Start With An Unexpected Affair

Yasmin felt dizzy as she take another sip of her glass of wine not sure if she was getting drunk she took yet another sip and drop the glass on one of the passing trays she decided to go find her Boss and inform him about her wanting to leave the party early

Her eyes search for him and she couldn’t see him anywhere in the large room or maybe her eyes are feeling a bit weak to see the hall clearly now still determine to find him

She sighted Talia from a distance and walk towards her she called to get her attention since she was busy talking to some other people in the party

“What’s wrong Yasmin? You don’t look good” she said observing her tired eyes

“I’m not sure but I feel so dizzy, where is Boss I can’t find him”

“I think he went to have a talk with the Ambassador minutes ago, I will tell him you are leaving”

Talia offered with a smile and Yasmin nodded at her and mouthed a thank you, she turn to leave but her legs suddenly felt wobble and she almost lost her balance she quickly hold on to something for support while she battle her eyes from closing up

Talia quickly rush to her and held her she rested her whole body on hers for support

“I don’t think you can leave here like this, how about you take a nap to wear off the dizziness”

Yasmin just slightly nodded her head feeling too dizzy to open her mouth it feel like her whole body was going through some pain.

Black empire just acquire a big success one that has never happen in the entire country and tonight’s party was to celebrate and make merry as much as possible

Being the personal assistant to the most demanding and perfect CEO whose company is topping as the third in the whole of America is very tiring especially when you have to be almost as perfect as him in order to meet his standards and demand.

Until two years ago when he got married to Veronica Giuliana breaking a lot of ladies hearts especially those who have set their goals on getting him on their bed.

Although it was a celebration party lot of business men and big companies are also present to acquire favor from the most successful man in the whole of the country and so the party gets a bit serious but luckily for Yasmin her Boss has release her this night and gave her permission to drink and enjoy the party and now it seems like she has overdone the whole enjoyment thing.

Ever since she started work in Black empire she hardly have time to hang out or get this drunk she always have to be available for him in case he needs her and also be responsible as his assistance but not having to drink for a long time seems to have effect on me as she seems to be feeling horrible right now.

Talia handed her the key card to the room and she sluggishly made her way upstairs trying hard not to fall down on the way soon she got to the door and unlock the door without bothering to turn on the lights she went straight for the bed and drop on it, she was about to close her eyes when she heard the door unlock and someone step in

Yasmin couldn’t see the person clearly because of the darkness overshadowing the room, her lips wanted to part up and ask who the fellow is but she found it too weak to move and she had to wait for whosoever it is to get to her

The approaching figure seems tall and was holding something in his hands Talia tried to stand up but her body was too tired to make a move she just lay with her heartbeat pondering at the thought of what the intruder might do to her

with few more steps the intruder got near the bed and sat down at the edge doing something Talia couldn’t see she tried holding her breath but the unbearable pain she was feeling makes it more difficult for her to do so her eyes are starting to give in to the drowsiness and she could barely hold her consciousness now that her senses were all giving in and she know she could no longer stop it from taking over her

Giving the tall man over her one last look she let her eyes embrace the deep sleep she’s been preventing but before she pass out she inhale the smell of his perfume a very familiar scent she will never forget not in this lifetime.

The bright morning light that shone inside the room made Talia open her eyes reluctantly she close them back almost immediately feeling too lazy to stand up she tried adjusting her body on the bed but then felt her bare skin touch something

‘Bare skin?’

she flinched a bit and open her eyes she turn to see who was with her on the bed, his back was facing her so she had to go the other way to see who it is seeing the face of her companion she let out a scream a mistake she wish she has never made because the intruder opened his eyes the instant she scream and turn his face to her, it was no intruder but Kyler Black her Boss at work.

For a moment they both stare at each other confused, Yasmin had her hands covering her mouth in shock while Kyler just stare at the woman in front of him in perplexity he doesn’t seems to get a grasp of the situation not until Yasmin remove the blanket covering her body and ran nakedly into the bathroom

“Yasmin?” he said in shock

pulling the blanket to check himself seeing that he was also naked he quickly put the blanket back over his body staring in space, he tried thinking about what the hell happened yesterday and how he got to the same room with her

it was obvious he spent the whole night with her and since he could feel it something sure happened between them something that should never have happened he heard his phone ring and look on the bed to find it not able to find it there he look down where the sound was coming from and saw his phone almost under the bed he pick it up and with a croaky voice he said a low hello to the caller

“President Black? Where were you since last night I’ve been trying to reach you since yesterday but you didn’t pick my calls, are you okay?”

Kyler look at the screen to be sure who was speaking seeing the name on the screen he cut the call and check his call log to check his missed calls

Twenty three missed calls but nine of them were from her he let out a relieve breath he drop his phone and held his throbbing head

‘what really happened yesterday night?” he wondered, he remember talking to the Ambassador and after that his parents called him to have a little talk and after that what happened? He tried thinking but his brains doesn’t seems to remember it at all.

Yasmin pace around the bathroom not sure what to do she thought of how her Boss ended up sleeping in the same room with her and have something together at that she remember last night when she felt dizzy and took the room key from Talia to take a short nap

Then the figure she saw entering the room and then she black out, is that figure her boss? She wondered still walking around the bathroom with no idea what to do, what happened could be nothing else but a disaster for her of all people to spend the night with

the thought that he’s still in the room and there’s no way she would go out of the bathroom without seeing him made her feel unease she thought of what else to do but nothing seems to be the option than go back into the room since all her things are in there with him plus the door to exit is there.

She pick up a towel from the set packed and walk noiselessly to the bathroom door, she peep to see the room she look around but couldn’t find him stupefied about the fact that he might have left her alone

Yasmin ran out of the bathroom into the room and met with his eyes immediately she came out fully into the room she instantly froze on the spot not sure what to do she look at him and saw he was already dressed up ready to leave he stare at her about to say something to her but at a second thought he pick up something from the drawer near the bed and walk out of the room leaving her in a daze.

The two glasses clink and Veronica smile at her victory she had just heard the news and receive the video from Conrad about their plan being a success

Yesterday was a day she’s been looking forward to and if she had missed it then she won’t be able to save herself from giving birth to Kyler’s child.

The thought of that almost made her lose herself, giving birth to his child is the last thing she ever wanted in life although she has married him against her wish and desire but she can’t endure having his blood grow inside of her and thanks to Conrad quick thinking they finally have a way to prevent her from getting pregnant.

The strong smell of Conrad’s Tobacco almost choke her and she place her glass on the counter as she squeeze her face at the repugnance odor

“Can you stop smoking that? You know I hate the smell of it” she complained and gave him one of her displeasure look while waiting for him to comply with her request, seeing her upset look Conrad sigh in frustration and put off the smoke

“Shouldn’t you be waiting for him? He should be back home anytime sooner” he asked taking her glass instead of his

“Kyler never gets angry with me neither will he fall out of my charm” she said with so much confidence and smile as he took a sip of her drink, watch for more minutes she planted a kiss on his lips and wanted to go further but he pull out

“What’s wrong?” she whined not liking the fact that he stopped her half way

“Veronica, we have a company here” he informed and turn his gaze to the bar attendant who stood near the counter with glances at them

“So what? I really need to get down with you, right now” she protested and pull in again this time she didn’t give him time to push her off but make him embrace her closer.

The mansion gate opened and Veronica drove in to the mansion as she drive to the large car park in the building she notice his black Lamborghini Veneno, it’s the same car he took to the party yesterday which means he’s already back in the house.

After parking her car properly she spray herself some cologne before exiting from the car, Kyler is sensitive and too much of it might arise suspicion so the lighter the better, she thought as she made her way inside the house straight to the private living room upstairs where she’s sure he would be.

As she walk in a bunch of maids working greeted her but she ignore the whole of them and focus her mind on getting to him.

Since childhood she has always admire this kind of life where people admire and stare at you for being so beautiful and fortunate and being born into a wealthy family she has always lived a life like a princess when she decided to settle down she has chosen to marry Kyler out of all the suitors who were after her then

not because she love him but he was the best candidate among all but after living as his woman for many years she began to lose interest and her hatred for him grows day by day seeing that he’s not ready to let her go

She wanted freedom and a new experience with another man and that other man is Conrad her husband illegimate and notorious brother.

“You know that has nothing to do giving me my usual dose” she said and lean in again but he pull away before she could have the chance

Veronica frown her face looking really upset even though she knew very well why he’s shirking a kiss with her but the thought of torturing him more propane her to make more moves on him

“What’s wrong sweetheart?” she called with bitterness in her voice as she sulk at his rejection

“Veronica, there is something I need to tell you” he said and took her to sit down, she followed obediently looking curiously at him

“Last night...” he begin and she look eagerly at him waiting for him to deliver the news himself then the last play she planned will happen

When he finish explaining yesterday’s incident to her, Veronica eyes were filled with tears as she stood up away from him, she clench her teeth in fury as she receive the news of his last night affair.

Kyler stare at her watching her action and being cautious so she wouldn’t harm herself, being who he is, it’s hard to keep the incident hidden and live his whole life deceiving her but he hated to see her in so much agony as well, he love her so much that he can’t bear to bring pain to her

“How could you Kyler?” she asked her body getting sweaty and her tears falling with so much difficult in her breathing

“I know how much hurt you are feeling right now and no matter what I say the feeling of betrayal will be hard to forget” he said standing up from his unease position

“Is that what you will say? Aren’t supposed to be sober and apologize for hurting me and betraying the promises you made to me? You promised not to share a bed with another woman” she said in a yell

“My sorry won’t change the fact that I did commit the crime of adultery” he said with a blunt face which Veronica couldn’t help but gurgle angrily at lack of emotion

“Did he really feel guilty about this?”

“Or did she make a mistake at her choice of victim?” she wondered as she gape at the guiltless expression on his face.

“I need some time to settle my feelings for you Kyler, I’m sorry but I can’t trust you again you broke my trust and hurt me so much” she cried in his arms and let him hug her in comfort as she continue in her pretentious agony.

Six weeks later…

Wearing a creamy long sleeve shirt with a knee leveled skirt to match and a heel, Yasmin walk into a café shop looking so different from her usual self, she ordered for a cappuccino and took it to cornered seat while she gets busy with her phone as she await someone.

An average height man walked into the same café shop and look around until his eyes settled on her, he smiles in acknowledgement and went ahead to get his own drink before approaching the table

“You look radiant today” he complimented as he got to her

“Thank you” she replied with a brighten expression while she took off her glasses and place them beside her cup

“I’m sorry I’m late”

“No I’m just a bit earlier” she said and clean her mouth with the tissue on the table

“You look so ready to visit old friends today” he said and Yasmin nodded with much confident

“Old friends? More like old enemies” she replied and shared a smile with him, they both focus on their drink for a while and after that decide to leave

“Shall we go?” he asked and Yasmin nodded readily.

They got outside where the driver was waiting and entered the car, before the car took off he takes her hand

“If you feel nervous just lean on me, I’m here to help”

“I don’t think that will be necessary I can manage just fine” she reply him with an assuring smile and he smile back

“Let’s go” he said to the driver who nodded and start the car engine.

The shiny bright sign reads Black empire upfront and the car halt there, two people got out of the vehicle and the driver went ahead to park the car. They both stare at each other momentously before proceeding inside the company.

Lot of eyes settled on them as they walk to the elevator, they both snub the inquisitive and odd looks and proceed to the eight floor as that’s their destination.

The moment they walk in, eyes settled on them again but this time on this particular person who seems familiar to most of them, they watch as they both stroll directly to the meeting room.

The door opens and everyone’s head snap to the door to see who is it that just arrived, after ten seconds of the door being opened, they both step in creating attentions to theirselves.

Some stood up in recognition while some remain seated while they await them to take their seats, they were lead to their seats just as the right side of the cabin but then just as they are about to be seated a hand snapped diverting everyone

“What is she doing here?” he asked with a puckered brow

“What do you mean President Black? She’s with me” he answered with a mischievous smirk seeing that he’s not convince, he gave a little laugh and gesture to her introduce herself

“Hello, I’m Yasmin Cassidy, representing ARON” she introduced and Kyler saw the obvious malicious smirk on her lips.

“I’m back Kyler Black and this time I’m going to pay you back in the same coins you paid me” she said inwardly and take her seat right after him.

The atmosphere of the felt frosty after and everyone stare in tension at the feelings being passed across the room, not knowing what is the cause for the sudden change mood

After waiting for a while for both parties to speak to continue the party, the others in the room begin to clear up their throat to gain their attention back to the main purpose of the meeting

“Do you feel ill?” he suddenly face one of the senior manager who keeps coughing up

“No President Black, I’m sorry” he apologize and adjust himself on the seat.

“Like I introduced earlier I’m Yasmin and I will be working together with you all for the new venture which the two great companies will be starting soon” she explained

She felt his eyes on her but made sure to compose herself and make sure her eyes doesn’t glance at him for a second rather she look focus at the others

“I will like to introduce the President of ARON, Mr. Thompson Bays” she announced and everyone greeted him formally

“And also Mr. Bays, this is President Kyler Crust Black” she said and put on a professional smile as she introduce them formally

“I’m sure there’s no need for that”

“Of course there is, this is afterall a formal business meeting” she said keeping the smile on her face.

“Why don’t we talk about the new business now?” Thompson suggested and ended the rising heat between the two.

Thirty minutes to the meeting and Yasmin was already feeling irritated, she glare at him for the fifth time since he begin his talk, she stare down at the original proposal on the table and feel exasperated as his words

“I don’t think that makes much of a sense” she burst out and the others who had their attention on him turned them on her after hearing her sentence

“What?” he asked not believing his ears, did she just interrupt him?

“Practically you will be changing the whole proposal for the business which wasn’t what was agreed on by the two parties, it will be going against the agreement” she said and took a gulp from the bottle water in front of her

“I don’t think I need to listen to a common representative while the president of the company is here” he remarked and ignore her

“Are you saying you are disregarding my presence that could be count as a disrespect on ARON” she continued determined to piss him off

“I doubt you came for something else than the business being discussed”

“Why would you think that? What else will I come to Black to do rather than talk about the new business?”

this time everyone look on wondering where their discussion is heading but Yasmin can’t careless about the stares and murmur, she has a determined look in her eyes

“I find you talking back at me disrespectful woman” he said his voice raised than intended she seems to be getting to him now

“You sound as disrespectful too” she returned

“You are crossing the line Yasmin” he yell this time fuming with his hands in a fist

“You crossed that line first when you fired me for no reason Mr. Black” she let out and gave a deep breathe

“It’s President Black” he corrected sternly

“Oops my bad”

“Miss Cassidy I think you should stop now” the person sitting next to her tried to persuade her to stop

“What? I’m just being concerned since President Black here is somewhere who might run away from responsibilities when he feel lost” she answered and cross her arms

“I need you out of this meeting and project!” Kyler yell at her standing up at his feet having the last of it, the insult is too much for him to condone and he cannot take it any longer neither can he stand her impudent.

“You can no longer order me or make decision about me, I no longer work for you remember” she resorted

They both had a tug of stares before Kyler finally exit the room after threatening to end his company contract with ARON.

Back to the Café Thompson went to the counter to get her a cold soda to cool down, he handed it to her and watch her drink it at a go almost finishing the content of the tall glass

Thompson laughed the rigid manner in which she drinks and gave a tissue to clear her lips “you went too far Yasmin” he said after seeing her calm face

“I’m sorry I just couldn’t hold it” she said and put down the tissue

“I understand but daring Black is like daring poverty”

“what are we going to do now?” she asked feeling guiltridden for her unthoughtful actions, when she had saw her back then looking so good and guiltless after rendering her jobless make her so pissed off that she couldn’t contain her anger anymore

“We have to beg him now, that’s the only way to please him and make sure the contract is secured for ARON”

“I’m really sorry Mr. Bays” she apologize sincerely even though she knows her apologize is useless

“Don’t worry Yasmin, just focus on you main goal and things will be fine” he said and smile to her face watching her closely, Yasmin nodded and took her drink to finish it.

Right, she just need to do as planned and things will be alright, she will be able to let go of her hatred for him only after defeating him and making him give an apology.

The little holiday was over and work resume as normal with everyone getting busy, Yasmin resumed early to work than the rest in order to put few things to place.

President Black has always hated a tiny dirt or any trace of error in his space so she had to come in time with the cleaner to monitor their work and see if they had everything properly done, she also has to do a little clean which is why she always had to bring a pair of soft slippers every day to put on and put them off after cleaning to dress up neatly in her heels and not too much perfumed outfit

The first time she had start work with him and had put on too much deodorant to impress him, was the day she received a great humiliation as she was told to go wash them off her body.

Dropping the clean napkin on her desk after a thorough cleaning, the incident flash back into her memory once again and she felt her chest tightened in unknown excitement and fear

Should she assume that finally after eight years of one side crush, there is finally a positive response? But the look on his face when he saw her beside him doesn’t look good at all, he seems mad and disappointed.

Eight years ago when Yasmin became an employee she had encounter President Black back then and he saved her from a gracious fall and helped her with her shoes, something she never expected since then she has develop a soft spot for him and has always stare and admire him from afar with hope of getting closer to him someday.

Luckily for her in her fourth year working in the company, one of the Bosses had made a terrible mistake with the presentation and she being a junior worker then had step in to help, then and there President Black saw her potential and promoted her to be his personal assistant, an opportunity she has always wished for.

At her first day she wore a new outfit and spray herself with perfume and put on a long heels

“You smell like dog pee”

He had commented in front of everyone presence in the room and Yasmin felt so humiliated in his presence

“you didn’t come here to seduce me but to work hard for me so get rid of this smell this minute and make sure your shoes aren’t so ugly next time, plus I hate the new smell coming from your outfit, change it” he ordered

Yasmin had wished at that moment to be carried away into the air or better still disappear into it. That very day she had change everything she put on apart from her inner wears.

The news went out to all like wildfire and she was taunt by it for many days that she so much regretted trying to seduce him although he turned out not to be as nice as she imagine but her love for him never died rather she determined to work so hard and impress him once again with her intelligence.

But life isn’t what she had planned, it was harder pleasing him and working for him but she changed completely after months she felt it was a mission impossible seeing the narcissistic person he is.

But afterall all these years and even when he got married she never let go of her feelings for him rather she kept it to herself and continue to desire him secretively.

Work begin at the early hours and soon she put aside her worries and focus on work, when he came to work he kept a straight face at her as he always do and didn’t say or hint her so she thought maybe he’s going to pretend nothing happened between but she know for sure she can’t just keep it to herself.

“Let go eat lunch” she announced to her standing from her desk, she only had tea in the morning out of anxiousness and feels so hungry now. Everyone stood up and pause their work to go out for lunch but then before they leave he came into the office and call their attention

“Miss. Owens?”

We all looked at Talia whose name is called and she raise her hand in recognition, we all waited for him to say whatever it is he called her for, some looked curious and some looked impatient and hungry but I looked at her in confusion

“Why is he calling for her and not me?” she wondered

“I want to see you in my office now” he said after casting his eyes at her carefully and exit the office, while Talia who seems nervous followed after him and the rest went out for lunch.

Yasmin’s feels unsettled during lunch and quickly finish eating before the others

“I will go back first” she had said and left back to the office before others. She got to the office and sat down while she strain her eyes over to the president office to know if Talia is still in there or not

she look inquisitive towards the office again and decide to bring snacks and coffee to his office, in a hurry she get some snacks and made coffee with no sugar she place carefully on a small tray and proceed to his office.

Just before she got to the door it came open, saving her the trouble of knocking but then president Black came out of the office and Yasmin found herself smiling the moment she saw him, she quickly walk forward and stretch her hands forward a little

“I brought some coffee and snacks” she said with beams

Kyler waited for her to come in and keep a straight face, he looked like he was about to break a bad news to her, being a great businessman over the years he is never afraid to speak out his mind but looking at her smiling face, he felt a pang of guilt inside of him but that isn’t enough to make him change his mind.

“Place it here” he told her and watch her do so with excitement, the more he sees her cheerful face, the more he finds his decision difficult to standby.

“Kyler Black never finds it to speak his mind” he console himself and gaze at her looking relaxed

After placing the tray down, Yasmin waited hoping he would say something to her, she really hope he doesn’t want to pretend like nothing happened between them

“Don’t you have something to say to me sir?” she asked after minutes of silent from him

Kyler glance at her and focus back to his computer, after he was done he look back at her again

“Go get your sack letter from Talia” he said and Yasmin excited face turned sour immediately, she doesn’t seems to understand what he just said

“What? I don’t…what?” she asked confused and worried

“I hate repeating myself Yasmin” he said irritably

“But what did I do to deserve being fired?” she wanted to know, she hasn’t except him to fire her after sleeping with her, it was his mistake not hers

“It’s my company not yours and I decided whatever I want, hand over your duties to Talia and leave immediately”

“I think I have the right to know why I I’m being fired” she said stubbornly feeling angry now at the whole thing, first he slept with her and now she’s getting sacked unjustly

“What is my offense president Black?” she demanded to know

“Oh so you want to know, fine I’ll tell you” he said and stood up from his seat approaching her

“But first should I pay you for the sex?” he asked stonily

Yasmin stare dumbstruck at him wondering where that just came from,

“Is he taking her for a slutty bitch who gets paid after sex?’ she asked herself with a heavy heart

“I don’t know what you were expecting but this is it and I’m sure you are not expecting some sort of apology from me”

“Wait, I still don’t get why you should fire you, if you want to keep it secret I mean if you don’t want the incident remembered it’s cool but…”

She almost bite her tongues as she said those words, forget about it? She certainly can’t and neither can she be cool at all

“whether you forget it or not it’s your business but what I’m telling you is I’m in no way responsible for what happened, you climb into my bed remember?” he said and Yasmin felt his words stung her heart, she look at her with hurtful and miserable gaze and watch him stare back unmoved

“What was I expecting anyway?’ she murmur to herself

“I heard that” he snapped

“Maybe they were meant for your ears to hear” she snap back at him not caring anymore, she’s fired anyways

“Just get out and if you need compensation you can tell Talia the amount you want” he said dismissively

“You know I never thought Kyler Black is such a coward who backs off from responsibility”

“Watch your language Miss Cassidy” he fired angrily

Yasmin wipe off the drop of tears that fell on her left cheek and tilt her head confidently

“You should have atleast done this the right way”

The plan to finally get rid of her husband and be with who her heart belongs to now was going perfectly for Veronica, these days she has exhausted a lot of things from Kyler all in guilt of having cheated on her.

She requested a maid to open the drink and pour her a glass, with her drinks in her hand she click glass to the air and took a tiny sip then dropping the glass as she felt nauseous all of a sudden.

Not wanting to make a big deal she took the glass again and finish the content once and for all but then her stomach begin to feel upset and in a moment she hurried to the bathroom to throw up.

“what the hell” she wondered, not sure why the nauseous pop in, without wasting time she put a call through to the family doctor and ask to see him tomorrow for her checkup.

The illness got worsen the next day and Veronica could hardly get out of bed, she needed so much for Kyler to be there but for more than seven weeks now they haven’t talk to each other and hardly see so there is no way he’s going to be here.

The maid who came in to clean her room saw her weak state and quickly call for a doctor to come over, angry at the maid for calling an unfamiliar doctor to check on her Veronica yelled angrily but seeing she has no choice with the headache and other emotional feelings right now she accept to get treat by her.

“Congratulations ma’am you are pregnant” the doctor announced happily as she help her sit up

“What crab are you talking about? I’m on contraceptives” she said throwing her hands off

“Well madam that doesn’t guarantee hundred percent, although I don’t know why you might not want a child now but I hope you keep this one”

“What?” Veronica yelled reality dawn on her at that moment, this is disastrous, how could she be pregnant this is definitely trouble for her.

“Doc” she grabbed her hands which she had just thrown away minutes past

“I need this baby gone, I don’t care if it cost my life but I definitely can’t have this thing inside of me” she said desperately and the Doctor look on not sure what to do

“Why would you want to hurt yourself rather…?”

“Stop with the crap okay? I don’t need your opinion just do what I asked”

“But ma’am…”

“Five million” she said and the doctor’s countenance lighted up at the amount of money

“To keep your mouth shut and to get rid of this thing without anyone else knowing about it” she offered

“Of course I will try my best to ensure this goes well, my lips are sealed” the doctor agreed and they both decided to contact each other secretly until she could get an abortion.

A week after many failed attempt to get an abortion Veronica became devastated on what to do, she has tried many times to get rid of the baby growing in her but to no avail as her life is seriously in line, having no choice left she phoned Conrad to sought out a solution to the disaster.

They met at the usual place and immediately he got into the room and rush at her for a kiss but surprisingly for him she push him off and turn away, not giving up he came behind her and attempt a kiss on her shoulder wanting to take control of her body

Okay calm down and let’s think together” he said and brought her to sit on the cushion

Half way to their smooching Conrad suddenly pull out an idea in his head on what to do, he shook her slightly excited at his solution

“What?” she snarled “why? What happened? Why didn’t he call to inform me?” she ask in a rush again

“He just had a lot to do and needed to catch early flight tomorrow morning, also he sent me to inform you”

“And rather than inform me you were busy drinking” she yelled at him passing aggression

Calming down after the yell she asked to know when he will be back and the answer given to her isn’t what she wanted to hear, time is definitely not on her side and the faster she gets to sleep with him the better.

Racing back to the room she pick her phone to call him and see if she could make him change his mind and come back home to sleep but his number isn’t reachable

She resorted to texting instead and told him she already forgave him for the affair and needed him back as soon as possible

Worried president Black sat the office without doing anything but ruminating his thought and trying to get his emotions to one piece the sooner he does seems to be the better for him Now that she’s back and he might have to keep seeing her more than often.

The last first meeting was a bit messy and unsuccessful so after much deliberation and appeal the new business is on again between the two companies and this time a more organized meeting was scheduled.

Thompson reminded her just outside the building and she nodded at him with a smile promising to do as much as not letting her feelings get involved again.

Just as their car drove out, Veronica’s car drove in at a fast speed and stepping out of it, people who saw her couldn’t help but admire and marvel on the sexy woman who just arrived, people stare as she walk in and even when she got into the elevator, loving the attention she’s getting her phone rings and it was Kyler

“Your wife is in the hospital” the caller informed

Kyler ran to the ward where Veronica was laid and plant a kiss on her forehead before turning to the doctor to ask what happened

“Your wife is five weeks pregnant and she attempted an abortion” he said to the perplexed and confused Kyler

“Pregnant? My wife?”

‘Yes and it seems she took some pills to get rid of it, thankfully she was brought on time and we were able to save both mother and child’s lives” he inform happily and went off to do some other duty promising to come back when she awakes

“Why did Veronica try to abort our baby?” he wondered staring at her closed eyes he has always wanted to have his own kids and definitely with her.

Kyler place his palm on his wife stomach trying to see if he could feel the baby that way

“so there is a….five weeks?” he thought remembering the doctor’s word minutes ago he remembered clearly that five weeks was mentioned by the doctor and for six weeks he haven’t had sex with her

“She’s pregnant?” he asked himself again as he withdraw his palm from her stomach not sure what to think.

Then on a fateful day he had returned home from school finishing high school exam’s and rush home early to share the news with his mother when he met an illstarred situation which shattered him completely

For the first time in twelve years Kyler felt the same feeling of anguish rushing through him as he receive the report confirmation of his wife’s pregnancy and it was indeed confirmed to be five weeks old which clearly means he’s not responsible for the pregnancy.

Taking the piece of paper with him Kyler drove back home heartbroken and feeling lost, his intelligence couldn’t seems to help him this time as he’s confused and dishearten that his mind was lost.

Veronica’s game seems caught up with her as she seems to have lost this particular round and now she couldn’t help but worry what he would do to her, not wanting to take chances she escape from the hospital and went to lodge in an hotel to avoid his wrath.

She had called Conrad many times already and her calls has been put on hold or cut off immediately it was picked, feeling frustrated and horrible Veronica resorted to the last thing ever rather than face shame she will rather face death instead, staring at the piles of medicine in her hands she closed her eyes fixed and swallow up all the pills.

The next time she open her eyes back on the hospital the same bed she was lying down, in a panic she jerked up and try to escape the room but her plan got aborted when she sees him standing at the door like he is deliberately blocking it.

In the same moment he felt like a younger version of his cruel father and slowly his chest tightened so hard that he lost his breathe and gaps loudly, he tried to calm himself down and hurry out of the room in a stupor state.

After Kyler left the room, Veronica quickly rush to the door amidst catching her breathe but to her shock and distress again, the door was blocked by two men in black.

Slowly understanding the situation she walk back to her bed succumbing to whatever might happen to her.

His wife betrayal shattered him so much that even his workers suffered the effect, spending all day at the office was one thing but then giving loads of work and roaring at everyone at the slightest error made everyone crazy and petrified.

Alex knock quietly on the door hoping not to enrage his Boss again and came in after waiting for minutes to hear his response, the room seems a bit messy from the morning which made his confused on what in the world happened in the office.

His eyes search for him in the room and found him rummaging through a piles of paperwork, his dry throat strives for saliva.

“President Black” he called inaudibly

“What?” his voice coarse and made Alex swallowed yet another dry throat.

“The first meeting of the new business team is in five minutes, would you like to…”

“I will be there” he cut short and turn back to his business. Alex nodded and quickly exit the office.

The time seems to have passed in the blink of his eyes as he hurry to the new office where the new team meeting is taking place, he had been so buried in paper document that he forgot all about the meeting.

Kyler entered the room and as the sight of him they all stood on their feet to acknowledge him, the person sitting at the last end of the round table was the last to stand up with reluctance.

“Good day, President Black the meeting started twenty minutes ago” she said and took her seat, so do others.

“I’m sure I don’t owe you an explanation” he said angrily and drag a jotter from the nearest person to him, going through it

“First we would like to introduce the team members…”

“Skip that and tell me the progress” he said rudely and Yasmin almost retort back at him

“Well things are going well and just as planned, it’s being kept secret from anyone else”

“Why are you doing the talking?” he asked irritated at listening to her voice

“Because I I’m the team manager” Yasmin replied with a smirk

Kyler who is already in an awful mood went mad seeing her smirk, he hit the table in a fist, causing everyone on the table to flick at the sudden outburst, not done yet he grab the laptop in front of her and hurl it against the wall.

Yasmin watched in a panic at his fury, she had only wanted to irritate him but not to this extent, feeling frightened she tried to escape his next move and turn to the door but he was quick to catch her and pitch her to a corner while the others let out a gasp

“Get out” he thunderous and in fast pace, everyone else ran out leaving only the two of them and Yasmin at his mercy.

“What are you doing? Get the hell off me” she yelled not giving up

She’s no longer afraid of him and there is no way she’s getting succumb to him now

“Stay still Yasmin” he said in a surprisingly calm voice which baffled her but yet made her calm down a bit.

After waiting for a long time, he finally came out of the office and left the building, the other team members who were lingering to know what happened immediately rush in to check on Yasmin

They found her wiping off her tears and wonder what might have transpired between the two, not sure what to say they all took their seat and wait for her to come around.

“That scum!” Yasmin cursed after forcing her tears back, not wanting to remember the horrible words he said to her

“I will make sure to get you back” she promised.

Kyler took the car key from his driver and drove back to the hospital where he had confined Veronica for two days, seeing her today has made him regain his lost senses and emotion.

The moment he stepped into the room, his eyes couldn’t help but rest on noticing every single details on her, not wanting to give in to any crazy thoughts he avert his gaze and took his seat but then as she speak to him, Kyler’s mind couldn’t help but have a reminisce of their night together and in an instant he felt an irrepressible arouse, getting out of his mind he pinned her to the wall in a fist.

But just when he was about mess up, he had control and the mean words rush out of his lips

“I do not realize how shameless you are to come seduce the second time after what you did, do you really thought doing this will get my attention?” he asked with anger and mockery

“Really? I guess a night isn’t enough for the likes of you, should we have another one then? Right here? Right now?” he attempt to touch her in a careless way that enrage her, the hurt on her face was just something he wanted

If he could be mean to her, then the unwanted feelings will be gone.

When she tried to push him off again he didn’t fight it but rather move back from her and walk out of the office, not looking back.

He drove into the hospital and didn’t bother to park his car properly before heading off to the ward she’s in, when he open the door, he saw her sleeping peacefully but the moment he came near her, her eyes flick open and she jolted away from him

“Calm down” he said and pull her back, closer to him in an embrace

“I’m sorry” he said giving her a shock, Veronica chest pounded hard against his as they hugged

“What…”

“I’m forgiving you” he told her

“What!” she shriek, her voice louder than she intended.

Veronica’s eyes goggled in numbness as the news, she return the embrace by putting her hands around him, her mind trying to process the news

‘Is he really letting her go?’ she wondered to herself pretending to be happy with him.

In the night Kyler requested they sleep on the same bed like they used to and put the past behind them, he has also cheated on her too and treating her like a criminal is not going to settle things, the best is to keep the issue between them and become loving couples again.

Veronica nodded at this but deep down she is afraid of what he might do to her, Black is not someone to condone a cheat and whatever reason he’s letting her free and trying to forget everything remains a puzzle to her as his excuse doesn’t seems a good reason to her for letting go.

“Promise me you will never see him again” he demanded

“I promise” she said and lean in for a kiss on the forehead, hoping this last long.

Accepting a cheat is something he might have done but then becoming like his father is also a nightmare he wouldn’t want to happen, no matter what he hope to have a happy family and be the best husband and father.

Not having anyone to talk to about the incident he called Conrad for a drink at a private bar in order to have a clear discussion, though he had agreed to forgive Veronica but the thought of another having slept with his wife torment him every time he closes his eyes.

The fact that his wife committed adultery simply means he’s failed her at a husband and must have hurt her so much that she felt so helpless and distress.

These questions and tons more travel around Kyler’s head each time and he strive hard to find answers to them, he had gave Veronica his word not to talk or linger upon the incident and now talking or trying to find answers to the troubling question will only means he went back on his word, something a real man shouldn’t do.

“Sorry I’m late” Conrad said walking to the table and taking a seat.

“Have a drink with me” he offered a glass and he took it with a chuckle

Just as he wanted Kyler was in a stupor state before they left the bar and he decided to drive him home in his car and called a designated driver to help drive the other car behind him

he hurried the journey to his house and soon reach there, paying the driver off he struggle to take Kyler into the house and just as he headed for the upper stairs he saw Veronica coming down

“What are you doing here?” she asked scared stiff at the scene in front of her

“Dropping your husband off” he replied with a smirk and continue to walk the stairs

“Are you crazy? Did you want to expose me?” she cried out inaudibly but Conrad could grasps her words

“Don’t forget I’m Kyler’s younger cousin and not only your sex toy” he said looking frolic

“Keep your voice down” she whispered, upset at his nonchalant behavior

Kyler was feeling horrible from the hangover and tried hard to ignore his aches and focus on work, but seeing her walk into the office, he sighs, upset at seeing her.

“Good morning President Black” she greeted as she stood in front of him, with a file paper in her hand

“I don’t think it will be a good morning seeing you Miss Cassidy” he replied grimly, Yasmin smile not minding the harsh way she was answered

“I brought you the approval from the small businesses we will be involving in the new business, except for FOOdie, all other already signed to launch to us” she explained and drop the file in front of him

She waited for him to respond to it but he ignore her and just glance through the file, dropping it after.

She took her steps to leave but then, he stops her with his sudden question

“What do you want?” he asked

“I hope you could give your opinion and probably…”

“From me” he completed cutting her short

“I was about to explain it to you sir”

“You know what I’m talking about so just quit the pretense” he almost yelled, getting up from the chair

He walk across and sat on the table instead, covering some distance between them.

“I’m sure you don’t love my company that much that you wanted so much to work here Yasmin, why exactly are you back here?” he asked more clearly waiting for her answer, he stare right in her eyes reading into them.

“What are you talking about sir? I no longer work here, the only reason why I’m here is because of the collaboration between the company I now work for and yours”

“It’s obvious you are lying Yasmin, you’re rubbing your neck nervously, you do that when you lie to me or do something wrong” he said unable to control his chuckle

Seeing she was caught, she hurrily put her hands down and compose herself a little, putting on a bold front

“Why would I lie to you? It will be better to stop pretending to know me when you know…”

The motion from him made her stop her supposed argument and take a foot back in defense, Kyler get up from the table and walk to her, in a pace of threes, he was closer to her almost feeling her breathe

“You…” he said slowly and calm

“Don’t happen to have feelings for me right?”

The unexpected question got Yasmin’s breathe stopped for a millisecond and she blink consequently to catch her breath back but ended swallowing a saliva in the wrong airway, she cough out in discomfort.

Kyler stare at her not moving an inch away from her or giving her space to catch her breathe

“Can you move away?” she struggle to say amidst the coughs

“Sure” he replied and only then takes two steps back.

After succeeding in stopping her cough, she look back at him upset with her eyes a little red from the coughing

“Do you?”

“Of course I don’t, you almost made me choke” she said angrily and surprise at the way her lie just went smoothly

“That will be the best thing for both of us” he nodded with a sigh and went back to the chair, resting back comfortably

“Give me an amount then” he said again, confusing her

“For what President Black?” she couldn’t hide her irritation

“To make you stop working on this project, I don’t want to keep seeing you here”

“You can name any price, it will cover up for the sex too”

Yasmin was astonish at his infuriated offer, he just offered to pay her off for the work and sex, like some slut,

‘What exactly does he take her for?’ she wondered to herself, not sure how to express her anger at him she inhale and calm down before answering him.

“You must have slept with lot of sluts for the words to come out smoothly from your mouth President Black” she started

“But unfortunately, I I’m not one of your sluts and neither will I give up my job because of some discomfort of yours sir” she breathed concealing the curse words inside of her, not waiting for his response she walk angrily out of his sight.

Yasmin walk into the clubhouse with a gloomy face and head to grab a drink, asking for a more stronger alcohol than she usually take, she gulp it all down despite the bartender words not to drink it all at once. Not satisfied, she took ask for another drink and quickly took it down her throat and felt a sharp pain through her body, knowing she has gone a bit too far, she decided to go to the bathroom.

On the way to the bathroom, she sighted another large room, a little bit far off the loud blasting room, it seems like a VIP room seeing there are bodyguards who look hefty and unfriendly.

“Maybe that’s where she needed to be”

She thought and walk towards the room, after giving a little lie, she’s allowed inside the almost empty room and walk around trying to get a convenient place to sit down.

At a glance to the right side, she sighted President Black and turn away almost immediately, wanting to go back to where she came from

“What is he doing here?” she asked herself, worried he might have seen her, not sure why, Yasmin turn around rather than walk away and let her gaze settle on him longer this time, he looks so drunk with many empty glasses in front of him.

“what could possibly make him look so miserable?” she thought, her heart feeling soften seeing him that way but in a second she wave the feeling of sympathy off, he has made her feels much worst.

“Who are you?” she heard and turn to the man questioning her

“ohh, hmm, I came with him” she quickly said on impulse and gave a smile before approaching the table while the man’s eyes watch her till she sits before backing out.

“What are you doing?” he asked and hearing his clear and sharp voice, he doesn’t seems drunk

“I miss my way” she said and look at him more closely

“I think I should leave” she said and stood up, that quick gaze at him as made her heart jumped again.

She knew she wasn’t over him yet but the feeling of being unfairly treated and used made hatred overcome whatever feelings she might have left for him.

“Sit down!” he said authoritatively and Yasmin hesitated before obeying

“Drink with me” he offered a glass

“I didn’t know President Black get wasted too” she said taking a seat back and pouring herself a drink from his bottle.

“Why are you drowning yourself with alcohol?” she asked

Kyler grunts as he remembers why he came here in the first place, he had a fight with Veronica and it didn’t end well at all as he almost hit her multiple times before he realize what he was doing and hurry out of the house.

He snap his drunken eyes opened and move again for another kiss but Yasmin put her hands out this time to stop him from the act, not someone to take a rejection, he shove her hands off and drag her closer

“President Black!” she called

“Do you know what you are doing right now?” she asked already feeling smitten by their face closeness

“I know what I’m doing, I’m not drunk” he affirmed

He reach for her lips again and stare at it closely like he just found it, then he pull into her for another kiss with his hands stroking her

“You sure you won’t regret this?” she asked again, pulling out.

Kyler push her hard forcing her to lie on her back on the chair, she wanted to stand back but it was too late as he clouded her with his large muscular body

“I won’t regret this” he assured her

Yasmin wanted to refuse him yet but she seems to be in a tight corner as his eyes says he’s not ready to let her go now, she gathered up her courage and start a kiss this time, Kyler respond readily and hovers over her as he seems impatience already.

She slowly give in to his demand and open her mouth to fully receive him, while she raise her hands subconsciously to caress his back, a familiar feelings seems to come to her and she moves a bit faster than she intended

“Their first night” she thought feeling familiar with every part of his body

Because of that night she was fired and had to suffered together chance with another company but now, being in his hands she feels waver as what it may result to afterward but she push the thought off and enclasp with him more, turning for a more sweet kiss.

Yasmin wasn’t sure how they got into the car neither is she aware of the room they entered together last night but opening her eyes the next morning, she was cuddled in his arms which covers her up like duvet.

Waking up in his arms feels like a dream she wishes not to wake up from, watching his bright skinned face makes her whole life seems fulfilled and Yasmin couldn’t help a smile from the corner of her lips

She stare unswerving at him and her smile grows as her stomach rose in remembrance of last night, even if it’s just this and nothing more else, she plant a light and quick kiss on his lips and then speedily close her eyes, pretending to be asleep just in case it wakes him up and it did.

At the taste of the soft flesh on his, Kyler eyes opens in seconds and he looks confused at first as the room isn’t his familiar abode but then he felt someone closer and gaze down at her.

Yasmin waited impatiently to feel his movement but nothing came, she tried opening an eye to check if he’s awake or not but she couldn’t get a look and her curiosity had her opening her eyes wide to meet his gawking eyes.

The time froze at that moment and she seems so flustered that her skin turned pale and her skin start to feel so hot that she looks uncomfortable

“Yasmin” he called out

Not sure how to answer him, she could only stupidly nod her head and pray not to get thrown out of the room naked atleast she should be allow to put on her clothes and take her things with her.

But he did the complete opposite of what she had thought, rather, he release his hands around her and push her back to the bed until he makes sure she was comfortable before he pull himself forward and rest carefully on top of her naked body.

Feeling her face getting red from the contact of their bare bodies, Yasmin swallowed in a panicky state of mind, she place her hands that suddenly looks like a child’s fingers on his broad firm chest and could swear she almost pass out from the response as it seems too much for her body to bear.

“since this happens, I’m going to go all the way” he whispered close to her left ears and then gave her earlobe a soft kiss before biting on it like a sweet candy he might not want to let go any time.

That was the only word Yasmin could manage to let out of her lips before he locked their lips together and force her to let out a soft quick moan, when she tried to move her hands from his chest, he held it down like he was expecting her to want to resist and place them back on his chest holding on to them as he continue the kiss with his mouth.

Unlike their first time, she isn’t drunk now and had a complete knowledge of her action, not wanting to miss the moment, she decide to go all the way and think about whatever consequences will follow later.

Kyler moves the kiss from the lips and drift his head down to her wrist giving her a quick bite on both wrists

“What’s this perfume?” he asked gently raising his head and let his eyes settle on her

“Malus Pumila” she answered a bit hesitant worried if it’s putting him off

“It’s the same as that night” he said more to himself and looks pleased

Kissing her wrist again to let the scent pass through his nose made him feel ardor as he stares at her body, under his deep piercing stares, Yasmin could not help but feel a bit timid and she tried turning her face away from him but he grab her chin not giving her the chance to

“Don’t turn away” he told her, he sounds annoyed but his face seems pleading.

Yasmin slowly nodded and this time as he draw his face in to kiss her, she didn’t hesitate to meet him halfway and complete the kiss.
