Meeting The King

I was sitting watching Netflix on my laptop finally having a lazy day, with work and pack chores I don't get many of these. I sit back smiling but the bedroom door opening breaks my relaxing moment. Emma, my brother's mate, walks into my bedroom, she frantically runs to my mirror fixing her hair.

"We have to go to the pack house, the Alpha's holding a meeting," she tells me still fixing her hair.

The Alpha is really strict when he's holding a meeting, you have to look smart or he gets very angry. I quickly get up fixing myself too, once I was ready we both walk down to see Kyle, my older brother, standing by the door. He sends me a nervous smile, he hated the Alpha but was also rather scared of him.

"You don't have to come Clara, I could tell everyone you're feeling ill" he suggest with a smile, as much as I would love to take him up on his offer, I knew better.

"That won't work, the alpha will hear about it and probably send a doctor over to confirm it, it's fine I'll sit at the back with Grace" I smile opening the front door, everyone walking by all held the same expression, fear.

I walk ahead a little as we make our way to the pack house, everyone was cramming in not wanting to be late. If you were you'd face a rather harsh punishment, the alpha loves his harsh punishments. Once we finally make it in I spot Grace sitting at the back as usual. I wave goodbye to Kyle and Emma walking over to Grace.

She was my only friend here, I'm not much of a people person, actually I hate talking to anyone. She was the only person who cared enough to give me time to warm up to her, everyone else just brushed me off.

"Do you know what this is about?" I ask sitting next to her but she just shakes her head, well that's strange she always knows everything, that's the perk of being her friend!

The hall falls silent indicating the alpha had entered the room, I immediately face forward and still, no sudden movements!

"Pack members, I have held this meeting because I've just had word from the Alpha King that he's coming today, he wants to see if his mate is here" the Alpha began his voice echoing through the room "he'll be here any second, I want you to show him the respect I've taught you, you know what will happen if you don't "he growls, I look down to the floor not wanting to make eye contact with that man.

"Well this is great," I sigh sitting back in my chair crossing my arms, first I have to listen to a crazy man talk and now, the alpha king is gonna come and waste more of my time!

Grace sends me a confused look, fixing her shirt as she went. Come on like the future queen is gonna be sat in this room. I look back at my brother who looked nervously at me, I just shrug my shoulders turning around. Immediately, a smell fills my nose, it wasn't a bad smell but quite the opposite actually.

"It's happening! I wondered why it was taking this long!" My wolf excitedly says, before I had time to process what she says the main doors open, causing the smell to grow stronger.

The Alpha walks over to the door probably to greet the king, I shift in my seat my wolf getting more excited, causing me to get more nervous!

"She's here" I hear a mans voice say, just his voice sending weird shivers down my spine, what in the heck is happening?!

"All shewolves rise!" The Alpha's voice shouts, I slowly rise to my feet the weird feeling not going away.

"Are you okay?" Grace whispers, noticing my mood changing immediately, I generally didn't know how to answer that question.

"II don't know what's going on" I whisper back, the man, who I think was the king, starts to walk down the isles going passed a bunch of girls.

I couldn't see his face as I was near the back, I start to feel like I was sweaty from just standing here, maybe I'm coming down with something. I was fine when I left the house, actually I was fine two minutes ago! Can a cold randomly come on that quick? Maybe a I should have took Kyle's offer, if a doctor did come I'd know what's going on with me!

Row by row the man continues to pass everyone, but still hadn't stopped at a single girl, why was this taking so long?! Our row and the one beside us were the final ones, I was right in the middle which meant I couldn't run off anywhere, I was stuck glued in with a bunch of people!

He stops at the start of our row, the feeling just got stronger and stronger, I decide to look down hoping he'd just pass by me and leave. Could I be dehydrated? After this whole thing ends I'm gonna down a bottle of water.

He begins to make his journey down the row, every step he took the feeling grew stronger and stronger. As I was still looking at the floor I only see his very fancy shoes, they must have been expensive! I mean why spend that much on a pair of shoes? They're just gonna get used and worn after awhile anyway.

He starts to pass but stops, I see him take steps backwards stopping to stand in front of me. Immediately I start to feel a pull towards him, wait what's happening?

"Look up" his deep voice says, once again this sends intense shivers to fire around my body.

When I don't go to move he places his hand under my chin, once our skin touched the sparks make an appearance.

My wolf continues to go crazy, saying things over and over in my head that I didn't understand. He slowly moves my head up, his face slowly revealing itself, the thing standing out most were his eyes. He had forest green eyes that I immediately get lost in, if that's even possible.

"Mate! We've found mate!" My wolf cheers in my head, which finally makes things start clicking in my brain, now the feelings make sense!

"My queen, what's your name?" He asks his eyes not leaving mine for even a second, I go to open my mouth but no words came out, the alpha went to speak but the man in front of me cuts him off "did I ask you?!" He growls, immediately everyone puts their heads down in respect apart from me, well I couldn't really his hand was still under my chin and I didn't actually feel the need too.

"Mmy names Clara, Clara Jacobs" I somehow say, I couldn't actually find any words to sum this moment up, which is new for me.

He smiles, slowly moving his hand from my chin but runs it down my arm. His skin rubbing against mine made the sparks fly everywhere, like little fireworks dancing around the places he touched. He finally reaches my hand interlocking our fingers, my hand fit perfectly in his as they were made to be placed together.

"They were" my wolf tells me, right yeah they are, things are happening so quickly I'm forgetting.

He begins to walk me out the isle, I turn back looking at Grace who wore a shocked expression, so no one is gonna help me? He slowly leads me to walk down the stairs, the stares I get from people as we pass burnt holes in the back of my head. Eventually, we reach the bottom where the Alpha and Luna were standing. The Luna sends me a smile, she was always nice while the Alpha just looks me up and down, I don't feel intimidated at all!!

He finally stops walking but turns us so I was now facing the pack, everyone wore the same expression, I think even my face was the same. I take a look up at Kyle, he was shaking his head it seemed as though he was trying to get up, but Emma was preventing him from doing so.

"I have found your Queen, now many of you may feel entitled that you knew her before, that entitlement must end now" the King says his voice held so much power, I turn my attention to the ground as the eyes were just making a feeling of discomfort take over my body.

He dismisses everyone immediately people start filling out the room rather quickly. Some were even sending me death glares, it's not my fault it isn't like I asked to be his mate! It kind of well happened.

"Now my love, I need to have a word with the Alpha, some of my men will go along with you so you can pack" the king turns to me, wait that means I have to leave, but I don't wanna leave Kyle or Grace and well, Emma I guess.

"Okay your majesty" I say, my eyes just on the ground to maybe show him respect, my nerves were just everywhere at the minute.

"My love, you're the one person who doesn't have to address me by that, it's Grayson to you" he smiles, I just nod still looking at the ground.

"Sorry your maj I mean Grayson" I smile, he puts his hand under my chin lifting my head to look in his eyes again.

Four mean looking men with swords walk over, they bow their heads towards Grayson than at me, why are they bowing towards me?

"Because you're now queen" my wolf says in a duh tone, oh right yeah keep forgetting that.

"These are my men, they'll protect you while you pack your things" Grayson smiles, I just nod walking out the room the four men surrounding me.

As I make it outside, everyone in the pack were there. Everyone turns to stare at me, now I'm glad I have these four men protecting me, I was not getting good vibes from these people. I start to walk towards my house, the journey felt much longer than it ever has before. The crowd of people would stare at me than move aside, forming a line for me and these men to walk through.

In what felt like forever we stop outside my house, one of the men tell me to stop. He nods to the others before making his way into the house, while I had to remain outside with the other three guys, who were blocking the crowd of people from being up close and personal with me.

"He's making sure no one is hiding in the house your majesty, we don't want anyone to jump out and try to harm you" one of the men tell me, I was much to nervous to ask them what was happening, so I'm glad he answered for me.

I nod taking a look back at the house, if I have to leave I wonder if I'll ever come back here. Wait can I still see Kyle? He's the only family I have, I can't just cut ties with him. Eventually, the man walks out standing by the door with a nod, I make my way down the path but as I get closer I hear Kyle shouting.

When I reach the door, I could see him shouting in the kitchen with his hands on his hips. He feels my presence by the door where he turns to look in my direction, immediately he runs to stand in front of me but the men that were protecting me block him from actually getting close.

"She's my little sister!" He shouts, but the men don't budge from the square they had me in.

"She's also now the queen, it's our duty to protect her" one says his face just straight with no emotion, I guess it's his job "now move aside, the queen has to pack her things" he continues, this seems to annoy Kyle more who leans back going to punch the man in the face.

The guy dodges his attempt, but in a second Kyle is tackled to the floor. He fought against the guy but he was no match. Another guard man places his hand on my arm, where he begins to lead me up the stairs asking where my bedroom was located. I walk in front opening the door, he holds his finger up walking in the room first looking around, did he really have to scope my bedroom out? No one would be hiding in there!

"All clear, I'll just be outside the door your majesty" he says with a bow of the head, I smile with a nod but place my back against the door once it closed.

I remain by the door for a second, trying to get my head around what just happened. I'm queen.

I finish packing the final bag, I know this was a good thing but I couldn't help but feel sad. I mean it's great that I've found my mate, but it meant I had to leave my brother who's stood by me through all the hard times. He's angry now but I know he'd tell me I was being stupid and how good of a thing this was, it's not like I'll never see him again, I hope.

I zip my bag up with a sigh, I hope Grayson is nice and doesn't treat me poorly, I've saw first hand what some people are like to their mates. I pick my bags up walking towards the door, once I open it more of the guys were standing outside my door. They bow their heads before two of them take my bags off me, while the other two escort me out my bedroom.

"Where's my brother?" I ask, this actually being the first time I've spoke since I left the meeting, they quickly walk me down the stairs none of them answering my question.

Once they open the front door all I could hear was shouting, has the whole pack turned against me ? Does that mean they want to attack me? What the heck is going on?!

"Everyone step back!" The first guy shouts, I'm not gonna lie it was loud, one of the men grabs my arm pulling me out the house "anyone who tries to approach the queen will be taken out!" The first guy shouts again, were these people really trying to hurt me? I haven't done anything.

In what feels like forever, we arrive back outside the pack hall, where the meeting took place. Grayson was waiting outside talking with the Alpha, but it didn't seem as though it was a happy discussion. He senses I'm there immediately looking up, he says a final thing to the Alpha before walking away and over to me.

"All ready, my love?" He asks, his persona changing completely from what I saw with the Alpha, I nod with a little smile "great, time to go home" he smiles, he moves closer to me placing his arm around my shoulders, home I thought this was my home.

"My Queen" he smiles moving a piece of hair out my face, he rests his hand on my cheek sparks just erupting where he touched "you're gonna love living in the castle" he smiles, I just nod looking down at the floor, I didn't know how I was gonna feel about this all really.

"I understand you are a bit apprehensive and it might take a little while for you to warm up to me but my love, I promise with every ounce of my being that I will protect you" he says looking me deep in the eyes, I nod with a smile once again looking down, I'm not speaking because I'm scared of him I just don't talk much.

The car ride was long and silent, he'd look over at me sending me a soft smile but would look away again. He whispers we're nearly there just as I see a huge beautiful castle on the mountain, wait I'm going to live there?! My face must have held pure amazement because he smiles, as we got closer it just begin even more incredible.

Whose able to built places like this?! White gates soon open before we even get to them which led into the beautiful castle, it was something out of a literal fairytale.

"This is home" Greyson smiles looking over at me, the door gets opened Grayson getting out first.

"This is where you are going be staying, if something doesn't sit well with you in here just tell me" he says closing the door behind him, while I just walk around the room "I mean anything, say you don't like the colour of the walls, I can have it changed in a matter of hours" he rambles on causing a little laugh to escape my lips, he looks up smiling at me.

"Everything is great" I smile finally speaking after hours of not, I don't think I've spoke since I told him my name "I know I haven't spoken much, it's not because of the colour of the walls or you, it just takes me awhile get used to people, I haven't had the best upbringing which makes me cautious around new people" I start to explain looking at him, I didn't want to go into full detail about what's happened, I don't think I'm ready to do that yet.

"You do not have anything to be cautious about now I'm here, I'm going to look after you Clara" he tells me getting closer, I just nod looking to the ground "you do not have to talk to anyone you don't want to, that includes me" he smiles but I shake my head looking to the side.

"I want and will talk to you, trust me you'll be sick of the sound of my voice once I've got my feet under the table" I laugh he smiles but also shakes his head.

"I'll never get sick of the sound of your voice, if I could I'd only hear your voice" he says looking at me in the eyes but his phone rings, well that ruined the moment!

He pulls it out sighing saying he better go, he begins to walk towards the door about to answer his phone but I stop him.

"Grayson, thank you" I smile still stood in the same place I was before, he turns to look at me with a huge smile on his face.

"I am the one that should be thanking you, get some rest we have a busy tomorrow" he smiles before leaving and closing the door, I sigh taking a look at my new room.

When I woke up this morning, I would have never thought this was how my day would be ending.

I lay in bed looking at the ceiling for hours, I managed to get maybe 3 or 4 hours sleep but that was all. I had this problem when Kyle and me first moved into my old pack, no matter how hard I tried I could never fully get to sleep. Kyle always said it boiled down to our past and how I haven't fully accepted the things that happened, he thinks if I try to accept them it would help me get over it. But I don't know if I'm ready to do that yet.

I turn my attention to the window to see the sun beginning to come up, I guess there's no point trying to fall back to sleep now. I decide to get up and start getting ready for the day, the early bird catches the worm I guess. The amazing thing about this room was there was a bathroom connected to it, which meant I didn't have to see anyone else I could just start getting ready. I round my things up and hop in the shower, hoping that would help to kill time.

The door opening makes me jump looking towards the door, Grayson makes his way in smiling at me, I sigh a sigh of relief turning my body so I was facing him.

"Morning my love, did you have a nice rest?" He asks making his way over to me, I just nod smiling but really I wanted to say how bad my sleep actually was.

"Then do it, it's mate" my wolf tells me, I block her out so Grayson wouldn't know she butted in.

"Well let's go get you some breakfast, we have a busy day ahead of us" he smiles holding his arm out, I smile taking his arm allowing him to lead me out the room.

I'm once again taken through the maze of corridors and doors, how on earth do people find their way around? All the corridors look the same! We soon arrive in a huge dinning hall, the table must have been the biggest I've ever seen! You could probably fit a whole pack here if you wanted, Grayson must have many dinner meetings in here, but how would you get around to talking to everyone? I have so many questions!

"I'm assuming you like the dinning room" Grayson smiles pulling me out my thoughts once again, I always get lost in my thoughts as I don't talk much, people always like to tell me how much of a problem it is.

I nod with a smile as he leads to a seat pulling it out for me, I thank him taking the seat which was extremely comfortable! He takes his seat across from me as the doors open with around four people walking in. They immediately start to place plates of food and drink in front of us, looking at the food it was incredibly fancy! Another girl makes her way in handing me a napkin but looked rather nervous, I send her a smile which she soon returns with a bow of her head.

"I hope the food is to your majesty's liking, if you need anything we'll just be outside" one of the men smile, Grayson thanks him which immediately makes them all leave the room.

"You look confused my love" Grayson laughs a little looking at me, oh I must have got lost in my thoughts again, I need to stop doing that.

"That's what you are thinking about when you space out? Then please think out loud more often, I loved hearing how your mind works" he smiles causing me to look up, he doesn't think I'm weird.

"Are you sure? Some of the thoughts I get are confusing" I say but he just smiles nodding his head "okay, but boy you don't know what you've just put yourself through" I laugh causing him to laugh too "I mean I don't know what this is but I'll try it" I smile picking my spoon up, as soon as I put in my mouth a whoa comes out.

"I'm guessing you like it" he smiles looking over at me, I just nod my head staring at the amazing creation in front of me "I'll tell the cooks how much you loved it, they'll be very pleased" he tells me I just nod but look to the side, I wish I could tell them but that would mean I have to speak to them and I'm just only warming up to speak to Grayson.

"I thought you were going to tell me your thoughts" he smiles snapping me out of my thoughts, I just smile looking down at the table.

"It's just I should thank them and I want to but, I find it hard to talk new people like it's taken me this long to finally talk to you, I'm just so stupid" I sigh shaking my head still staring at the table, he went to speak but I do before he could "I mean I'm supposed to be queen, but I can't even bring myself to to talk to a cook, maybe you should just reject me an" I start but this time he cuts me off.

"There is no way I'm rejecting you, you're mine Clara, you and I are going to be together forever, you are not stupid far from it, you are going to be an amazing queen" he tells me taking hold of my hands from across the table, the sparks of electricity went through my arms cause me to smile "I just know that you are going be able to talk to whoever you want soon, but until then I'll be your voice" he smiles rubbing his thumb over my hands, I smile looking down once again but he pulls my chin up to look at him.

"Maybe I can write them a letter! Oh and I could say how amazing they were and oh, I could tell the nice nervous girl there was no need to be scared, I mean look at me" I say thinking out loud like he told me "I just need paper and a pen, knowing me I'll need a bunch of paper because I like to write a lot and I'm doing it again" I say but he shakes he head telling me to continue.

"The garden was always my mothers favourite, so my father would add more and more to make her love it more" he smiles standing beside me "I confess I have let it go a little, the gardeners make it look great but I've just forgotten about it since she left" he sighs looking down at the ground, I don't know what's happened to his mother or father for that matter, but it to seems make him sad.

I reach over taking his hand in mine causing him to look up, I send him a sympathetic smile which he soon returns but also places a kiss on my hand. The sparks that erupted felt as though fireworks were dancing over my skin, I send him another smile as he looks at the garden once more.

"As you also like it so much, I think I'm going to take a leaf out my fathers book and start adding things, with your help of course" he smiles looking to the side at me, I just nod agreeing with him "my mother loved this bench up here, she would spend hours just looking at the flowers" he explains as a brown bench comes into view, a circle of rose bushes well circled it.

Kyle always tells me that we don't have any parents, we used to but they're long gone now that's why we need to stay together. I should ask when is it okay to speak to Kyle, I hope he's not too annoyed that I haven't spoke to him yet, I mean it hasn't even been 24 hours if I'm honest.

"Yesterday, I spoke with your old Alpha and he proceeded to tell me" Grayson starts to speak but is cut off by his phone, he sighs apologising before quickly answering the phone "I told you not to disturb me today, I couldn't care less what those delinquents think, I'm spending the day with my mate" he says into the phone, I didn't want to make it seem like I was earwigging so I look to the side.

He soon hangs up the phone with a sigh looking at me, he sends me a soft smile slipping his phone into his pocket.

"My love, as much as it pains me to say I have to work for a few hours, I apologise that we can't spend the whole day together but I promise I'll make it up to you" he sighs looking at me with sad eyes , I take his hands in mine sending him a smile.

"It's okay, you're king your work is so important that sometimes you can't help but get pulled away, anyway we have a whole lifetime to spend time together" I smile which immediately makes a huge smile fill his face.

"You don't understand how incredible it is to hear you say that, this won't be a regular occurrence after today I'm telling them delinquents when I'm with my mate, nothing is pulling me away" he smiles pulling me closer to him, which meant our faces were now inches from each other "you won't be alone my love, my Beta Josh's mate Daisy will be here with you" he smiles our faces even closer than before, a tiny piece of fear makes it way through me at first but I shake it off, I need to try and push this whole afraid to talk thing to the side, I'm queen now I need to start acting like one.

"Oh that's gonna be nice, try not take too long though please" I smile, I was gonna be strong and try my hardest but I still didn't want him away for too long.

"I promise I'll be as quickly as I can" he smiles leaning forward placing a single kiss on my head, he places his hand on my cheek rubbing his thumb over it for a few seconds before rising to his feet walking away.

I sit at the bench watching him leave as the other side of me a feel a persons presence, I turn my head to see a young girl, maybe a little older than me stood there. She looks nervous playing with her hands, I'm gonna take a guess and say this must be Daisy.

"Daisy?" I ask having built up the courage to speak, she immediately looks up nodding her head but looks back to the ground "you can come sit with me if you like, I promise I don't bite" I smile a part of me wanting her to feel as welcoming as possible, I didn't know how I was getting this much courage to speak so freely.

"Thank you your majesty, I'm sorry I'm so nervous I'm not that good around a new people, I'm sorry I'm talking too much I'll stop" she rambles taking a seat beside me, she's acting how I act around new people!

"Okay first off, call me Clara your majesty is very formal and second, you don't have to be nervous trust me I know what that's like, you're looking at one of the pro nervous people" I laugh making her look up, she nods looking kind of surprised at me "I'm not really much of a talker, honestly I never start a conversation or keep a very good one with new people, so it just shows what kind of person you must be if I'm comfortable talking with you like this" I smile at Daisy who was just smiling from ear to ear, it seemed she was getting more comfortable with me.

"I'm the same! It's like I just freeze when I'm around people I don't know, I have no idea why but I can't help it!" She exclaims turning to actually look at me, before she would look at me but her eyes would soon dart to the floor "I thought I was the only one that gets like this, it's so great to hear other people go through the same thing as me!" She says happily, I just nod understanding exactly where she was coming from.

"This last day I've learnt you've just got to try and jump in the deep end, yes it's hard but look at us, we're here having a full conversation" I smile she nods sitting back on the bench "I can see that you and me are gonna friends" I smile which makes her sit up with hopeful eyes.

"That would be amazing! I had a few friends back at my old pack but once I met Josh I had to leave, no one here is my age and I'm too afraid to talk to the men who are so you saying that is actually great!" She smiles happily but looks at me worried for a second, I shake my head smiling.

"I agree fully" I smile which makes her wrap her arms around me in a tight hug thanking me.

I made a true life long friend that day.

She was actually being so open with me, she told me how lonely she's felt since she moved here. She said she's so happy that she's found Josh and wouldn't change it for the world, but as he's always working here she's alone as she doesn't have any friends. I told her how that's all changing now I'm here, honestly she would be helping me because I'd be just like her if she wasn't here.

"I see you two are getting on" a male voice says, I look over and see Grayson with another man standing there, I'm gonna guess this is Josh.

"Yeah it's been really fun, it's the first time in ages that I've enjoyed myself here" Daisy says as we both get up walking over to the guys, Grayson was just smiling at me as I get closer.

"Ouch" Josh says holding his heart, Daisy just hits his arm saying you know what I mean, while Grayson puts his arm around my shoulders pulling me to stand next to him "we best be getting off anyway Das, it's been lovely meeting you Clara" Josh smiles at me, wait did we actually meet cause we didn't even speak to each other?

I send him a smile and a wave before he and Daisy begin to walk away, Grayson looks down at me smiling which I return.

"On with the tour!" He smiles pulling me towards the castle, I laugh shaking my head at him as I'm taken into the castle.

The next few hours were just full of tours of the different places around the castle, I've seen the huge kitchen which I'm not kidding, around hundred people were busy cooking. There was also a huge library which had thousands of books, I do love reading so this is probably where I'm gonna spend a majority of my time.

We were now walking down a long hallway of paintings, the ones at the start of the hall seemed to be really old. I take a glance to the little plaque hanging on one of them, it was dated to 1789! They were all of what looked families, obviously royal families as they all wore crowns or tiaras. We come to a stop on the final photo, checking the date it was dated back to 1999, well that's a huge jump from the one I saw down the hall.

"These are the family portraits, every generation of king and queen are here with their children" he explains pointing down the hall, aww it's like a family tradition "this is my parents and I" he says turning to look at the last photo from the hall, I turn looking at the little boy who I now know is Grayson.

"When we get married and have children, our portrait will go here" he smiles pointing to a blank space beside his family's one, this immediately makes me gulp just thinking about having children, I don't think I'm ready yet.

Grayson looks over at me staring at the blank wall, I think something clicks in his mind as he reaches over taking my hand, which actually snaps me out of whatever trance I was in.

"Hey, we won't do any of that until you are completely ready, take as much time as you need" he says rubbing his thumb over my hand "when we eventually do those things, we don't have to have children for years so do not worry, also I'm not ready to become a father yet either" he says looking at me, I smile placing a kiss on his forehead as a thank you.

"I think it's time for dinner, don't you?" He asks with a smile, before I could answer my stomach rumbling answers for me "I'll take that as a yes" he smiles holding his arm out, I shake my head taking his arm as he led me out the long hallway and away from his dads scary eyes. Which I came to find out, I'd be seeing and hearing about more of those scary eyes.

We had just finished dinner and were talking at the table, when the door knocks a man walks in quickly followed by Josh, who looked rather annoyed.

"Sorry to disturb you sir, but we have an important matter to discus that you were putting off back at the meeting" the man says bowing his head a little at the start.

"Sorry Gray, I tried telling him that you wanted to wait until Clara was ready to face crowds" Josh joins the conversation pushing the dude to the side, whoa it seems they don't really like each other.

I look to Grayson sending him a questioning look, but before he could answer my question I asked with my eyes the dude spoke up again.

"It's tradition, you can't just bypass that and do your own thing, your father would want you to" the dude starts to say, but Grayson is quick to cut the dude off midsentence.

"My father isn't here!" He shouts causing everyone to jump in shock, especially me, I so wanted to speak and ask what was going on but that dude being here was causing me to not want to speak.

Gray looks over at my face, somehow knowing I wanted to speak but also not wanting to in front of the men.

"Give us a moment" he says turning to the two men, the dude bows his head walking out the door while Josh mouths sorry following him out "You wanted to speak my love" he asks with a little smile, I just nod waiting until the door was fully closed.

"What are they talking about?" I ask knowing I could have easily asked that question with those men in here, but I just wasn't ready for that.

"It's tradition as he said, for when a king finds his mate he is to present her to his people on the main balcony of the castle, in most cases the king presents his mate to his people today, but I do not want to rush into anything you are not comfortable with doing" he tells me which was sweet, the people he had a meeting with earlier probably kept going on about the matter and he held out for me.

"Would I have to speak to anyone?" I ask getting an idea, he shakes his head giving me a look "then why not do it tonight, I mean it'll get that weird man off your back and it will be keeping with the tradition" I suggest wanting to help him out, his face lights up where he reaches across the table taking my hand.

"Are you sure you are ready my love?" He asks, I nod my head with a smile as he places a kiss on my head while calling the two men back in "we have decided we will do the presenting of the queen tonight, I can trust you'll do what you need to set it up" he says the annoying man nodding beginning to walk backwards.

"Of course sir, the queen will have to go and get fitted for the dress she will wear" the man says looking over at me, Gray looks at me while Josh speaks up.

"Daisy will go with you Clara, she asked to help when she heard what needs to happen" he says which makes me smile, at least I'll be with someone I'm comfortable with.

I smile sending a nod to Grayson who agrees and tells everyone to get it all done, the next few hours were rather hectic.

For the next few hours, I was stood up straight on a little platform thing with two woman poking and prodding me. Daisy was there the whole time though keeping me company, I felt I could have a full conversation with her as the two woman were wrapped up discussing sizes and poking me!

The two woman leave for awhile telling us not to leave the room, this gave me and Daisy time to do our hair and makeup, which wasn't a lot as she said I didn't need to wear any. They return with a full dress where they asked who would help me put it on. I immediately look at Daisy who nods causing the two woman to leave, I sincerely didn't want one of them poking me again.

"You're gonna look amazing Clara" Daisy smiles going back to do the back up, I mean it was absolutely beautiful, probably the nicest thing I've ever worn.

It was light blue with a kind of corset top, it was short at the front but longer at the back. The detailing was also beautiful, it had pink roses over the whole thing, again it was beautiful.

"This whole thing is really technical, the king having to present his mate to his people" I say as she continues to do my dress up and the back.

"Yeah I know, but Josh told me it was tradition and people around here love their traditions" she laughs eventually managing to do the dress up "but it will be nice so everyone can see who their queen is" she tells me while handing me a pair of high heels.

"My old pack knows, they probably told people who told other people" I start to say but she shakes her head, also handing me a pair of earrings.

"Nope, they were told they aren't allowed to tell anyone that you're queen, all communications to other packs have been cut off until this happens" she tells me, now handing me a bracelet while putting a necklace on me.

That's probably why Kyle hasn't contacted me yet, he physically can't! I thought he was just mad at me or something, well he probably is that too. I turn to look at myself in the mirror but I didn't recognise myself, I don't think I've ever looked this good before!

"Now let's show your people who their new queen is" Daisy smiles behind me placing her hands on my shoulders, I send her a smile through the mirror nodding.

"My love, you look incredible" he tells me looking me up and down, I smile thanking him while he still stood there somewhat gobsmacked.

"You look amazing too" I tell him smiling, he went to speak but a short man wearing a grey suit walks over behind him speaks before he could.

"When you're ready sir," he says bowing his head at the start, everyone but Josh and Daisy bow their heads when they talk to Grayson, I think it's to show him some kind of respect.

Gray just nods to the man who walks away, I take a look at the closed double doors. When I walk through them all eyes are gonna be on me, that's not intimating at all! Gray takes my hand causing me to look away from the doors.

"I'll be right beside you" he smiles, I nod with a smile feeling the tiniest better "now you need to wait here until I say your name, then all you need to do is put that smile on your beautiful face and stand beside me, okay?" He asks placing his hands on my shoulders, I nod going over the steps in my head so I didn't mess up.

He smiles walking towards the two doors which were soon opened, immediately loud cheers and claps erupted from outside. I didn't focus on that but on the steps he told me, I couldn't mess this up.

"Good evening everyone, thank you for coming today to witness this tremendous occasion, I will presenting my incredible mate to you all as your new queen" he starts his speak, I didn't know how he has the courage to talk to all of them people, but I guess it's his job.

The man from before smiles at me, he directs me to walk up the few steps outside the door, this meant I was about to walk out. All I need to do is smile and stand beside Grayson, that's easy and impossible to mess up.

"Now with no further or do, I would like to present my mate, your queen, Queen Clara Jacobs" his voice says, I look to the man who nods telling me to go.

"You're doing incredible my love" Gray whispers leaning down to my ear, I look up at him smiling but soon turn back to the crowd which hadn't even got a bit quieter "once again thank you for coming, now the queen and I must be going, goodbye" he smiles before turning around, he holds his arm up that I take as he leads me back into the double doors.

The cheers and claps didn't end even when the doors where closed, they were just more drowned out but you could still hear them. Once we walk down the stairs I relax but was so happy with myself that I actually did that, I can't believe I managed to stand out on the balcony with all those people looking at me but I'm glad I did.

"Well done Clara! You did amazing" Daisy smiles wrapping me in a hug, I thank her hugging back as Josh walks up.

"Yep you're a natural, now this is when the real work starts" he smiles looking up at Grayson, I look over sending him a questioning look.

"Yes, this is where I will come in" the guy from before smiles bowing his head and Gray and I.

"My love, this is your royal advisor, Mason Thomas" Gray smiles pointing to the guy, I can stop calling him the guy from before now.

"My job is to assist you on all your jobs as queen, I'll keep you moving and sort your schedule, we're going to be spending most days together" he smiles bowing his head once again, wait I'm gonna be spending most of my time with him! Well he seems nice enough.

Gray is pulled away a little by Josh, which meant Mason and I were alone talking. Come on Clara you're queen, start acting like one.

"I didn't even know I'd get an advisor, what kind of work and schedule will I have?" I ask actually speaking, yes girl!

"You'll have your royal duties as queen, as like the king you have duties you must do, yours are more for the people" he explains smiling, that's means talking to even more people but it's okay I can do it....I think "I'd take the rest of this week easy ma'am, after your coronation at the end of the week, you'll be rushed off your feet for awhile" he smiles which was new information for me, I have to have a coronation?

"By the look on your face I can assume you knew none of this" he smiles while I just nod my head "it's quite a simple ceremony, you'll be crowed as queen by the king beside you and that's it" he smiles making it sound simple, but I knew not many things in this place were simple.

"And after my coronation is when my duties will start as queen?" I ask which he nods to smiling "gosh this is all very technical" I laugh a little, he nods smiling looking to the ground.

"That's why I'm here ma'am, now if I may, I suggest you were clothes that will cover your neck just until you're marked" he smiles placing his hands behind his back, I send him a questioning look not understand why "well you'll be the centre of attention ma'am, the press will have a field day with the small matter of you not being marked and not at the important visits you'll be making" he explains which totally makes sense, let's hope I can find some nice things to cover my neck with.

"Well I guess I'll need to invest in some turtle necks and scarfs for the time being" I laugh which also makes him laugh too "well I can already tell it's going to be a pleasure to work with you" I smile as I see Gray start to make his way back over.

"The pleasure will be all mine ma'am, have a lovely rest of your evening" he smiles bowing his head before walking way.

Gray walks over smiling down at me, I can't believe I just did all that. Daisy shouts something about a party before I'm pulled away by Gray, to an apparent party.

•Minutes before Clara is presented as Queen•

"This thing will be on in a minute, hurry up!" Cyrus screams through the room, his voice so loud that a few things shook.

Cyrus was the kind of man you wouldn't want to mess with, he's very old school in his ways in more ways than others. He had let himself go in his old age, he had a round beer like belly and a shabby beard, with a temper that could scare anyone.

"We were just making snacks, why is this so important anyway?" His wife Alison asks walking in with a plate of stuff.

She on the other hand was completely different to her husband, while he let himself go she took pride in herself. She always wore the latest clothes and never went out the house looking nothing less of perfect.

"They're about to present the new queen, it's something everyone should watch speaking of everyone, where's Wes and Melissa?" He asks opening another can of beer, as he gulped the liquor down most of it feel on his chest.

"Right here calm it" Wes says walking beside his wife Melissa, Melissa like always not making eye contact with Cyrus.

She was one of the many people scared of Cyrus, she had to deal with him though as Cyrus was Wes's older brother. She also knew what his temper was like and didn't want to test him, remembering what happened last time she attempted that very thing. Her husband Wes was an out going man, he was always considered as a people person. While she was was completely different, she was more reserved and only spoke when she was spoken to.

"Alright shut its on!" Cyrus shouts throwing the empty can of beer at the wall, he knew someone was going to pick that up for him.

"Good evening everyone" the king began to speak as Cyrus spoke up again interrupting the others from hearing.

"Ha just imagine it's your daughter haha" he laughs shoving food in his cake hole, like always most of it falling in his went top.

The king speaking once again catches everyone's attention, he was about to announce who was to be the new queen.

"Now with no further or do, I would like to present my mate, your queen, Queen Clara Jacobs" the king says with a smile, beer immediately spills from Cyrus's mouth as the new queen began to walk out the doors.

"My baby" Melissa whispers tears pricking her eyes, she looks to Wes who also looked as though he was going to cry.

The king and queen stand there for a few minutes waving at some people, Melissa couldn't take her eyes off Clara, she looked so grown up. Eventually they wave goodbye and make their way back into the doors, which were closed behind them.

The room was silent, just the sound of the cheers from the tv fill the room. Cyrus rising from his seat looking back at Melissa and Wes.

"You need to get in contact with her, this could be incredible just the thing we need to boost the business!" He cheers happily, this immediately makes something change in Melissa.

Today was Sunday, the day of my coronation, according to Daisy it was my last day of freedom! I was just relieved that this whole coronation chaos could finally come to an end.

The lady's with my dress had just left, they needed to sort the last few details out. Thankfully, they'd done most of the poking and prodding for my other dress, which meant it was quicker and I wasn't poked as much. Gray walks in the room after them smiling at me, I just send him a confused look but smile back.

"My love, this is an incredible day and milestone you are about to take, you should be more excited" he tells me still smiling, I smile but shake my head.

"This week has just been insanely stressful, Daisy has been helping but it's still been a lot" I say picking my things up, the woman insisted that I not carry anything while they were working, I just think they were trying to be annoying.

"I do apologise that I haven't been around much my love, work has been endless but so important that I couldn't hold it off" he says taking my hands, I shake my head at him not wanting him to feel bad.

"You have nothing to apologise for, you were doing your job and I get that" I tell him which immediately makes him smile, whilst tucking a piece of hair out my face.

"How did I ever get so lucky?" He asks his hand now resting on my cheek, I smile at him as his eyes move from my eyes to my lips, I knew exactly what he was thinking.

He slowly starts to lean in making sure I wasn't gonna pull away, I actually did the opposite and also began to lean in until our lips touched. Instantly my face just erupted in sparks, million times more than I've felt since I found him. He pulls me closer deepening the the kiss as he went, I was lost in the moment that I didn't hear the door knocking.

"Come back later!" Grayson shouts before his lips are quickly on mine again, the door knocks saying it couldn't wait "It can wait if I say so!" He shouts about to lean in to the kiss again but I stop him, once again the door knocks.

"It seems rather important" I smile taking my hand to wipe the lipstick from his lips, he growls a little walking towards the door.

I just turn sorting things out in the room, Grayson remained at the door talking with the guy. I go over the booklet of things I need to do before the coronation, the next thing was learn how to walk like a queen. How do queens walk? The sound of the door closing makes me turn, Grayson was making his way over.

"Now where were we?" He asks smiling but I place my hand on his chest stopping him.

"You were about to teach me how a queen walks" I smile innocently, he looks at me saying really "yes, if you ever want what just happened to happen again, I'd teach me" I say crossing my arms, he sighs but agrees telling to get a pair of heels.

I do as I'm told and run over to the heels I will wear with my dress, he stood one side of the room just smiling. Once the heels were on I stand beside him, he looks at me but stands in front of me.

"Firstly, you do not slouch, you must stand up tall with your back straight" he starts moving me to stand up straight "keep your head up looking straight in front of you, now walk with grace to that side of the room" he tells me pointing to the other side of the room where I just was.

I start to slowly make my way to the other side of the room, making sure I didn't slouch or let my head go down and be graceful as I could.

"Now turn and walk back to me" he says crossing his arms watching me, I do as I'm told until I stood in front of him, I'm immediately grabbed and pinned against the wall "what? You told me I had to teach you how to walk like a queen, lesson dismissed" he smirks before crashing his lips onto mine, I mean that is what I said.

The door knocks Grayson walking in, he smiles turning to me where he just looks me up at down smiling.

"You get more beautiful every time I see you, I do not know how it's possible but you do" he smiles coming to a stop in front of me, Daisy smiles saying she'll see me out there "how are you feeling my love?" He asks once the door closes, I actually haven't thought about that yet.

"This week I've been so busy that I haven't had time to really think about the coronation, but also because I haven't had time to think about anything but the coronation if that makes any sense" I start to explain where he just smiles "but now it's getting closer and I don't need to help plan everything, I'm getting nervous like what if I fall? Or the crown falls? Or" I start to ramble but a kiss being placed on my lips stops me, Grayson pulls away placing his forehead on mine.

"None of that is going to happen my love, I will be with you the whole time, you are going to do so great just like you did before" he smiles rubbing my arms, I smile nodding calming myself down.

"Now please welcome my mate, Clara Jacobs" he says which my cue, I take a deep breath before making my way in.

My eyes didn't leave Grayson's as I walk down the long path, lights from cameras went off as I went. Eventually I make it to the bottom of the two steps Grayson was stood on top off, he smiles reaching behind him to take my crown. A little cushion is placed on the steps, I knell with my knee placed on the cushion and my head down.

"I, King Grayson Bennett, crown you Clara Jacobs, as queen and mate to the king" Grayson says in a powerful voice before carefully placing the crown on my head.

I stand up straight looking at him, where his eyes just held pride. He holds his hand out which I take, my other holding my dress up as I walk up the steps to stand beside him. We both turn facing the crowd who was cheering and taking photos, we both look at each other as he leans in placing a kiss on my lips. The crowd gets louder and the sounds of more cameras fill the air, causing me to smile against his lips him also doing the same.

In this moment I was incredibly happy, unknowing of the many struggles that lay ahead.

It's the morning after my coronation, also being my first day or duties as queen, let's just say I'm so nervous. Last night Mason went over what we'll be doing today, I have to go to an orphanage to see all the children and speak to the people that run it. When he told me I had to speak to people, the little nervous voice started to talk into my ear. But I soon remembered that I'm now queen and just have to suck it up, this is what I was born to do so I have to do it.

I was just getting ready for the day, I managed to find a few outfits that would cover my neck. It's a bit of an inconvenience but until I'm marked it's what I have to do, I don't know when I'm going to be ready to get marked but I hope it's soon. I was slipping my shoes on when the door knocks and in walks Grayson, he smiles at me closing the door behind him.

"Good morning my love" he smiles walking over placing a kiss on my head "I wish I could accompany you on your duties today, but an important meeting with some important people has come up" he explains as I stand up from the bed, I just smile shaking my head saying it was fine.

Don't get me wrong it would make me feel so much better if he could come, but it's kind of unrealistic and unfair for me to just expect him to always be by my side. I'm a big girl I can handle myself.

"You are going to do so well my love, you have Mason accompanying you as he always will be, you will have your four guards with you and Daisy" he smiles I didn't know I would have guards, but then that would make sense as I am queen so.

"Daisy's coming?" I ask quite surprised but happy, I've only had one proper encounter with Mason, but me and Daisy are becoming close friends I won't feel as nervous with her there.

"Yes, we thought having someone you are comfortable with be a part of your team would benefit you, Daisy was the obvious choice" he smiles shrugging his shoulders as though it was nothing, I thank him wrapping my arms around him.

He stood there shocked for a second but immediately his arms were around me holding me tightly.

"Finally! How long has it took you to have a little more contact with mate?!" My wolf asks annoyed in my head, this is the first time she's really spoke since we came here "that's because the first couple of days after you find your mate, I try start to make a few connections with mates wolf, which sidenote would be so much easier if we were marked!" She exclaims in my head, whoa someone got out of bed on the wrong side this morning.

"You and I both know that's not possible" she says pretty annoyed, I just block her out snapping back to reality still engulfed in a hug by Gray.

"How I wish I could stay in this position forever" he says tightening his arms around me, it was as though we were fit for each other.

"Don't tell me I have to explain all that to you"my wolf sighs in my head, I once again block her out ignoring her just as the door begins to knock.

Grayson sighs slowly pulling away sending me a sad smile, before we could speak the door knocks again. He holds his arm up with a smile that I take, he begins to lead me out the room where who looked like a butler stood. He bows his head at us before leading us down the hall, we soon reach the stairs where at the bottom stood a bunch of people. Mason, Daisy and a few other men stood on one side, while Josh and a few other people stood on the other.

Once we make it to the bottom Grayson turns to me smiling , he places his hands on my shoulders with a sigh.

"This is where we must part ways for a few hours, your guards will be by your side the entire day protecting you" he smiles but I could tell he didn't want to move away from me, I didn't want him to move either, he leans closer to me "I'll see you just before dinner, but you will me playing on my mind all day" he whispers with a smile, I smile back where he places a kiss on my lips.

We slowly begin to pull off heading out the gates, one of my guards cars were in front of us while the other behind.

"I was so happy when Josh told me what Grayson asked me to do, normally I'm just waiting in the castle for Josh to come back but now I'm doing something, with my best friend" Daisy smiles beside me, I look over smiling too.

"It made me feel happy too when Grayson told me, having someone I'm close to be by my side when working will be great" I reply with a smile, let's hope I can pull it together and do my job, for Grayson.

"Welcome your majesty" he smiles bowing his head, we shake hands where I say hello " I'm Mike Falcon, these two are Maria and Jackson" he smiles walking backwards a little where two children stood.

"These are for you" Maria smiles handing me a bunch of flowers, I thank her which she replies with a little curtsy. Jackson bows his head at me with a smile.

"Come this way your majesty" Mr Falcon smiles leading me into the building, I thank him following him in where more children stood.

Let the show begin.

The whole day went so quickly, I went to four other places after the orphanage. The only time I sat down was in the car, I don't think I've spoken to that many people in one day ever. Daisy's been great though, throughout the whole day she was standing on the sidelines sending me encouraging looks.

We soon were pulling up at the castle, where I see Grayson walking into the building but soon turns clocking the car. He smiles waiting at the top of the stairs for me, it was great to see him again I didn't actually realise how much I missed him until now, I haven't had much time to think about anything else really.

"Same time tomorrow, your majesty" Mason smiles from the front, I send him a little smile but nod, I guess I'm gonna have to start getting used to having no free time.

As the car stops Grayson opens my door, he holds his hand out to me smiling. I take his hand getting out the car, as usual he holds his arm out which I take. We begin to make our way into the castle, I'm taken into a room I've never been in before but looked like an office. As soon as the door closes I'm wrapped in a tight hug, I immediately wrap my arms around him just loving being this close.

"You do not know how great it is to have you back in my arms again, you were all I thought about today" he says placing his face in my neck "how was your day?" He asks moving slightly so he could see my face.

"Honestly, I've never felt this exhausted in all my life" I smile looking down at him "it's lucky makeup was invented" I joke but he looks up at my face, it was as though he was studying it.

"You are beautiful with or without makeup" he says looking me in the eyes "I will tell Mason he must cut some of the workload down" he suggests but I immediately shake my head.

"No it's okay it's my job now, I'm used to having to work a lot and run on basically zero sleep, I'll be alright" I shrug but he tenses letting out a quiet growl.

Before I could question him the door begins to knock, the person on the other end tells us dinner was ready. Grayson sighs pulling me to walk out the door, I just follow behind until we arrive in the dining hall. He leads me over to a chair pulling it out for me, I smile thanking him taking my seat. He sits beside me as a bunch of people walk in, food is placed in front of me which once again I hadn't a clue what it was.

"It may look strange but it's actually very nice" Grayson smiles knowing exactly what I was thinking "here" he says taking a piece of my food into his fork holding it up.

I open my mouth taking it off the fork and he was right, this food tasted incredible! How do people cook things like this? I mean I probably could cook like a semi okay pizza, not homemade but frozen. These people just work wonders, I wonder who teaches them to cook or maybe they taught themselves, I have so many questions!

"I thought you were going to think aloud" Grayson says snapping me out my thoughts, I smile looking over at him then down at the food.

"Where do you find these amazing cooks?" I ask still looking amazed at the food in front of me, it tasted like chicken but it wasn't chicken!

His reply was just a laugh also eating, we spoke about our days and made other small talk. After dinner we went up to my room and spoke even more, I loved talking with him I could actually only speak to him for a day. I got changed into comfy clothes where he sat on the bed, I send him a smile sitting next to him.

"Again, I don't think I've never been this tired before" I sigh leaning my head on his shoulder, he moves so my head was on his chest with his arm around me.

"Your days will be like this for the first few weeks, it slows down after that" he says while I feel my eyes begin to close "what did you mean back in my office? You said you are used to working a lot on no sleep" he asks me as I feel myself going into a sleep daze.

"The Alpha would force the people who weren't born in his pack to do most of the work, while the people who's families were there for years did nothing" I say not having a filter as I was that tired "he really didn't like me so I got the hardest jobs, there were times I'd have to go days with virtually no sleep" I say my eyes fully closed, it wouldn't be long until I was fully asleep.

Gray let's out a low growl, which causes my eyes to open for a second but soon drop close snuggling into this chest.

"You should have told him that you needed a break" he tells me which was something Grace would tell me to do.

"I would never do that, especially after what he did to me the first time I...I tried" I say, once the sentence was finished I drift to sleep.

Melissa remained in her room after shouting at Cyrus, she knew what kind of reception she would get if she were to walk out now. She didn't know how she got the courage to talk back to him like that, but as soon as she saw her daughter on that tv, her mother instincts kicked in and the need to protect her daughter at all costs were just at the forefront of her mind.

Wes walks into the bedroom locking the door behind him, he even went as far to put the chest of draws in front of the door, he knew what would happen to his mate if Cyrus was to enter the room. Melissa doesn't look up from the bed as he did this, she knew how badly she had messed up.

"He's mad, I don't think I've saw him this mad since we actually had Clara" Wes says staring at the door but turns to look at Melissa "now I'm not saying you went around the situation the right way but, I one hundred percent agree with what you said back there" he tells her which immediately makes Melissa well up again.

"That's our daughter Wes, I'm not gonna let him worm is way back into her life after forcing her and Kyle away from us" she cries still sat on the bed, Wes walks over holding her hands in his.

"That's why you're gonna write her a letter, if someone writes to the royals they have to read it and reply" he tells her, she looks up shaking her head at him.

"She won't want anything to do with us Wes, your brother made damn sure of that" she cries as painful as it was to think like that, she knew it was true.

"You will word it in a way that makes her see it different, it's Clara, she was always so forgiving and gave everyone a fair chance, just write her a letter" he says placing his head on hers.

Melissa eventually nods causing Wes to get up and rummage through a draw, he pulls out a bunch of paper and pens passing them to his mate.

"You write the letter and I will send it when Cyrus goes to sleep" he smiles moving the chest of draws and leaving the room.

Melissa spends a few minutes staring at the paper in front of her, with a sigh she begins to write to her long lost daughter, the queen.

This week has had to be the most hectic in my life, now I know I've said that a lot since I arrive her but this one, well it hit a peak. Mason has been sending me here, there and everywhere. He keeps telling me it's to get me out there and seen, the people need to know I'm the type of person who will go into the community.

Thankfully, it was Sunday a day I can get off, in no way did that mean I was getting a lay in. Today Kyle and Emma were visiting, I haven't saw them in nearly three weeks. It feels like a lifetime since I got to give Kyle a hug, a hug I've definitely needed.

"Welcome to my humble abode" I smile pointing up at the castle behind us, Emma laughs saying humble "it's hard to be humble when you live here" I joke looking at both of them.

Emma was smiling while Kyle, he was just staring at me. I take both of their hands pulling them up the stairs, they needed an official house tour, or maybe castle.

We were taking a walk through the amazing ballroom, when Emma says she needs the bathroom. I look around and clock a butler polishing some expensive looking artefact.

"Excuse me, would you mind showing my friend where the bathroom is?" I ask nicely, through all the work I've done I've got so much better at talking to people! Not everyone through.

"Of course ma'am, right this way" he says with a bow of the head towards me, Emma smiles following the man out leaving me and Kyle alone.

"Alright spill the beans" I say crossing my arms, he just sends me a confused look "Kyle, you're my older brother I know you better than you know yourself, I know somethings off that you didn't want to say in front of Emma"

"I've missed you so much Clara, it's the longest we've been apart and I wasn't even able to communicate with you" he says with a sigh, the longest we've been apart were a few days before this "I've been so worried of how you'll be doing here, but then I saw you standing on top of the stairs outside and you looked so happy and at ease, I felt like you didn't" he says but pauses, I knew where he was going with this though.

The doors open and in Emma walks, she wraps her arms around us both causing us to laugh. She laughed as she pulled away but gasps bowing her head, Kyle also does the same as I turn to see Grayson walking over.

"Hello sir" Kyle says bowing his head, Grayson comes to a stop beside me smiling at the two.

"You are Clara's older brother which makes you her family, she is my family which makes her family also my family, my family do not have to bow or call me sir" he smiles holding his hand out, whoa he said family a lot in that sentence, Kyle smiles shaking his hand "now I don't know about you but I'm growing rather hungry, will you be joining us for dinner?" Grayson asks the two, they grow even more shocked looking at each other.

"We would love to, but it's a such short notice we don't want to be an inconvenience" Emma smiles at him, I could tell how badly she actually wanted to say yes.

"Trust me the cooks here are amazing, they probably already know you're staying for dinner and have made you some" I laugh but it was probably true, I don't have a clue how they do it.

They both smile accepting the offer, before Grayson leads us all to the dinning hall. Dinner was going amazing and the cooks somehow knew Kyle and Emma were here, honestly how?!

"So what is the dynamic of the pack you reside at?" Grayson asks Kyle, okay that's a kind of odd question and one even I wouldn't know how to answer.

"It's um different I guess, the alpha likes order and you know things to be done right" Kyle answers but kept looking at me and Emma for help, I didn't know how to help him answer the question.

"The pack is just the pack, now anyway um what crazy weather we've been having" I say quickly having to change the subject, Emma begins to ramble about the weather successfully derailing the conversation.

I felt Grayson's eyes burning holes in the side of my head, for the rest of the dinner I never turned to talk to him.

I was sat awake staring at the ceiling, I managed a few nights to go sleep but I've gone back to not being about to. It was great seeing Kyle and Emma today, I felt like the old me was starting to come back. My thoughts are cut short by Grayson opening the door, he peeps his head in shocked to see me awake.

"I didn't know you would be awake now" he says closing the door behind him, I sigh putting my heed against the head board.

"Neither did I" I smile looking out the window, I feel the bed dip beside me an arm pulling me closer to him, I look down at his hand to see it all bruised and beaten up "what happened to your hand?" I ask taking a hold of it to look it over, when he doesn't answer I look up at his face where he had a few cuts on his face.

"I got into an altercation with a man who thought he could disrespected my family" he says looking straight ahead his eyes going a shade darker, I place my hand on his face where the cuts were.

"I know you're king and you have to do stuff like that, but please be careful" I say looking at him, he smiles placing a kiss on my head "earlier at dinner you asked Kyle about the pack, why?" I ask still looking up at him, he shakes his head.

"I was just making conversation" he replies but I really didn't believe him "it was our first time meeting, I was trying to get more information about him" he shrugs, I smile placing my head on his chest feeling my eyes begin to close.

"I know why I've been able to go sleep easily these last few nights, it's because you're here" I sigh my eyes still closing, he slides down further so we were both laying down, in seconds I was asleep.

few hours prior

Grayson was sat in his office filling some paperwork out, he wanted to get all the paperwork done so he'd have more time to spend with Clara. He finishes the last of his paperwork when the door begins to knock, he places his pen down telling the person they can come in.

"You wanted to see me sir" Mason said bowing his head, Grayson wanted a word with him about Clara.

He heard her telling her brother how she feels about this place, he never knew she didn't have time to have breakfast or even get a break. That was all down to Mason.

"It's about Clara and how much work you are arranging for her each day, she isn't able to have many breaks or days off" Grayson says sitting up in his chair, Mason nods not seeing anything wrong with that.

"She's queen sir, she has responsibilities that she must keep too, it may be hard but it comes with the job title" he shrugs still not getting it, Grayson sighs looking at his desk trying to remain calm.

"She never asked to have this title it has been forced upon her, I have looked at the schedule she has been keeping to and it is utterly ridiculous, you have her doing nearly twenty appearances a day on opposite sides of town" Grayson says looking at the piece of paper with all her tasks on "no one that I know of has ever done that many a day, why would you force my mate to do all those?" He asks Mason who still didn't seem to get it.

"She has a lot of prove sir" he says straight faced, Grayson gives the man a look saying to elaborate "I've read the documents on her she was a rouge! She was a part of the lowest group of wolfs in the world! She needs to prove that she is up to the task of being queen! And if not she'll break and you'll have to get rid of her and find someone better" Mason exclaims finally loosing his cool, Grayson sighs placing the paper on the desk walking over to Mason.

"You have just signed your own death warrant, no one disrespects my mate" he growls looking in Mason eyes before lunging at him.

Grayson begins ripping Mason to shreds, literally.
