My 5 PM delivery as a parttime senior delivery agent involved taking a large flower bouquet to a certain guest down the pack street where Alphas and high ranking werewolves lodge each time they wanted to meet with people.

It was a notorious, yet popular luxury place.

Careless about the name on it, which just read “Debby.” I went straight to the address.

On reaching, I knocked on the door, but no one answered. I used the doorbell, but no one was still there.

I had to check the door to see if it was open, but it wasn't. I couldn't leave the item by her door because it was unprofessional, so I decided to check the window, if I would see anyone.

I checked the first, the second and in the third, I was shocked to see my Alpha, Alpha Gerald, having sex with Debby Langley, his ex.

“Oh my God!”

It finally rang in my head, that this was what was going on behind my back. The Debby in question was the ex of my Alpha, the one who dumped him five years ago because he had nothing. She came back a few months ago and they had always been together since then.

Whenever I wanted to question him about it, he told me to quit being paranoid that it was just work.

Stepping back with my hands on my mouth, I tripped and fell to the ground, which caused a loud noise and probably alerted them because shortly after, as I tried standing, Gerald was already outside the house.

“Who's there?!” I heard his raging voice say. Just then, he entered the backyard and saw me. He was startled at first, disbelief as to how I got there, but quickly returned to a cold demeanor.

“What the hell are you doing here?!” He asked me, this time, sounding fiercer than he did when he didn’t know who was there.

I wanted to question him based on what I just saw, but he was quicker to do it.

“What the hell are you doing here??” He asked again. “Are you spying on me now??”

“No, it's nothing like that.”

“Then why are you behind the house, interrupting my business with Debby?” He asked me.

“Business? Is that what you call business, because I clearly saw what you were doing there.” I said back at him, also growing furious because he was an Alpha in the pack and I was just an omega.

He stared at me, with eyes filled with pride and arrogance, to show he didn't feel bad for what he did in any way.

At this point, I couldn't take it anymore, the pressure of everything I've had to suffer this his lost love got back began to sink on me and when I couldn't hold the tears anymore, I ran out of the scene, straight to the house.

“It's time you ended this suffering.” My wolf told me. “It's time you stopped allowing that unworthy Alpha to treat you like you are nothing.”

With that, I got the courage I needed to post on our family's group chat. I told them I was calling off the mating ceremony, which was going to be the final binding process between Alpha Gerald and I.

Immediately I did, my phone began buzzing with random texts and calls.

I got it from my friends, Alpha Gerald’s friends, Alpha Gerald himselfwho has never called me randomly, no matter what situation I was in. Of all these people, my aunty called the most.

When she saw I wasn't answering the phone, she sent a long text to me, explaining why I was making a mistake.

[I didn't train you to be a dumb woman, Kassy. I raised you up to be better. We are omega's, more or less the least on the chain and it is an unfathomable privilege to be picked by an Alpha and you want to throw this away because of your ego?! You better not make that mistake, else I will kill you with my bare hands.]

She had been that way, insufferable since the death of my father, her brother. She never really liked him, claiming he was a feeble man and she would choose a better brother if she could rewrite her history.

She saw me as a chance to get the future she never had. When I was tasked to deliver a good to the Alpha five years ago and met him in a messed up position, suffering because Debby broke his heart. I helped take care of him throughout the night and when she found out, she told me to go back, be there for him until he fell for me.

I was naive back then and very much an “obedient” daughter, so I did. He was kind and sweet and we fell in love. Everything was good until fate brought Debby back into his life.

After over 4 years together, I thought he would have completely let go and given his all toe, bit as soon as she got back, it was like a missing part of him had been restored and he began treating me like a slave, while she got all the good treatment and anytime I wanted to point it out, he would make it seem like I was being jealous for no reason.

He was particularly skilled at provoking me into anger in front of others, watching me break down and cry, furiously questioning him, while he pretended to be the understanding one, generously offering forgiveness.

Everyone thought I was just an unreasonable, crazy woman.

After work that night, I went back home. One would think that I would either be at home as a housewife, or work in a big firm because my mate was an Alpha, but it wasn't so.

I had this job as a delivery woman before he met me and promised to find me a better one or better still, take care of me if I quit.

I did as he instructed and quitted the job, becoming a house mate for him. He always took good care of me, but now that Debby was back and he totally abandoned me, I had no other choice than to go pick up the old job.

When I got back home, I quickly set up the table. It was our fifth anniversary, so I wanted to make it special as usual. I didn't want what I saw earlier to spoil the mood. Deep down, I wanted to throw it all away and focus on the night's fortune.

When I was done, I heard a knock on the door and it was Gerald. My mate usually bought ball gowns and birkin bags on our anniversaries and I never got tired of receiving them. My reason for expecting one this time.

Behold, there he was with the pink bag containing the pink dress.

“Oh my!” I said, jumping already and hugging him tight. “I knew you'd get it for me.

When I wanted to take the bag, he held it back hard, looking confused and irritated at me. “What the hell is wrong with you?” He asked. “This isn't for you, but for Debby.” He said to me, Just then, Debby surfaced from behind him and I was hit with so much shock and shame.

“Get out of the way, so we can enter the house.” He said to me with a foul tone. Without giving me time to move away, he shoved me to the other side and entered with Debby.

“Take the dress and try it on in my room. I can't wait to see how you look in it.” He told Debby as he handed the dress over to her.

She took it happily and went straight upstairs.

My Alpha acted like I wasn't there at all. He took his phone out and began fiddling.

I had so much to say, but nothing felt right at that point. It was like anything I would say was going to come out the wrong way, or would simply not be enough to express how I was feeling.

I wanted to find the best way to say what was in my mind and when I finally did….. “How do I look?” Debby came down saying.

She looked so pretty, I could already picture myself on that dress.

“You look beautiful, like a true Beta.” He said to her with his 32 teeths out due to excess grinning.

“Thank you Alpha Gerald.” She replied to him before turning to me with her fake smile. “How do I look, Kassy?” She asked me.

I was too overwhelmed to speak or even more. When I stayed quiet until the next minute, Gerald snapped at once. “Come on! Don't tell me you're jealous and bitter already.” He said to me, rudely.

“Debby has helped my company achieve so much and I am doing it because she deserves it.” He added.

“Today is our anniversary and you always come home with something like this.” I replied to him.

It then dawned on him what today was and I could sense him rethinking. “We are 5 years old today?” He asked.

“We are. But you'd rather spend time with Debby and buy her things than me.” I told him. “Do not mention Debby here. I am the one you're talking to.” He yelled at me to shut me up.

“It's alright Alpha.” She said to him, holding his chest and caressing him softly as though she was the good one. “We all know Kassy here doesn't like me. She thinks I'm the enemy, when I'm not. Why don't I leave you too before I make things worse.” She said, sounding all sympathetic or like she was the victim.

“You are not going anywhere. I brought you here so you could have dinner with me and that is what you will do. “ He said to her.

She smiled softly as she stood by his side.

“Let's go to eat.” He said next as he held her hands and walked away towards the dining.

At this point, I could not believe what was happening before me. I sneaked up to dining’s door to watch them eat and I could see them talking about random things and feeding themselves. No part of their conversation said business.

I could not interfere because if I did, he would just find a way to make me look wrong.

The more I watched them eat the anniversary food that was meant for me and the Alpha, the angrier I became. I really thought I was the love of his life.

I remember how miserable he was when she dumped him. He would go a week without bathing or even eating anything. He was growing lean and the doctors even began complaining that he was killing himself slowly.

I brought back light into his life and took care of him when he had no one and this was his way of saying thank you? Going back to the woman that tossed him away like trash.

It dawned on me what the signs meant. The owner of his heart had returned and there was nothing I could not to stop that.

One thing was certain, I was done taking it and I had to leave.

I just wish I had known earlier, or built this courage sooner. I would not have wasted five years of my life, nurturing something that was never mine.

I went back upstairs to the room and shut the door, dropping my whole weight on the bed as though I was falling from a story building. At this point, I couldn't hold the tears anymore. I closed my eyes and felt the bitter tears as they rolled down my cold cheeks.

I knew I had to leave because I couldn't take it anymore. I called a friend, one who stayed at Jubilee pack. I wanted to ask if I could stay with her for a while, but she didn't pick up the phone.

Soon, she sent a text; [I know why you're calling. You want a place to stay and I will not let you stay with me. I have seen all the drama going on between you and your Alpha on the internet and I think you deserve it. I warned you that that guy was a no good piece of trash, but you didn't listen. Now, you're paying for it.]

As I read this text, I could only cry harder because it was true. She warned me against him, but because of the pressure from my aunty, I had no other choice.

She preached about the good life we could live if I agreed to be his mate so much that I started to believe it and look where it landed me.

There was nowhere to go now, except my aunty's house. Even if I knew she would not be happy to see me, That was the only option.

The next morning, I woke up and turned to the other side of the bed, looking if I would see my mate laying there to at least soften my heart, but he wasn't.

The bed was still as tidy as it was before I slept, meaning he never came up stairs. I quickly went to the dining room and it was a mess. All the dirty plates were left there after eating.

I had to pack them up because it was a disgusting sight. As I did, I picked up Debby's panties, which were laying on the table. I knew she probably forgot it or left it there for me to see on purpose. She never shied off any chance to show she was the better person. That was an obvious proof that they did more than just eat here.

I totally lost it as I felt overwhelmed. The disrespect was now getting so much that he wasn't hiding it anymore.

I had to still maintain my calmness. I waited until evening for him to return, so I would tell him it was over and I wasn't continuing with the mating ceremony to officially become his mate.

He didn't come back home however. I put calls through multiple times and he didn't answer.

When I couldn't wait again, I had to pack my things myself and go back home, to my aunt's place. I knew what she said about me not leaving him, but I was sure that when I explained my full story, my predicament to her, she would understand and even console me.

Things were however different when I got there. When I knocked on the door, Shona opened and gave a heavy sigh when she saw it was me.

“Please let me in.” I asked politely, but she turned the other way, blocking the entrance even worse.

“Why won't you let me in?” I asked. I was expecting to hear an answer, but I heard right from the inside. “Who is there?!” My aunty asked.

“It's me, Aunty.” Before I could complete the word, it was cut short by Shona. “It's this useless Kassy.” She said,

I could hear trembles as my aunty ran out of the house as soon as she heard it was me. When she came out, she looked around and didn't see what she was expecting. Turns out, she didn't come out for me.

“Where is he?” she asked me. I also looked around, confused for a while.

“Who?”

“The Alpha, dummy!”

“I didn't come with him.” I told her. “You know how things are between us aunty. I know you're feeling angry that I called off the mating ceremony, but I have my reasons and if you'll just hear me….” I didn't finish talking when I heard a slap swoosh through my face.

“How can you be so petty and foolish at the same time?” She asked me.

I was still trying to understand why she did that, when she landed another one of my cheeks, this one harder than the first.

“Alpha Gerald came here earlier today to report what you have been doing to him. Being a violent mate and harassing the female pack members he works with? Nagging him every night and day, denying him peace of mind and making his home a living hell? Is that how I raised you?!” She yelled at me.

Gerald had stopped by and downloaded all the lies on his head to my aunty and she obviously believed him. At this point, there was nothing that I was going to say, which would make sense.

“How can you play with such opportunities that would change our lives for good. We are nothing but omegas, the least on the scale and can only level up with the Alpha by our side. Why don't you understand this?”

“Heyy, bring all her stuff outside. She's not staying here. You either go back to your mate or you sleep on the street.” She added before leaving for inside.

In no time, my things were thrown outside. The rain soaked my and my belongings for over an hour before Gerald finally pulled up in his Jeep.

As much as I was not happy with him, I needed that shelter now.

“I hope you have regained your wisdom.” He said as he pushed me into the car.

“You must publicly apologize for all this mess you have caused and promise to be peaceful again if you remain my Luna.” He said to me as he drove off.

I remained quiet, too cold to say anything. He drove straight to the Pack's gala ball, where there was obviously a party. “This is a very important ball and I want you to be my escort.”

I was shocked at this and excited too. He actually wanted to go out with me. That hadn't happened in a while.

“Go home and change up. I can't have you looking like this by my side.” He said rudely. I had to obey his plea. On my way out, I saw Debby entering the scene. I wondered how she was going to get in when it was an “enter as a couple” event.

In no time, I found myself in one of my best dresses and returned to the ball, but the door was closed.

“Let me in, I am with the Alpha.” I told the guard. “I am sorry ma'am. The order was to lock the door immediately after 10pm.

I was surprised. “Who gave such orders?” I asked. “Alpha Gerald ma'am. Right after he went inside with Beta Debby.”

I could not believe what I just heard. Once again, he made a fool out of me.

If only my aunty could see how I was treated, locked outside, while my Alpha and his ex enjoyed themselves in the ball, which I was supposed to be by his side, maybe she would have gotten a different perception of things, but she wasn't here.

I sat outside, under a shade, trying to reach my Alpha, but he never answered, no matter how hard the phone rang.

“Pick up already!” I yelled one of the times as I called, but he was still answering.

Just as if the weather was against me too, it started raining heavily and the shade wasn't much or a use because the water could sip through. I had to put my phone back in my bag, so the water would not spoil it.

It rained the whole night and I stood at that corner for all that time, shivering from the cold wind that accompanied the rain.

Towards dawn, when the rain finally stopped, I felt my phone buzzing and I took it out.

“What the hell is wrong with you? Why would you give me twenty missed calls?” Alpha Gerald said to me.

“You asked me to change up and come meet you. When I did, you were already inside and locked the door. What do you expect me to do?” I replied to him.

“Well, I'd you were just a little less sluggish, you would have reached in time. Hold on a little while, we will be done soon.” He said, abruptly ending the call.

I waited till 5 AM, that was when the doors were finally open. I was wet, my dress was destroyed by the rain.

“Why do you look so damp?” Gerald said to me, holding Debby's hands as both left the ball together.

They both looked embarrassed to have me around like that.

“I am sorry, I couldn't find a proper shade during the rain.” I apologized to him, despite how heavy my heart was for him.

“Please, you'll have to walk in front.” He told me. “I don't want people to think you're walking with me. You are so embarrassing to us.” Gerald told me.

I was cold and could do anything to change at that point.

“Why don't we use the car?” I suggested.

“I don't want to use the car. I want to spend more time with you.” Debby told my Alpha.

He didn't even rethink, when he obliged to not using the car. This was obviously going to increase our time on the road by over ten times. Even if the estate was close, a car would be very much faster.

As Alpha Gerald instructed, I walked a few meters before they finally followed me. Looking back, I could see them still holding hands and chatting. I was too far to comprehend what they were talking about, but it sure got me worried.

We walked half a mile, when a jeep pulled up by our side and rogues jumped out.

There were up to six and they surrounded us. Men in black.

It was going to be a life and death struggle here. The hate in their eyes showed that they weren't here to mess around. Without enough room to breathe, they attacked us. Gerald, as an Alpha was able to fight his way against the ones that came for him.

Debby could take one, but when the next one came, he mounted upon her, causing her to scream for help.

On my side, I could barely do anything. I was already too sick from the cold, so I tried fighting one.

He overpowered me and scratched me deep in my belly.

I fell to the ground, also asking for help.

When Alpha Gerald fought him off, he went straight to Debby, who was already having her with the rogue over her and helped her fight it.

They saw how strong Gerald was and decided to back out, entering their jeep and driving away.

“Are you okay?” I could hear him ask Debby.

“I am fine.” She replied.

“You cannot be sure. I have to take you to the hospital.” He called for his driver immediately, the car arrived within five minutes and he aided her in. I was waiting patiently on the ground, hoping he would come for me too but he didn't.

The door of the car was shut, they drove past me, both of them heading for the hospital.

“Alpha Gerald.” I called out with my weak voice, but he was already far gone. Kind of like he forgot I was there.

My blood had spewed all over the concrete pathway and I felt myself losing my breath. Not until some of those who attended the event and were strolling back home too ran to me and helped me up.

Everywhere became foggy and before I knew it, it was dark. Even though it's morning, it hasn't dawn yet.

The bright light from the window woke me up and I found myself on a bay, which only meant I was in the hospital.

“You were brought in by a group of people who said they saw you get attacked by some rogues. You lost a lot of blood, thank the moon goddess you're still alive.” The doctor said to me,

“How long have I been out?” I asked

“One week.” She replied.

One week! That was a lot. “Did anyone come visit me?” I asked again.

“Sadly, no one.” She told me. It was saddening that I stayed for a week in the hospital, but my mate didn't come visit me, even after leaving me for death on the street. The funniest thing was that this was the pack hospital. The same hospital he brought Debby to. He didn't even care to check up on me.

The doctor wanted to make sure I was completely healed before discharging me, so she insisted I stay there for a day to observe my situation.

At that time, Gerald didn't come visiting. Even once!

He didn't even call or text me until I was out. He didn't mindlink.

After a day, I went back to the estate and headed straight to the room to confront him, but I heard noises coming from the room, the door was slightly ajar. I was eager to know what's going on.

So I pushed the door open.

To my greatest shock, Alpha Gerald and Debby were banging on the bed, our bed stark naked.

I froze on the spot.

They were so much in the act, moaning and groaning that they couldn't detect my presence. Even their wolves were so immersed that they couldn't sense anything.

They didn't hear my gasp. I'd pulled my hand over my mouth. I couldn't watch this, so I quietly went back out, still stuck with shock. I fell to my knees outside. I couldn't tell how long I waited but I did. Not for them, I was so shocked that my knees grew so weak and my legs forgot how to work.

They laid together upon climax, starting a conversation, so I eavesdropped.

“I wish she dies in that hospital.” Debby said. “I wish the same.” Gerald replied to her.

I noticed here that they were talking about me, an idea came to mind. I pulled my phone from my back. I turned on my camera and began to video them discreetly.

“I hope they didn't hurt you. I strictly told them to take it easy on you and me, that Kassy is the main target. I'm sad they didn't do exactly as I asked, if they could, they would have certainly killed her.” She said,

I gasped.

What the hell!

Did she hire these men for me? Has it gone to that? On top of the Alpha, who's my mate?

“Why didn't they kill her? They gave her the chance to be taken to the hospital.” Gerald cut in.

“Their leader said he got a hint that the pack patrol team was about returning back to their unit and they couldn't waste any time.”

Now, it was obviously clear to me that the attack was staged, and that was why they weren't hurt.

“If those stupid passersby didn't interfere, she would have died on that road.” Debby said with heavy disgust, like my life means nothing.

When I had videoed enough, having full evidence of them talking about a planned murder, alongside cheating on me, something that could put Gerald and Debby away for a long time, I forwarded it to the Pack's general group and posted it on all my social media platforms.

I was quick enough to pack my little belongings and leave the estate immediately before they got out of bed. I headed straight to the train station, there were fewer procedures here than at the airport.

Posting that was the perfect revenge for them.

I reached the train station and boarded it. Then I resorted to checking my posts, the hundreds of thousands of views got me thrilled. Even on the train, there was no single noise. It was suspected that even those here were watching the video.

Then it was time for my next action–

I was going to type an official letter of rejection.

[I, Kassy Wildmore, reject you, Alpha Gerald as my mate. Henceforth, our bond and connection ceases to exist and I hope to never relate with you again. I hope you and Debby get what you deserve for cheating on me and even trying to kill me.]

I sent it, just as I sent the video, then blocked everyone that would contact me through the cell.

I moved a step further to forcefully block all mindlink connections from anyone who knew me. The Alpha, Debby, my aunty and her child, all those who contributed to my sorrows.

For once after a long life of pain and misery, I could finally lay back and relax as the train fired to Melbourne Pack. I had a long time classmate, who worked there, Joyce.

I had contacted her that I needed a place to stay and she agreed she would provide a place for me and even help me find a job.

In no time, when I got there, she helped me apply as a cook and laundry assistant in their pack estate and I was accepted.

“You did it girl. I knew you had it in you.” Joyce congratulated me when I got it. Initially, I was scared because over a thousand people applied. I wondered what made me get the job, over others, who were more or less, indigenous to the pack.

“How are the people in this pack?” I asked Joyce very seriously because I didn't want to be taken off guard by behaviours I didn't expect.

“Everyone is cool, well, except the rude Alpha, Rudolf Von.” She told me.

The name sent shivers across my spine. “Haven't I heard that name before?” I asked rhetorically, but Joyce was still quick to answer.

“He is the one that ordered a one thousand wolf raid on the silver pack when they didn't want to pay you their debt.” She said,

I quickly remembered. The silver pack was the strongest in the world, until he humbled them with that raid and started commanding unweaving fear and respect.

“No matter what you do, do not cross his path or let him cross yours. If it happens, do not look into his eyes, that will be your worst mistake.” She explained the more, building up fear in my body.

With that, I resumed work, ready to do everything right and avoid the monster in Alpha form.

On reaching our work unit, I was instructed to fold the sheets.

I didn't fold for an hour, when the manager asked me to take them to the Alpha's bedroom.

“The Alpha's bedroom?!” What the hell!

I couldn't say no because refusing a task on your first day was an obvious curse.

I just hoped he would be around or something.

I entered the luxurious and spacious bedroom, shining with dim blue light. Alpha Gerald’s room looked like a master luxury, of course it was.

I located the drawer and tucked them in. I was so happy that I could do everything swiftly with no sign of him, but the problem came when I was about to leave.

After folding the sheet and turning, there he was, standing right in front of me, piercing blue eyes shooting straight to me.

My heart skipped a zillion times and I staggered back.

I felt the aura engulfing me. I had never been this tense before.

He was so big, even if I was avoiding his sight, I still felt overshadowed.

“And you are?” He said with his cracking voice.

“Kassy, Kassy Wildmore.” I replied, with my voice trembling from my belly.

“Kassy.” He reechoed.

“Where are you from?” He asked me.

“Em….Emerald pack, Alpha.” I answered, still unable to find my composure.

“Why are you looking down, Kassy? Look at me.” He said. He was asking me to do the very thing that I was instructed to not do. This was definitely hell for me.

“I said look at me.” He uttered again, making me look up, my eyes meeting his eyes.

“Oh my goodness!” I muttered. Behold, beneath all that terror, he was the most handsome man I had ever seen. Behind his piercing eyes, there was this thing that interested me about him, I didn't just know but my wolf was so curious to get close and know.

Even my wolf could not help, but feel excited. I could feel the connection between us.

“But wait?” I gasped.

Are we “mates?”

“Wait, what?” He mimicked after me, his eyes never leaving me.

“This can not be!” I panicked upon remembering what Joyce told me.

I wasn't ready to feel this connection for such a dangerous man. I tried to press it down, to compose myself but the more I did, the more my wolf wanted to lash out. The more I looked at him, the more his eyes shone with desire.
