the river.

It's revenge time.

I try my best to sneak up on him. You'd think I would have learned my lesson since the last time I tried it didn't work out so well for me but I obviously didn't.

I get close enough to push him in the river and pull back my hand ready to push him in. As if he has a Daisy radar, he turns to face me just as I push him making him catch my wrist trying to maintain balance. But since I weighed nothing compared to him, we both go tumbling in the water.

Damn it! Another failed attempt at revenge.

I fall on top of him and his hands wrap around my waist making me feel as if I was in some kind of romance novel. Only if this was a romance novel, it would be a tragedy in which the girl ends up killing the boy.

I groan as I feel water seeping in my clothes. "I hate you" I say glaring at him.

He doesn't answer and look at his face to see him smirking. "What's so funny?" I snap.

"You look like a little kitten when angry" he answers still not letting go of his hold on me.

"Let me go" I puff out angrily.

Thankfully, he obliges and I stand up and walk to the river bank; water dripping from my clothes. Hunter follows and takes off his shirt and I find my eyes automatically moving down his chest. There's only one world for it; WOW!

"Take a picture, hippo, it lasts longer" Hunter says cockily.

Hippo?

"Who's Hippo?" I ask him.

He gives me a 'duh' look "Have you forgotten the tip toeing incident?" he asks.

I remember my first failed revenge plan yesterday and my face heats up. But seriously, Hippo? That's the most uncute nickname of all uncute nicknames, not that I want a cute nickname from Hunter or anything.

I ignore him and take off my jacket while making my way back to the tent. I hear his loud chuckle as I continue to walk away.

When I was about 100 meters to the tent, I start hearing whimpers and the little bush beside the path starts to rumble. I know I should probably run but curiosity killed the cat, right?

I take slow cautious steps towards the bush and pick up a tiny stick since it was the best I could get at that moment to ward off any potential danger.

"I've got a stick and I'm not afraid to use it" I say trying to scare off whatever it was that was in the bush. Something suddenly jumps out and I throw away the stick and start to run like hell was after me.

As I continue to run, I hear a tiny bark and turn back to see a tiny Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog staring at me with pleading eyes.

What's a puppy doing here all alone? Is it lost? Is his owner around here somewhere? I rule out the last question because the school had rented out the entire camping area for the week.

The dog walks up to me and licks my toes that were exposed from the sandal I wore. I think it stole my heart that moment but I can't keep it. What if Hunter the spawn of the devil sees it? I can't even imagine that scenario.

"Shoo, go back to your owner" I say waving my hand to make it go away.

It whimpers again as if it understood what I said.

I sigh, "You don't understand, it's not you, it's me" I try again.

I can't believe I'm actually speaking to a dog as if I'm breaking up with it. Could this morning get any crazier?

It continues to stare at me and I sigh, giving up and scoop it into my arms. It licks my face happily and gives me a look filled with adoration.

I take it into the tent and quickly go outside to check if the coast is clear. I return back inside and see the puppy giving me an innocent look.

"What did you do?" I ask giving it a suspicious look.

I look around the tent to check if anything was out of place when I see something brown on Hunter's bed.

It better not be what I think it is!

I move closer to inspect it to see poop coiled like an icing on a cake decorating Hunter's bed.

Oh my God!

Hunter's POV

I watch Daisy as she angrily marches away and I can't stop my eyes from watching her as she sashays. I'm being a pervert, I know. After I lose sight of her, I put on my wet shirt and make my way to the tent to change my clothes.

At the entrance, I hear someone talking in a panicked voice and a whimper in the tent.

What the hell!

Did Daisy bring a guy in our tent?

I can't stop the rage and disappointment I feel at that thought. That guy isn't going to walk out of there in one piece if I have anything to say about it.

I enter the tent abruptly to find Daisy spreading a huge blanket over my bed. When she finally notices my entrance, she suddenly sits on the space that she spread the blanket on.

"Hey, Hunter" She greets me cheerily, too cheerily. Something's up.

I walk closer to my bed expecting her to get up but she grabs the edge of the bed firmly with both hands.

"What are you doing on my bed?" I ask her.

"Oh me.........nothing, absolutely nothing, why would I ever want to do anything to you? Can't I just chill on your bed as roommates" she answers in a high pitched tone looking at everything but me.

I lean into her personal space to get in her face. "Oh really?" I ask again.

"Nnno....I mean yes" she stutters.

I continue to lean closer while she leans back till she was lying on the bed. I place both of my hands at the side of her head to trap her in.

Her eyes dart to the left and right frantically searching for an escape. She bites her lip in anxiousness and my eyes become fixed particularly to her pink plump lips.

I move my face closer to hers leaving only about 2 inches of space between us.

"Hhunter?" she breathes.

"Don't do that" I groan in a strained voice.

"Do what?" She breathes lowly that I barely heard her.

"Don't bite your lips" I answer my eyes still fixed on her lips.

She quickly releases her lips but runs her tongue over it instead.

An ache so deep to feel her lips moving against mine, to have her in my arms lodge in my throat and I feel as if I won't be able to breathe if I didn't.

I start to finally close the space between us and her hands wrap around my neck. My sole attention was on the thing that had been bothering me since we began this camp trip: her lips.

I lift my eyes to hers and something leaps in my chest.

Rrwoof. Huh?

Rrwoof, Rrwoofwoof.

What the fuck is making that sound?

I lift my head only to see a puppy standing by the side of the bed barking happily.

Oh, it's just a puppy.

I turn back to face Daisy hoping to continue what I was about to do when realization sinks in.

A puppy?

A freaking puppy?!

A freaking puppy in our tent?!!

"What is a puppy doing in our tent?" I ask her calmly, the opposite of what I was feeling was.

"A puppy? I don't see any puppy" She says trying to act ignorant.

At that moment, the puppy walks up to her and licks her feet. I scoff. Try to act dumb now.

"You have to understand, I can't just leave it in the bush. What if it accidentally wanders into the jungle and gets adopted by tigers to be trained to start killing people or oh my god, what if it gets swallowed by a python. It's too young to die" she exclaims.

I raise an eyebrow at her rant.

She sighs "Look Hunter, I'll make sure it doesn't disturb you till this camp is over, just please keep this a secret" She pleads.

"And if it does?" I ask her.

"What?" she says giving me a confused look.

"I said what if it does disturb me?" I ask her frustrated.

"It won't. And if it does, you won't report this to the authorities right?" she says looking at me hopefully.

"That depends" I say.

"On what?" she asks wearily.

"You'd have to do anything I tell you" I smirk.

"It won't bother you anyway so I have nothing to worry about" She confidently says.

I nod and walk to where my clothes were hung and take off my shirt and pants ignoring the fact that Daisy was in the tent. I hear a gasp behind me followed by footsteps hurrying towards the door. I smirk but that smirk soon fades when I remember the moment when I was about to kiss Daisy. I don't know if I should be glad or mad that the puppy interrupted us.

What would it have felt like?

What would it have meant?

Why would I ever be thinking those questions?

It's all probably because I haven't been with a girl in a while and she was the only girl within reach.

I suddenly feel something rubbing against my leg and I look down to see the puppy giving me an expectant look.

"What? You cockblocker" Well, there's my answer; I guess I'm mad at it. Speaking of the dog, I don't know if it's a boy or girl. I lift the tiny dog up and peer under it.

It's a male.

I put it down but he refuses to go away.

"Seriously, what do you want?" I ask again and he continues to stare at me.

I sigh reaching into my backpack and search for any little harmless object I can find for it to play with. When I can't find anything, I go to Daisy's side of the tent and pick out a green head band and give it to him. He barks in excitement and walks off to lie down on Daisy's bed chewing on the head band furiously.

Oh well, she can't get mad, she owns the dog after all.

I go outside the tent to find Daisy waiting outside the door.

"Why did you run out? You didn't seem to have a problem with my shirtlessness by the river bank" I confidently state.

"Whatever" she says brushing past me to go inside the tent and her scent waft into my nose making me inhale more air.

She smells so fucking good.

I resist the urge to drag her back by her wrist and pull her into my arms to finally get to feel all that is Daisy against me.

Damn it, what is she doing to me?

Chapter 10 Preview

Daisy's POV

I enter the tent and exhale deeply.

Hunter and I have been at each other's throat for almost 3 years now, so why the sudden attraction? If he had kissed me, what would I have done? In that moment, I probably might have kissed him back.

I start a mantra in my head to put everything back in place.

You have a crush on Dean and no one else, Hunter is just a stupid jerk

You have a crush on Dean and no one else, Hunter is just a stupid jerk

You have a crush on Dean and no one else, Hunter is just a handsome and considerate...................

Ughh

I hear growling coming from my side of the tent and I turn to see the dog munching on something green. I ignore it and proceed to change my clothes.

I prepare to move out of the tent when I realize I had forgotten my bracelet. It was my mother's gift for my fourteenth birthday just before she was murdered.

I blink back tears and try my best to forget the horrible incident that led to my mother being killed and my phobia of darkness.

"Hurry up, we have to start this project or we'll never finish before the deadline" Hunter calls to me from outside the tent.

"I wouldn't have needed to change my clothes if some moron hadn't dragged me into the river!" I scream at him harder than I intended trying to pass all the hurt I was feeling at the moment to him.

"What's with the mood? You sure it's not that time of the month?" he says coming inside the tent and eyeing me wearily.

I ignore him as I scan the tent area with my eyes trying to remember where I placed the bracelet and I see it beside my pillow. I sigh in relief and move to take it when something catches my attention.

Wasn't that my headband the dog was chewing on?

I move closer to try and dislodge the nesting thought in my brain. When I finally confirm that it was mine, I snatch it away from the dog and lift the tattered ruin in disbelieve.

"Oh that" Hunter says pointing to the headband "I gave it to it when it wouldn't leave me alone". He adds.

"You gave it my head band?" I ask giving him an incredulous look.

"It's just a head band, get over it. Besides you were the one who brought a dog in here not me. The dog is a 'he' by the way"

"It was special to me!" I all but shouted in his face trying to make a big deal out of it.

"What? A gift from your boyfriend?" he asks as if it's impossible for me to have a boyfriend.

"Yes and now it's all ruined" I shriek.

Of course I didn't have a boyfriend, but he didn't know that. And I really liked that head band.

He scoffs "You said differently yester night" he says trying to call my bluff.

"Well I lied, okay" I reply composing my face into one of someone speaking the truth.

His face darkens.

"Just get out and let's get this project over with" he states turning to walk out the tent.

What crawled up his ass and died?

I throw the remains of the head band back to the dog; it wouldn't be useful for me anymore anyway.

I gather my note and pen and follow Hunter back to the river to start the project.

EVENING

We worked all day on the project and I was quite surprised to find out just how smart Hunter really is.

After eating dinner and bidding good night to my friends, I go back to the tent to prepare for bed.

10 minutes later, I was happily settled on my bed ready to sleep when Hunter comes in.

I remember that the dog had pooped on his bed earlier so I quickly pretend as if I was asleep. I didn't want to be the focus of his anger, not tonight anyway; I was too tired for that.

I observe him out of the corner of my eye and watch as he takes off his shirt and draws back the blanket I'd spread on his bed earlier to cover up the stains on it.

"What the hell?" He exclaims.

I start to breathe in and out evenly to make my pretense look more real.

"Daisy!" he calls out to me but I don't stir.

He mutters something under his breath and I feel him climbing into my bed.

What is he doing?

Why is he climbing in my bed?

Go back to your poopinfested bed!!!

I can't say that out loud though because I'm supposed to be asleep.

He shifts closer and I forget how to breathe. 15 minutes later but who's counting, his breathing evens out driving home the fact that he was asleep.

I blame the puppy who I'd finally decided to name King for putting me in this situation.

I sigh quietly and shift to the end of the bed to put some distance between us because my hormones were going crazy by just being near him.

I suddenly feel his arm wrap around my waist and pull me against him. He runs his hands over my bare arm and I almost sigh at just how good his touch feels on my skin.

"Hunter?" I call out to know if he was awake.

No response.

"Hunter?" I call out again

He doesn't respond so I conclude he's asleep.

This isn't fair! Why should he be able to sleep peacefully while I was nearly intoxicated with his presence?

He pulls me closer and rests his head in the crook of my neck making me freeze. I should probably leave the bed but I couldn't even bring myself to move.

This is all so wrong. Hunter's arms around me shouldn't feel so good. I shouldn't be feeling like I was home in his arms. This shouldn't all seem so perfect.

All this thoughts have brought me to one conclusion, I think something's wrong with me.

If something is wrong with me, I should probably enjoy the wrongness while it lasts so I relax in Hunter's arms and lay my right arm over his hand that was wrapped around my waist.

Tomorrow, everything can go back to normal.
