THIRD PERSON’S POV

Shranaia is fleeing the woods, and someone is chasing her for an unknown reason, but she has no idea what it may be. Her pulse was beating from nervousness; she had no idea how she arrived at the woodland or how to get away. Her feet ached because she was barefoot. She tripped over what she was gazing at and was injured as a result. The beast following her smelled her blood. Even though she was in agony, she ignored it since the person who was after her could easily track her.

She continued to run, and at that time, she did not look behind her. No matter what happened, she had to get out of that forest. She hears rustling all around, and she feels fear every time. She could feel that the person chasing her was closer to her.

“AHHHH!” she shouted, and the shout echoed throughout the forest.

An animal heard that and looked in the direction where it was. Shranaia saw no way to escape from that animal. This is a big dog that is very fierce and has strange colored eyes. Its fur is black, and its eyes are red. She was about to kill when suddenly a wolfdog jumped out from behind her making her eyes widen.

She held her left chest, and it was like, she was chasing her breath. Another wolf arrived that was different in color from the one chasing her. It seemed to protect her from the strange wolf in front of her. She was shaking with so much fear that she was about to pass out. But she couldn’t handle it anymore, and she lost consciousness.

One of them immediately turned into a human and then went to Shranaia. “Is she still alive?” one asked.

“She’s still alive. She just passed out because she was so scared,” he said, then picked up Shranaia.

“You shouldn’t save that girl, Vixen,” said a black wolf.

“You have no right to tell me that, Fergus,” Vixen said forcefully before seizing the girl from her friend. “You just can't accept that I'll be our pack’s Alpha. You know I'm more deserving, and you know I'm stronger than you,” Vixen stated, turning around and raising the lady.

Fergus was about to attack Vixen, when Ron and Ran immediately blocked him. Because of that, Fergus was thrown not far away, Vixen let them fight and returned to their pack. Everyone bowed to them, and everyone respected him. Because his father is already weak, he is the next Alpha of their Pack. When he got Shranaia down, he caressed her face, then he smiled because even though she was tired from running, she was still beautiful. White, flawless skin, and long brown hair.

Vixen turned around and saw his mother smiling at him. She looked at the girl destined to be his son’s Luna, and she didn’t think that in due time her son would become an Alpha. But there were many who tried to kill the appointed Luna and at that time the girl was not yet eighteen years old to become a full wolf.

“This is not the right time, Vixen,” said his mother.

“But they wanted to kill her, Mother,” he said.

He only wanted to keep her safe from the Mystic Pride. He doesn’t know why they want to kill her and why her parents were murdered. There are a lot of things bothering him, and he’s not sure how to tell the woman when the moment is right. Even though he has no idea what is going on, he is eager to protect Shranaia. Another thing is that he started to love her despite the fact that she was much younger than he was.

“But remember that Shranaia is only fifteen,” she reminded him.

Vixen sighed. He needs to return her and get away from harm. When they finished talking, he then returned the girl to the couple who had sheltered the girl since she was a child. He brought her to her room, and he gazed at the beauty of the woman. Before he left, he gave her a necklace that could hide her smell and prevent the black wolves from finding her.

When he left, he gave a reminder to Shranaia’s parents. Shranaia woke up in her room and looked around. She looked outside, held her left chest, then looked in the mirror and saw her reflection. She breathed a sigh of relief and then stood up. But she was stopped when she felt the pain in her foot, and that’s when she saw the wound.

“How?” she confuse ask to herself.

“Shranaia?” she looked at the door, and her mother appeared.

“Mom,” she immediately called her.

“What are you doing?” she asked. She saw the wound on her foot and frowned at her head. “Oh? What happened to your foot? Why do you have a wound?” she asked.

She pretended to be perplexed and unsure of what had happened to her. She has to keep the facts hidden from her because she knows she'll ask her a question, and she needs to explain why.

“I don’t know either. When I woke up, I already had a wound,” she replied, then she left and got a first aid kit.

When it was treated, she went down and saw her father who was eating and looking at her. “Good morning,” he greeted her.

“Good morning, Daddy,” she greeted him as well.

Her parents did not speak about what happened to her and that matter was just a secret. As long as her eighteenth birthday does not come and the blue moon is a sign that she will become a werewolf, no one else can know Shranaia’s true identity. While he was outside of Shranaia’s house, Vixen saw that she went well. Through that, he can watch over the girl, and he has to wait three more years before he can finally become an Alpha.

After eating, Shranaia immediately went up to her room, and when she got there, she remembered her dream, which seemed to be true. She looked at her door and sighed because she knew what happened was true but what she couldn’t understand was why it seemed like everything was just a dream. She noticed the blue necklace that made her frown and wondered how she got it.

“Whether that’s true or not. I don’t want it to happen again,” she said softly and then lay down on her bed.

SHRANAIA’S POV

As I entered the school, I saw Jenny, who was welcoming me. When She got close to me, She then gave me a letter that made me frown. “What is it for?” I to ask her.

“Adriane said it was for you,” she said.

“What should I do with this letter?” I ask again.

“Don’t you read?” she answered with an annoyed face.

I just sighed, then threw it away. Jenny and I started walking, when we got to the classroom, I saw that my table was full of flowers and it was a mess in my eyes. I just winced and then looked at them. No one spoke, and everyone seemed happy and excited about what was happening, while I was annoyed and irritated. I removed it all. I don't care if they say stupid things to me because it doesn’t matter at all. I sat down, then I put down my book, and I heard Krisha talking about me.

“Tsk. You’re the one who gives flowers, you’re still the angry one. You must be thankful because many people like you,” shrewish she said, and I looked at her.

I took a flower that I had already thrown, then I gave it to her, which made everyone shock. “You want it?” I ask her. “If you want it, then have it,” I added as I put it on her desk.

I returned to my chair, then took out my book as well as the notebook. Our teacher has arrived, and Krisha can’t even say a word to me, but I don't care about her because she’s just trash and a troublemaker who doesn’t know how to stop herself to interfere with others. She’s also a feeler because she thinks everyone likes her even though no one likes her.

“Okay, class. In our discussions yesterday, let’s see who remembered and who didn’t. Later I will have a short quiz for you,” said our teacher, and then I adjusted my seat.

Ma’am started discussing until Krisha and I were the only ones to answer her questions, and the others were surprised, even our teacher. But I don't care what they're thinking, and I honestly don't know why Krisha seems to be competing with me. Is she have a mental illness?

“Ok, this is the last question. The first to answer is the winner. What is the name of the city”

Even before Ma'am finished her question, I immediately answered. “Polis.”

“Damn it!” Krisha said irritated, and then I grinned at her. I sat down, then Jenny looked at me.

“What’s going on?” she asked me.

“I also do not know. She is competing with me, I don’t fcvking know why,” I said angrily, then looked at Krisha.

I took a piece of paper, then just focused on our quiz. Actually, there are many people who are annoyed with her, and I am one of them, but the annoying thing is that we are both raising our grades while the others don’t care about us.

But in everything, Krisha always comes second, and she can’t beat me, something that makes her even more frustrated. After the quiz, I got a perfect score, and Krisha got one wrong, so I’m still better than her.

I just grinned at her, when the class was over, Jenny and I thought about going to the canteen.

“Ok, get onehalf sheet of paper, one to twenty.”

“There are many people who like you, but why does not one of them you didn’t like?” Jenny asked suddenly, and I didn’t look at her.

When we got down at the canteen, I saw Eron, he was standing at the entrance of the canteen, and he greeted me. I stopped walking when I saw him. I don’t like it when Eron is there, as his presence either. I felt like he knew that we would go here, so he get here first to see me, and keep pestering me.

“Go back,” I said, then she frowned.

“Huh? You won’t buy anymore?” she wondered.

“No,” I said, and then we both climbed up.

We hadn’t even taken a step when suddenly Krisha was there with both arms crossed while raising her eyebrows at us. “I could be higher than you if I want to. But I didn’t do it because I knew you might cry,” she teased.

I laughed, and then I looked into her eyes. “Well, what do I care if you will gonna higher than me? Why should I cry? Are you gold? Are you important?” I said with confidence.

She couldn’t speak to me, then I looked behind me, and I was surprised to see that Eron was right behind me. He's so near to me. “Gosh Eron!” Jenny said in shock.

“Hi Baby,” he greeted me.

“You’re disgusting shit,” I said irritably.

He came closer to me, and I stepped back a little, and Jenny immediately supported me. “Why do I need to be disgusted? You know that only you are my fantasy,” he whispered, which irritated me.

I pushed him a little, and then I turned away from him. From in front of me, I pulled Krisha, then I pushed her to Eran after that, Jenny and I left them.

I heard Krisha endure the pain when I pushed her, and I knew Eran pushed her because he didn't like it, which made me laugh. Jenny just kept up with me and didn’t complain about what I did.

When we both got back, we just sat in our seats, then I took my book and just read. After class, we decided to go to a cafe where we often hang out, even after school.

While we were walking, I felt like someone was following me, and I couldn’t understand why it seemed to keep coming back to my memory about my dream. I stopped when I heard howling like a dog and when I turned around, I didn't see any dog around, and I didn’t see anything strange either. I don’t know if I’m just imagining it or if it really exists maybe, It was able to hide quickly.

“What’s up?” Jenny asked, and I just shook my head at her.

“Nothing,” I answered, and we continued walking.

SHRANAIA’S POV

After a few days passed, Jenny and I were preparing for the upcoming exam. It’s the second grading, and we have to study hard because we don’t want to lose our rank, and we don’t have any other opponent other than Krisha. I told Jenny to raise Krisha’s grade. That she needs to be considerate because I don’t want her to be top two in this grading. Since our second year, she has been the second rank. She wants to hold that rank. The only case is that I want her to drop more than before.

“Math equations are difficult. How could I raise my rank more than Krisha? Shranaia I’m stupid ok? I’m not as smart as you, please,” she complained, but I glared at her, and she straightened up while I was holding the pen.

“If you don’t raise your rank than her, I could buy the album you want. I know that It’s now on sale. I know your allowance won’t be enough to buy that, but if you can surpass Krisha. I’ll buy you,” I teased her, and then she focused on the reviewer.

We are now in the library. We are mornings, and it’s not forbidden to hang out in the library after class, so even if Jenny and I spend the day here, we never get tired of staying here. Except for Jenny, who is always asleep whenever we both do an advanced reading.

“Shrania.” I turned to the person who called me and frowned when I didn’t see anyone except the other student who was at another table.

“Did you hear that?” I asked Jenny.

“What?” Jenny, curiously asked.

“Someone’s calling me,” I said and looked around.

“Nope. I didn’t hear anything,” she answered, then she looked at me with a frown.

We both just shrugged, and I looked at the book I was holding. While reading, I felt that someone was coming from me, so I immediately looked at it. When I saw Eran, he was smiling, and he was carrying a tulip flower.

“Hi Baby,” he greeted me, but I ignored him. “For you,” he added as he put the flowers on my table.

I still ignored him and kept my eyes on the book I am reading, and even if he sat in front of me and stared at me, I didn’t care because I was a veteran to someone staring at me. I smelled something strange, and I looked out the window, there I saw a man with a white hoodie, I immediately stood up, then ran outside, but when I looked at him, he was gone.

“Baby, who are you looking for? I’m right in front of you,” he said, then I punched his face causing his nose to bleed.

“I don’t fvcking need you,” I said, and went back inside.

I don’t understand why someone always seems to be watching me not far away, and its strange smell seems like I’ve smelled it before, but I can’t remember where and when. After we reviewed, I noticed that Jenny was serious about what she was doing, and I just shook my head because she didn't even hesitate to look back at me. She’s too busy to review just one album.

While we were walking, I was supporting her while we were walking because her eyes were focused on the book she held on to, and if she didn’t focus, she wouldn’t be able to get her album. It’s only a limited edition, that’s why I immediately ordered online, so I wouldn’t run out of stock. When we got to the house, we immediately went inside, and Jenny didn’t want to go home.

“Good afternoon, Tita,” she greeted Mommy.

“Good afternoon to you too. How’s your school?” she asked.

“Well, Shranaia promised me that she's going to buy me a new album,” she replied. “But I need to study first,” she added.

Mommy looked at me and then frowned, and I just laughed, and she did too. She prepared food on the table, and we sat down to eat. “Take it easy, you won't run out of food,” Mama said while helping Jenny to get the food.

“Studying is tiring, so I need energy,” she said, then Mommy laughed.

Jenny is hardworking, it’s just that she doesn't focus too much because she was too focused on being a fangirl. Even so, the effect of my promise on her is not bad. One more thing is that even if she doesn’t make the top 2 in this grading, I will still buy her that album. After eating, we went upstairs to go to my room, and Jenny just washed her face and reviewed again.

I soaked in the tub first, then remembered the man I saw earlier by the window. It’s like I remembered him, and it seems like I know him, but I just can’t remember where. I closed my eyes and felt my body slowly getting heavy like I wanted to sleep.

When I opened my mat, I saw a wolfdog in front of me. It has a human body, but the fur and the head was like a dog. Big and tall for me. I was too stunned to speak, and I didn’t know what to do, I couldn’t move to my place.

“Soon, I’ll have a chance to touch you, Shranaia. It won’t take long for you to become a fullfledged wolf. You will be mine, and no one can claim you but me.” He held my face and gradually brought his face closer to mine.

“SHRANAIA!!!” I got up and looked around.

I immediately took a breath, then coughed because I was submerged in water. I stood up and opened the door, then I looked at Jenny, who was worried about me. I immediately hugged her, and I became weak for unknown reasons to me. I felt like I was running away from something that I didn’t know what was that, and at that moment, I immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

“What happened? Are you ok? Tell me,” she said while parting my hair and looking into my eyes.

“II’m fine... II just had a nightmare,” I replied, and then she hugged me.

I almost drowned because of that. I looked in the mirror and saw fear in my eyes. After that, I got dressed, then we decided to go to sleep. I’m trying to forget my dream, but what that creature said was replaying over and over again in my brain, and I felt like I’m going crazy.

“I’m a werewolf?” I wondered, ask myself.

SHRANAIA’S POV

I had a good night’s sleep and didn’t even think about what had happened the previous day when I woke up. When we arrived at the school, I looked at the students who had gathered because new teachers had recently moved to our campus.

I have no idea who they are, but rumors have it that they are wellknown at other colleges as well. I was merely going back when Jenny looked at me and seemed that she want us to go with what they were looking at.

I was just surprised when she suddenly pulled me, and I didn’t do anything but go with her.

When we arrived, I noticed a man right away whose face felt familiar to me; I’m not sure if we both looked at each other or if it was just in my imagination. But Jenny’s smile returned when she saw attractive men again. I simply held my breath as the shouts of the women around made me completely deaf.

“They are so handsome, you wouldn’t believe it, could you?” asked the eighthgrader.

“Yes, you are correct. Right then, I want to marry that guy!” She points toward the male I was earlier making eye contact with.

I covered my nose because I smelled something odd. Even though it smells fine, I don’t like how it affects me. You become nauseated when it smells too strongly. After leaving the gathering of girls, I sat to one side and waited for Jenny to emerge. A man sat down next to me as I waited, and I couldn’t help but stare at him.

“Hi,” he greeted me.

I scowled at him and experienced a weird feeling of weight and nervousness. I also said, “Hello,” to him.

“I’m a new student here, I got lost looking for my next lesson,” he said, then scratched his neck.

“Where is your next class?” I asked.

“In the third building on the third level, but I don’t know where the third building is,” I looked at the other building after he stated.

"That’s the third building; just look for the room number,” I informed him. He nodded and smiled at me.

“Thank you!” he smiled broadly before waving off.

I also waved and, of course, smiled at him. It's too bad I didn’t smile at him. Jenny eventually appeared with a big smile on her lips. I just rolled my eyes and invited her to come in because our class was about to begin. We entered just as we were about to catch up with a teacher. I immediately came to a halt, then motioned for him to go first, and he simply nodded and thanked me. His strange smile makes me stir up, and I gasped when Jenny abruptly tapped my shoulder.

“He’s one of the new teachers!” she exclaimed, and she seemed tickling.

I just walked in, she followed, and we sat down. He is said to be the substitute teacher today because our teacher is not present. I noticed his constant glances at me while he was discussing, and the strange smell I smelled earlier was still in the room. I immediately covered my nose because the smell made me feel sick.

“Why are you covering your nose? Do I stink?” Jenny asked abruptly, and I shook my head at her.

It was smelling around, and I knew she didn’t smell the same thing I did. Apart from that, this is something I’ve been wondering about for a long time because I smelled something that others didn’t, and it’s not insignificant that I see more clearly than others. But, even if I sometimes ignore it, that thing doesn’t bother me.

“What did you smell?” she was curious. Her eyes widened, and she pointed to my nose when she looked at me. “Your nose is bleeding!” she said as our teacher was looking at me.

I examined my hand and noticed that it was stained with blood. That’s why I smell a fishy unpleasant smell. I immediately stood up and apologized, but also Jenny followed me and gave me a tissue. When we arrived at the clinic, the nurse handed me a tissue, which I accepted.

“Why did you have a nosebleed?” the nurse inquired.

“I’m not sure either,” I answered.

“Didn’t you say you smelled something earlier? Maybe that’s why?” Jenny inquired.

‘What did you smell that set off your nose?” inquired the nurse.

“Something that smelled musty,” I said, and she nodded.

“The scent of perfume is bad for your nose. When you smell something like that, you should stay away so your nose doesn't trigger it and made you bleed,” she said, and I nodded.

I’m not sure how long Jenny and I stayed at the clinic until that representative teacher’s class ended. When we returned to the room, my classmates asked if I was okay or if I wasn’t feeling well, but I went in anyway. I shook my head at them before turning to face Jenny.

“Don’t use strong perfumes because she can smell them, and it triggers her nose, causing her to bleed,” Jenny advised.

“Woah, you are allergic to perfume?” Sam questioned.

“Yes,” I replied.

“I had no idea you had one?” Joel stated.

“You don’t need to know,” I replied, and he and Jenny exchanged glances before Jenny burst out laughing.

“Whoa!!! Boom!” she said, and I rolled my eyes.

When the next class began, I couldn’t smell the strange perfume anymore, and when the class ended, Jenny inquired about it and what kind of perfume it was. I told her I had earlier smelled the teacher’s perfume. She looked at me, frowned, and realized what perfume I was talking about.

“Does that have a red rose scent?” she wondered.

“Yes, but a brave one,” I replied.

“But I only smelled it up close,” she said, but then I shook my head.

“I don’t care as long as it stinks to me,” I said, and we walked home.

Today is Friday, and we had no intention of picking us up with our drivers. When I arrived home, Mommy and Daddy greeted me, while Jenny said goodbyes to them. I took a deep breath and sat besides Daddy.

“How’s school?” asked Daddy.

“It’s fine. Although our new teacher's perfume had a negative impact on me,” I said, and Mommy frowned.

“Teacher?” she inquires.

“Yes,” I replied.

Their faces were surprised, but I didn’t bother because I was already hungry. Another thing is that I was tired earlier in our tests, and luckily, one of our subjects was absent, so the headache didn’t bother me this day.

SHRANAIA’S POV

Jenny’s face was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. Because of the shock, I immediately stood up and handed my chest. She just laughed at me as if something was funny; one thing was that I hadn’t locked the door, so she got in easily.

Fortunately, it’s Saturday, and we don’t have school, but I can’t relax because there’s still so much to do. Our teacher assigned us a lot of homework, which left me with a lot of things to do.

I want to rest forever so that I can have peace of mind meanwhile.

“Good morning, Princess,” she greeted me as if something good had happened this morning.

“My morning isn’t going well if I only see you,” I muttered, and she snorted.

“You know how ugly your behavior is, don’t you?” she asked irritably, and I rolled my eyes at her.

“I don’t have time to be a plastic with you,” I said, pulling back my hair, and then I heard something outside as if someone was there. I’m not sure what that was or who it was.

I stood up and looked out my window, but there was nothing unusual to see, but I smelled what I smelled yesterday. Jenny approached me and asked what was wrong with me, so I immediately covered my nose. I couldn’t tell her what I had smelled. I'm not going to say anything because she might think something of me. I don't want her to be concerned about me.

“What’s wrong with you?” she wondered ask.

“Let’s go downstairs,” I said, taking her hand in mine.

“What? Why?” she asks, puzzled.

I didn’t wait for her response before we headed down. I’m not sure why I heard unusual footsteps from the balcony to the room, but Mommy was making breakfast when we arrived downstairs. She looked at Jenny and me, then asked what was wrong.

“Auntie, your daughter has smelled something strange,” Jenny murmured, and I noticed her and Daddy’s eyes widen as they glanced at each other.

“Do you have any idea of my condition?” I said, and they promptly shook their heads.

“Ah... nah... nothing,” Mommy said.

“Yeah, nothing,” Daddy said, taking his cup of coffee, and sipping it.

I’m not sure what they're thinking, but I know there’s something distinctive about them that they won’t tell me. I just groaned and looked at the stairs to see if anyone was passing by, but there was no one.

We had barely finished breakfast with them when I noticed a shift in their mood. Mommy motioned to Daddy, who rose up and they went to the living room to have a discussion.

But I didn't intend to listen to what they were going to discuss because I didn’t have any plans. Another thing is that something they are keeping from me, I will find out as quickly as possible.

We went upstairs after having breakfast since we were going to the mall. After all, I needed to buy something. We got into the car once I finished bathing and dressing. Thankfully Jenny had brought their driver with her. I didn’t see she had her car. Despite the fact that she does not have a driver’s license, her parents allowed her to drive on her own. The fact that I want to have my own too, but Mommy doesn’t allow me.

“What are you planning to buy?” Jenny questioned.

“I no longer have bond paper and notebook. Another issue is that the ink in my ball pen and marker has run out. I will buy a lot and also a cartolina,” I took a deep breath. “I’m running out of materials because our teachers are having us do a lot of work,” I added, and she winced.

“I’m glad I have a lot of stock,” she said, and I nodded.

She doesn’t run out because she has someone selling it for her. I could see a car with tinted windows behind us but couldn’t see who was inside. It’s too strange, yet I’ve had the feeling that someone is following me. I didn’t see Jenny while she told her story since my attention was drawn to the vehicle behind us.

“Oh, I just remembered something, Joel talked to me yesterday. Infernes with him because he’s handsome, it’s just that he’s not your ideal type. He’s concerned about you because you could have another nosebleed again,” she explained.

“He doesn’t need to worry about what could happen to me; tell him to stop because I might blunder him and smash him,” I replied, then she covered her mouth.

“You know Joel is the only one who has left out of the many who have courted you; why are you being so cruel with him? You are the most terrible woman I've ever seen!” she said, and I just shook my head.

“I don’t desire a man in my life,” I answered.

I clenched my eyes firmly as a remembrance flashed through my head. A memory I’m trying to forget, but why does it keep returning? I bit my lower lip, then held the chair hard and battled myself, afraid that my hand might slip in and startle Jenny if that happened.

“Hope all,” she said.

When we arrived at the mall, I noticed Sam and Joel standing extremely close to each other. I know the two are cousins, but I can’t help but wonder about Sam, as if she has some special quality that I don’t comprehend. Anyway, Jenny and I headed to the bookstore after entering the mall.

While looking for what I needed, I noticed the peculiar fragrance that I had experienced in the classroom again. Jenny and I, are far apart, so I searched for its scent and came to the end of the bookshelves where there were volumes of marketing books. I know that this is where I smell it. I know that he's here.

“Got you,” he said suddenly as he touched my shoulder, and I leaned against the bookshelf looking at him.

“Vixen?” I said.

I recognize him and understand what and who he is since we are the same. I couldn’t help but feel scared when he touched my face. Another one was his scent is its audacity. I instantly covered my nose to stop it from bleeding.

“OMG,” I said.

“Still nose bleeding huh?” he said, and I nodded.

“What’s the matter?” I’ll query.

“Something unusual happened recently, and I’d like to know who the guy who just followed you were,” he stated.

“So I’m not mistaken, someone is following me,” I said.

He gave me a nod and then looked around. “They had no idea where you were, but the vampire clan is interested in you,” he whispered.

“Interest?”

“Hmm. Take care of the people around you, Shranaia,” he advised before leaving.

“Sharanaia?” I glanced at Jenny, then at what she was carrying, “Who are you talking to?” she ask confusingly.

“Nothing,” I said immediately.

SHRANAIA’S POV

After a few days, I was fine, except for the unexpected arrival of Vixen. I don’t know why he’s following me, despite the fact that I’m not an ordinary person. I tripped as I walked into the canteen, and Joel immediately caught me.

“Aww,” I muttered as I clutched my chest.

“Are you okay?” he asked, and I shook my head.

“Do I seem okay?” I said, irritably, straightening myself.

I looked at the blocked leg and looked to see who it was from. When I saw Sam’s face, I approached her, and Joel even wanted to stop me when I gave him a bad look. I could hear her companions laughing as I near her, and they stopped when I was right next to her, and she frowned at me.

“What are you doing here?” she said, irritably.

“You know if you want me to pay attention to you, improve it like I will notice your pompousness and shit presence.”

“I don’t understand what you’re saying.”

“Really, Sam?” I said, holding back my patience.

I stepped on her foot, and she was taken a back; she didn’t know whether to hit me or shove me. I give her a bad look. “How dare you?”

“How dare me? Have I been neglecting you so long that you need my attention? You are such an attention seeker,” I said as I walked away from her.

I hadn’t gone far when she abruptly yanked my hair and grabbed me. I instantly elbowed her and then pushed her hard, and that’s when I saw Joel catch her. I grinned at what I saw, and it was a good thing Jenny wasn’t here right now because I knew she’d stop me.

After that, she gave me a bad look, and I just grin at her and walked away. I’m not sure what they have with Joel, but I guess I know now. After I left after bought what I needed and left them, I went to the rooftop to be alone.

“What are you doing here?” I asked the man, who was staring at the bottom of the building.

“Boss told us that we should keep an eye on you while he does some stuff,” he said.

“I don’t need a guard, and I can take care of myself,” I said, before eating what I had brought. “Do you want?” I asked on him.

He glanced at me and seemed to crave like a dog when he saw what I was holding. “Wow!!! It’s delicious!!!” he said happily and I took a deep breath.

Sometimes I just want to punch him. Ran suddenly appeared, and then I turned to him. He grimaced when he noticed Ron holding some food, sniffed it, and then approached his twin to ask for the food that he was holding. Ron gave Ran some, and they then shared what I had given them. I merely smiled at them both and sipped some water.

While waiting for the next class, I looked up and suddenly handed my head. I don’t know what I saw, but I know it has something to do with what happened to me then. Mommy didn’t tell me everything, especially Vixen. I’ll find out whatever they’re hiding in due time.

When I returned to my room, the flowers that had been spread on my table were there again, and I looked at them individually. I’m not sure why they keep doing it, even though they see me throwing it out every day.

“This is the last time I’ll throw flowers in the garbage; one more time, and I’m going to punch who might it be,” I said, calling everyone’s attention to me.

I just ignored them and fortunately, I don’t intend to waste my time on them. When the class ended, I looked at the car outside the school and saw who got off.

“SHRANAIA!!!” Jenny waved at me, and then she ran towards me.

“What are you doing?” I asked her.

“Well, you can see what happened to my arm, which is why I came to inform you why I’m absent today,” she explained, as I looked at her arm.

“What happened?”

“I will tell the story later, and I know what happened earlier, so let’s go.” She pulled me into the car, and then we left.

I noticed Sam and Joel arguing outside, and I simply ignored it. “What happened to your arm, and who did this to you?” I questioned.

“The fact is that Sam was the one who did this to me,” she said, winced, and I scowled at her.

“Why did you just say that now?” I asked, irritated.

“I didn’t mean to say it, but when I heard out what happened earlier, I felt like I got my vengeance on that girl,” she said, and then I smacked her across the head.

“I’m not happy with what I’m seeing, Jenny; I will not let go of what happened to your arm,” I stated as I was ready to stop the car when she stopped me.

“Calm down, don’t be a high blood girl, okay?”

“Who wouldn’t be bothered by that?”

“Slow down.”

“I’m not going to settle down until I pay back what that bitch did to you.”

“You already avenged me earlier, that’s alright.” She stopped me, and then she made me lean on the chair, and I pulled my hair. “Calm your mind,” she said, and then I rolled my eyes at her.

Honestly, I have no intention of listening to her, and I have no intention of following what she says. I can’t accept that she is also being sympathized with by those two. They may both tell me everything they despise about me. They were adamant about it, and they did it behind my back.

“What is the backstory?”

“Because yesterday, while I was in the mall purchasing a book, I spotted Samantha and Joel talking about you, and the only unusual thing is that she nicknamed Joel Deacon,” I scowled and turned to face him.

“Deacon? I’ve heard that name before,” I assured him.

I’m not sure where I heard it, but I’ve heard that name before. “Wherever? Do you have any previous memories of Joel?” she asked.

“I’m not sure; I just met him in our senior high school,” I said. “But the name you said, I know it... I knew him,” I added.

“This is what I remember of that night,” she added, and I just listened. “Since Sam stated that if she’s not the only one who can be picked, it’s much more important that it's not you because she'll do everything to kill you or make you disappear from their path.”

I know that there’s something in this two. But I’m quite sure I’ve heard the name Deacon before. When we arrived at the house, I walked down and told Mommy that I was going to sleep with Jenny. They didn’t object, and I merely went to my room and other necessities because there was no school tomorrow.

SHRANAIA’S POV

While Jenny and I were talking, I couldn’t get out of my mind what the two were arguing about earlier. I frequently wonder if they have some sort of strategy or if my assumptions are flawed. Anyway, one of my hints is what Jenny stated. As we were watching, I turned to look at the person standing by Jenny’s terris.

She questioned, “What was that?” and I gave a shrug.

“I don’t know?” I answered, then I stood up and looked to see who the person was, but I didn’t see anyone. “Maybe it’s just something like a human figure in a reflection? An object that might shadow a person,” I said, but she scowled as though she wasn’t persuaded.

She doesn’t believe in things easily. Especially if she couldn’t see it. In fact, Jenny has an ability that sets her apart from everyone else, but it is comparable to other people who have a third eye to distinguish between real and untrue things. When I noticed someone below, she was going to rise up. I scowled when I noticed Ran and Ron there. I let out a sigh and motioned for them to go.

“Who are you signaling on?” I immediately looked at Jenny and then started swatting like there was a flying insect in front of me.

“Are there mosquitoes in here?” I pretended to ask.

I exhaled a sigh of relief as she brought me into the room and closed the terris after having a look at what I was disassembling. Fortunately, I was awake and came up with an explanation. We both turned our attention to the television as news of a catastrophe broke. All I know is that we are watching a movie, therefore I have no idea why the news is on the TV.

“Why did it suddenly go crazy again?” said Jenny.

“Maybe your internet has been deleted and broken again,” I replied.

“It just got fixed it,” she replied, snorting thereafter. “It doesn’t matter. I want to sleep and rest. We have a trip tomorrow, don’t we?” she reminded me, and I nodded.

I sat next to her as she lay down on the bed. It was late at night, and I was still unable to fall asleep when a few minutes went by without my realizing it. I got up first, grabbed some water from their kitchen, and heard someone in the kitchen from the stairs. I spotted a man sipping milk as I went down, and I think he was having trouble falling asleep as well.

“Brother Eliot?” I said, and he turned to face me. “Long time no see,” I greeted him then I approached him.

He said, “That’s you, Sharanaia, how are you?” I responded by getting water from the refrigerator.

I said, “Well, I’m good. How about you? How were the States?”

“Kinda fine though, I’m stressed and super busy with work. I’m loaded as fck,” he answered, and we laughed together.

“You need to have some rest sometimes. I thought you were not going home anymore since you weren’t living here.”

He looked at the milk in the glass he was holding, then smiled bitterly. “I was fine... I am,” he said as if the depth was being drawn from him. “But currently, I am not,” he added.

I saw in his eyes that he was hurt. “Something happened, right?” I said, and he nodded. I could feel that he was broke and stressed.

“When I moved to the states, I met Aryana, she was beautiful, she was fine, sexy, and kind. She was smart, and have a sweet voice that you can’t even resist at least hearing at once. But suddenly, there was a problem, and I wasn’t there for her to help. Instead, I was busy with my work, loaded with meetings, busy back, and forth,” he stated, and I just listened to his story. “So I didn’t know what was happened to her,” he added and drank his milk.

“I she… your girlfriend?” I ask.

“Yeap, and I met her parents and all of her relatives, and now they are disappointed at me,” he said, then I saw that there were tears in his eyes.

I have never seen Brother Eliot like this even before. He is known as a cheerful person, smiling and seemingly without any other problems in the world. But this is him in real life. We’re close and even treats me like his real sister. Sometimes I’m even more of a sister than Jenny. Even so, they are happy to see us happy as if we were brothers. I don’t know what’s the feeling of having a sister or brother at all. Because I am just an only child then.

“Maybe… that was the reason why she didn’t tell you her pain,” I said, and he looked at me. “She knows that you need to focus, she knows that you were busy and even looking at your phone, you can’t,” I added. “At that point… she was thinking of you, and maybe if she called you or talked to you was a disturbing thing for her.”

His heavy sigh was audible, and I could sense the weight of his emotions. After taking a sip from the glass, he looked at me and smiled. He waved back after getting up, setting the glass on the sink. He told me good night as he was doing that. I drink water then after that, I placed it in the sink after he had left. When I was finally able to go back, I walked up and saw Jenny still asleep.

I reclined, then I close my eyes. Even the commotion I was hearing outside eluded me. But just before I slept off, I felt something touch my face. I took a little breath, but after that, the caress caused me to fully pass asleep.

“Shranaia.” I opened my eyes when Jenny called my name. “Good morning,” she greeted me then smiled.

I turned to glance around and noticed that the sun had risen. Jenny stood and left the room as I peered out the window and noticed a flower being placed; I got up and took it. I instantly was hurt by its thorn when I touched it, and for a moment I froze. I was shocked when the flower sucked the blood from my finger because I had no idea it contained a thorn.

I released the flower and started to look around. It slowly turned to ash before dissipating like a cloud of smoke. As an odd feeling crept through my chest, I hurried out of the room and went downstairs for breakfast.

“Oh? What happened to you? Why are you look pale?” Brother Eliot asked, then I calmed down.

“Because I saw something…” I thought of something to justify. “Squirrel,” I said, then Jenny laughed.

“Did you see, Squepy,” she said, then focused on the food.

What I had previously seen is not clear to me. But I persuaded them that was the reason I sat down and positioned myself close to Jenny. I glanced at Brother Eliot as I was eating, and he simply smiled at me. I actually have a crush on Brother Eliot, but I know he’ll only think of me as his little sister and not as a lady.

“What are you two going to do?” Brother Eliot asked. “Where are you going?”

Jenny and I looked at each other, and we smiled at each other. We intend to go to BGC because it is said that it is beautiful there and a good place to hang out, especially since there are trees on every side you pass. It’s like you’re in Korea because of the atmosphere there. Brother Eliot nodded and said he would come with us, and I was happy because of that. It’s been a long time since Brother Eliot, and I went out together.

“Wilmer told me that he would meet me at the Grand, will you come?” Jenny asked as we both got ready.

“Who’s Wilmer?” I wondered.

“Isn’t that my cousin who likes you, who else is Wilmer?” she answered, and I laughed.

“Ahhh... well, why?” I ask.

“He said he had to change schools. He wants to move to our school because aunt said that they will be here until the end of the school year. She just needs to do something here in the Philippines,” she replied.

I just nodded to her, and when we both finished, we went out. I saw Brother Eliot looking handsome in what he was wearing, and that’s when I realized that he gets even more handsome every time he smiles. I suddenly came to my senses because of the whining I heard, then I looked around and didn’t see anyone else.

“Let’s go,” Jenny said, then pulled me into Brother Eliot’s car.

Sometimes I want to kick Jenny because she often pushes me like she’s always in a hurry. “Will you please, stop pushing me?”

I irritated said, she was just rolling her eyes at me and didn’t say a word. I turned to check behind us while we was on the road because of the red car in front of us. I have no idea why it is chasing us, but I think I know who is it. I was startled when Jenny abruptly touched me as I was staring back. She glared at me as I sent a glance her way before turning to face the direction I was looking.

“What are you looking at?” she ask, curiously.

“Nothing,” I answered, then she looked at me.

“Do you want to go to Enchanted?” Brother Eliot asked me, then Jenny and I smiled.

“Yes!” we both answered, and he laughed.

Since there was nothing else to do in BGC than stroll around, we actually went to Enchanted. Jenny said that she would make her cousin follow us, and I just agreed. I was amazed by the rides at Enchanted when we arrived and eager to try them out. I can’t believe what I’m seeing and honestly feel like this is the first time I’ve been here.

“What should we ride first?” Jenny asked, Brother Eliot and I looked at each other.

“Extreme tower,” we said smiling at the same time, Jenny smiled even more, and we both ran together.

At the back, Brother Eliot just followed the two of us, looking as if he were our father. Eliot is 25 years old and actually still looks young. He wasn’t obviously 25 years old. When we bought the ticket, Jenny and I quickly boarded and couldn’t get rid of the smile on both of our lips. I can't really avoid not being excited, especially when it’s like this.

When we got on board, I felt dizzy, especially when the rides started. When it reached the top, I was just looking down, and from where I was, I saw a creature that made me frown. Even though I was high, I could see it clearly.

“WAAAAAAHHHH!” people around us shout out loud except me.

My attention was focused on the man who was looking at me, and I saw how he sneered at me as if something bad was going to happen. I looked at Jenny, and I could see that they were enjoying themselves, so I just screamed like them. When the rides were over, I excused myself to take a restroom.

When I got to the bathroom, I looked at myself in the mirror while holding my chest, there was a bug coming out of my green eyes. I immediately resisted it, then calmed myself down, and took a deep breath.

I reassured myself, “Shranaia, it’s just your imagination, so don’t be frightened,” and I then straightened myself up.

“What exactly shouldn’t you be terrified of?”

“Shit!" I said in surprise as I gripped my chest. O”Ytartled me, Jenny!”

“It’s not my fault that I surprised you. You’re talking to yourself in the mirror so seriously that you didn’t notice that I’ve been standing here watching you like an idiot,” I scowled at what she said.

“I’m sorry,” I said, then she came to me.

“It’s alright. What frightens you?” she asks inquisitively.

She nodded as I said, “It simply is... I’ll just tell you when the time is right.”

We both went out, from Brother Eliot’s place, I saw Wilmer, and when he saw me, he ran quickly. He was about to hug me when I quickly ran away, then I hid behind Jenny. He looked at me, then he snorted like a child and seemed to report to his cousin.

“Will you please fcking stop?” Jenny said, annoyed.

SHRANAIA’S POV

Wilmer made me lose my desire to go on rides. To be honest, I don’t enjoy having Wilmer around since he is too clinging to me and tries to chase and stick to me. I always stay with Jenny since I don’t like it when he approaches.

“What the hell, Wilmer, stop it!” Jenny said, annoyed while I was hugging her.

“Why are you so elusive to me, Shranaia?” he asked me, then I shook my head.

“I don’t like your presence. I don't want you to stick to me, and the other one is...” I couldn’t finish what I was going to say, and they all looked at me, I just kept quiet.

“What’s the other one?” Brother Eliot asked.

I merely shook my head, glanced around for Vixen, and winced. They will probably understand why I am like this if they knew my true personality. We proceeded to a nearby restaurant to eat and rest because the rides had been really exhausting earlier. I lost my voice cause of yelling and my throat got itchy.

“I have something to tell you,” said Wilmer, then we looked at him.

Brother Eliot is next to me, and Jenny is next to Wilmer. We both face each other. I really want Brother Eliot to be by my side because I feel comfortable. Unlike Wilmer, I feel like I’m going to be in danger. Because when he was near me, there was something around me that I felt strange.

“What is that?” I ask.

“There’s a reason why we are here,” Wilmer said.

“There’s a reason why we’re here now.” Jenny frowned, then she was intrigued for some reason.

“What was that then?” asked Jenny.

“I heard from Mom last night that there’s something that she needs to work on here and that something was very intriguing,” he stated eagerly as if there was anything he may enjoy staying here for.

We continued listening until I saw the man I saw earlier. “Whoah?” I turned to Jenny, then my trance returned.

I didn't hear what Wilmer said, but I was annoyed by the strange feeling that someone was watching me besides Ron and Ran. This annoying feeling gives a strange feeling of nervousness and fear in my chest as if I'm running away from something I don’t understand.

“Are you ok?” Brother Eliot asked me, and then I turned to him.

“II’m fine,” I answered, still stuttering. “Wwhat’s that?” I asked as if I had no idea.

“How deep are you thinking? We just finished the exam didn’t we?” Jenny said, and I shook my head.

“I’m just not in the mood. I suddenly felt something strange and creepy,” I told her, then they understood me.

“You wanna go home?” Wilmer asked, then I nodded.

They agreed with me, so we hastened the lunch and went home. While on the road, I saw an odd gaze from a woman outside who was also staring at me. It seems like I know her did I? I told Jenny I would going home when we got home because I didn’t like how I was feeling.

When I went home, I saw Mommy following me with a weird look as if something was strange about her. “What happened?” mama asked, as I came to a halt and approached her.

“I’m snot feeling well,” I said, then I approached her. “I don’t understand mommy, but... there’s something inside me that I can’t explain why.”

“What is it?”

“I’m afraid... I’m afraid of something... something that I don’t know what,” I said to him, and then he smoothed my hair, then hugged me tightly.

At the moment, I was at ease with myself, and felt joy in my heart. Mommy’s touch lifts me up, as if she is the only one who can provide for me and no one else. I calmed down at that time, took a long breath, and looked at Mom.

“You feel better now?” she asked.

“I guess so... thank you for calming me down,” I said, then she smiled and hugged me again.

After that, I decided to rest. After one day, I woke up early because I still had school. I don’t have that bad feeling anymore, but I still have this strange dream. When I finished getting dressed, I went downstairs, Daddy greeted me with a smile, and Mommy gave me food.

After I ate, I said goodbye to go in, and when I got out, Jenny's car was there, then I got into it, and I didn't expect that Wilmer was also there also.

“How was your feeling?” he asked me.

“I’m fine,” I replied to him, then he nodded to me.

“That’s good.”

We left, and when we arrived at the school, Wilmer opened the door for me. I didn’t say anything and simply went down, and I saw people who were gazing at us, and I guess they were wondering why we were together. I simply ignored them before facing Jenny and we entered the room together.

When we got there, I saw a white flower that surprised me. Jenny looked at me then she smiled, but I was not happy with what I was seeing.

“Remove that,” I said and pointed to the white flower.

Her brow furrowed because the fear of that flower was obvious to me. “Why do you look so scared? Is it just a flower?” she said, then I shook my head.

She didn’t understand what happened to me when I was at their house, that’s why I didn't answer any of her questions and pushed her to pick that flower that was on the table. When she picked it up, she threw it outside, and when I was sure that she threw it, I sat down at my desk.

I looked at Sam and saw how she grinned as if she knew what I was afraid of. But I just ignored her and fixed myself. Jenny looked at me, then asked if I was okay, and I just nodded to her in response.

“What is it about the white flower that makes you afraid?” she asked me, and I couldn't answer anything other than just shaking her head.

Jenny didn’t ask any more questions because our teacher had already arrived. It announced the held JS prom as well as the held dance contest. Jenny is in the dance, so I am there to support her. There is one for the singing competition, but I don't enter any contests. I just don’t enjoy being the center of attention not unlike the others who like to be in it.

“Ok class, listen. Now there is also news that each section will have a representative as a Ms and Mr of the entire high school,” said ma’am.

“Sam could be one of our representatives, ma’am,” said one of our classmates, and I agree.

Sam is stunning. Her skin is flawlessly white and silky. Her dark hair is wonderfully curled, and to be honest, she has everything except a decent attitude. Jenny stared at Sam, and I noticed she rolled her eyes at her. She has this attitude that Same had. But, she’s my best friend so, even though that was annoying, it’s ok with me.

“Samantha?” ma’am said, and Sam stood up. “Is it ok with you, ija?” she asked Sam, then she smiled.

“Of course ma’am,” she proudly replied.

“Boooooo!” everyone told her that it made me smile. “Ma’am something is missing from Sam!” said one of our classmates.

“Huh? She’s so perfect!” said Sam's friend.

“Perfect your face! She lacks good manners!” this answer made everyone laugh, including me, and Jenny.

“Class quiet!” Ma’am said to everyone.

We immediately fell silent, so I just looked ahead and fixed myself. “You still have a basher, Sam,” Jenny teased, so I elbowed her.

I noticed how she clenched her fist and then glared at me evilly as if I were the one who was to fault for criticizing her. Ma'am looked at me and based on what I could see in her eyes, it was as if I was feeling something strange. I swallowed my own spit when she smiled and crossed her arms on me.

“Alright, we need to fix it, just like this...” Ma’am looked at me, then motioned me to stand up. “Shranaia stands up,” she said.

“What?” I said, irritably.

“Stand up, ija,” she repeated.

“I don’t want to participate in that kind of contest, and even if you all vote for me, I have no intention. Ma’am I don’t want to be in this mess!” I explained.

“You haven’t tried it yet, why knot?”

I bit my lower lip and gazed at Sam. “Why can’t you simply settle with Sam? Even though we’re competing in academics, I know she’s more deserving it,” I replied, breaking their quiet.

Ma’am couldn’t say anything in response to what I said, and when Jenny glanced at me, I just scowled at her with my arm crossed. I have no intention of doing anything she desires. Everyone agreed, and nothing further was done. They also cannot compel me. After class, I packed my belongings and stood up to go out.

When I was going to leave, I noticed Joel and Wilmer outside the room. Joel stared at me, then smiled, and I looked at Sam. Isn’t Sam the one he could pick up? I said to myself. Wilmer approached me when I was going out of the room, and he was almost too near to me when I placed my palm in his face to stop him.

“I will smack your face hard if any of your fingertips touch me,” I said, and he gulped. I stared at Joel after he didn't say anything. “I don’t care what’s on your mind; stop being around me or I’ll divulge your and Samantha’s secret,” I warned Joel, and his eyes widened as he realized what I had said.

I’m not sure what’s wrong with them, but I know they’re hiding something. Jenny and Wilmer followed me as I passed past him. They were wondering what I was talking to Joel, but I didn’t respond. I came to a halt at the gate and peered around. I'm feeling strange again, and I'm sure that someone is observing me.

“Oh? Why did you stop?” asked Wilmer.

“When is the full moon?” I asked, then Jenny frowned.

“I don’t know, eh,” she answered.

I checked the calendar and noticed that the next day was the full moon. My 18th birthday is coming, and I expect a lot to happen on that day. I was shocked to see Brother Eliot as we got in the car. I didn't know that he was here.

“Oh? Aren’t you doing anything, Bro?” Jenny asked.

“Well, Benj was passing by, and I ride with him since my car was broken,” he replied.

We simply nodded and went in. Wilmer couldn't complete what he was saying since Jenny was next to me, and I was just putting my head on Jenny’s shoulder. I walked up to my room after they got me home and looked at the clock. I hurriedly dressed and then lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling like crazy. Something came up these days that makes me uncomfortable whenever I go out. Sometimes, I don't want to go out cause I could feel that someone was behind me and inches away from me.

I can’t forget about the guy I saw in Enchanted and the strange fear I feel that I don’t understand why. I sat at the study table, then I opened my laptop to look for something to eat and a movie to watch.

While I was busy, I noticed a rustle outside my window and got to look into it. I just held my breath as I peered out the window and saw Ron and Ran. I rushed down the stairs and to the back, where I asked them what they were doing in front of my room.

“Boss said that he was restless because he felt something strange. He said he knows that you could also feel that, so he commanded us to go here and guard you,” said Ron, and then I approached him.

“Can you just explain to me what happened?” I said, then he looked at Ran.

“We can’t say until Boss says it,” Ran replied, and I turned around to get inside because of annoyance.
